Yikes, look what I started. Thank you James for taking so much time to answer your humble servants (aka: purple dragon knight) on this thread. Let's officially close it, please...;-)

I think this thread is a good one, as some new aspects and ideas get bandied around. For this, it is worthwhile and does not need to be closed.

Of course it is a good thread, I started it after all, heh. The little winking smiley face means that I am not really suggesting we officially close it. ;-)

Well, I think I understand where you're coming from. It got uncomfortable for a little bit, but it didn't go over the line.

And that's not a bad thing, assuming it doesn't cross that line. Nobody likes to be a jerk, but you can't always be passive either.

Purple Dragon Knight was sincere, and even though he and I disagreed, I can respect that.

So you guys are all into furniture?

Do I have a link for you!

I don't think we have to close the Thread, maybe just get off the Threadjack.

I also don't like the idea of coming up with a static, site-based, "dungeon" adventure for the Starstone Test.

Or, at least, not the second half of it. Maybe the first half is a "run-of-the-mill" epic-level dungeon crawl for an APL30 group. That we could see in print.

But that would only be the first half of the Test. (Maybe a drunken adventure skipped it, went around it like running to Third base before running to First & Second?... Maybe the first half didn't exist a few ages ago -- it does change, afterall)

The second half of the Test would be more arcane (literal meaning, not D&D meaning).

And since the gods who currently exist now know that the test exists and epic-level mortals can potentially pass it, they're gonna take personal interests in the Test.

Anyway, like previously mentioned, there should just be a page or so of guidelines and suggestions as to how this portion is run. Oh, and challenges should CERTAINLY depend on, not just revolve around, Alignment.

Someone has mentioned it before, but it bears pointing out specifically - the Immortals Set for Basic D&D was all about god campaigns.

And it made it believable. Well, it did to me.

There were some divine agreements about what one could or could not do on the prime or elsewhere in the multiverse, rules on how the divine impacts the non-divine, and what happens when an immortal vessel 'dies'.

I think that they had the choice of either letting the vessel die and starting again from scratch, or using divine power to keep the vessel alive, but breaking the verisimilitude of the character.

It was all quite cool. I'll have to go look at that again now. Thanks for this thread!
