Sir Bronwyn Raslov |
Guys, I uploaded the most recent excel file with for the kingdom. Aron, could you compare with yours, see if everything is okay?
Also, could we roll only one extra month (totalling 13) so we can finally build the Market we've been saving for?
Carina Stigard |
I guess the flip question is, do we want to wait a few more months and just get the Waterfront? If we did, this would decrease the cost of the Market from 48 to 24 and the Guildhall from 34 to 17. Essentially, but waiting a few months, we would be 41BP ahead. Also, I believe at a nation size of 21, we become Duke and Duchess, which should allow us to apply our bonus to two stats - Econ and Stability most likely.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Think the only thing you were missing was a house in the capital. Beyond that everything is fine from what I see.
Carina Stigard |
Just as a note for all. One of the main reasons that I am hesitant to leave the Google Drive where I store this stuff public is that I am using a pdf of a map. I do not know all the laws regarding copyrights and intellectual property, but would prefer to avoid someone from Paizo or some other place finding it and getting annoyed. By limiting the access, it is essentially no different than showing the original to your friends at a tabletop game.
If you know of someone who wants to see the maps and follow along - for instance I know that AK has followed this thread in the past - please have them PM me their email and I will add them. I don't want the whole world, but do not mind interested people being able to see what I have done.
I am doing this same thing on the Temple of Elemental Evil campaign that I am running and have not had a problem with it yet.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Also, yes I'll give you a few extra months till you get Jhod's place established so you have a nice big kingdom, before the horrors to the south destroy it :D
I think the paizo guys will be fine. I mean I post art from their books all the time in adventures to give the players a better look at the creatures and I've never seen anyone else get in trouble for it. Only if it was the complete PDFs for free download it'd probably be a issue, but don't quote me on that.
Bronwyn Greenwood |
As an aside, I also plan to use touch of gracelessness on the wyverns.
Also, could we buy/craft a dose of this? It's an alchemical compound that attracts predators, allowing them to smell its scent at five times the normal range. Could do wonders to attract the creatures.
So, I thought a quick battle like that could be an welcome respite from the kingdom-building stuff, and I'd rather roll it out instead of just sending mooks (who will probably die by the dozens) to deal with it. What about you guys? If most of the group would rather just get this over with, we can simply roll the check.
Bronwyn Greenwood |
That's a good point Tark/Telias. If they could somehow make a trap big enough to snatch the wyverns our job would be a lot easier. Bronwyn knows next to nothing about traps and even less about the kobold's capabilities, though. If they suggest something of the sort he'll probably agree.
The idiotic plan he devised involved mostly things and resources he could muster in a half-hour in the market, to get things done in the fastest way possible to prevent further attacks.
Bronwyn Greenwood |
I mean unless Lord Greenwood really wants to tank and spank the massive draconic creature and laters its pissed off mate while his pregnant wife watches than by all means don't let this ancient avian terror stop you. :D
Also, that xD
Since most of the settlers came after we got the Stag Lord, no one has actually witnessed the council fight or do anything "heroic". This way they get to see what we're about and hopefully this instills some respect and maybe even a healthy fear. "I hear the spymaster killed a wyvern with a shot to the eye!" or "the baroness can make a creature burst into flames with only a word, best not to piss that one" do wonders for keeping people in check.
Jameson Addercop IV |
On Friday December 7th I will be flying to Hawaii for a 1 year anniversary/honeymoon. I will have limited internet access and will check the forums but most likely won't be posting too terribly much. Aron feel free to run Jameson in the upcoming wyvern fight, all his macros are on my character sheet and he's not complicated. CHARGE!

So a couple of good news. I got my notebook back, had to get a new HD. Lost a bunch of stuff, but managed to recover the campaign Corel Draw files I had done a couple months ago. Gave them a makeover, tried to find an icon for the Farms (now I know what you suffered, Carina) and a way to draw the roads and think I found both. Could you guys take a look at the image and suggest any changes?
Also, is there a way to let other people upload files to that google drive folder, Carina? If I had access I could leave it there.
Also, sorry for the font. I kindda lost my font library. Will try finding some others in the following weeks.
Carina Stigard |
Na, yours is much better than mine. It just dawned on me that I should have grayed out the whole thing like you did, and then erased the gray on the ones we take over.
I say keep using your country map. I will get the city one cleaned up when I have time. I am not thrilled with the format. I would like to have the streets thinner which I can do, just will take some time that I do not have right now. Just got 13,000 pages of documents dropped on my lap at work that I need to try to read through in 2 weeks.
Bronwyn Greenwood |
If you'd like, it would be pretty easy for me to import the city grid from the Player's Guide as an image right to Corel. And then just cut and paste the buildings. Compared to the massive work on the kingdom map, this is quick and dirty. It sucks visually though (no water, and there are those white lines crisscrossing the blocks).
DM Aron Marczylo |
Very fancy on the image. Wish I knew how, then I could use that map for the south. Actually...Would you be able to make one that includes the bottom part of the green belt (unshaded) and I could far more easily hide things in the south (on the origonal map, names of places crossed over hexs, which would spoil the surprise) and move the images onto the map, if you tell me how you did it. Or I could just be lazy and tell you what object is used for the area and it's name after you deal with the encounter and map the place out :p
I quite liked the quick and dirty one. I thought it looks very good.
Carina Stigard |
If you have the city grid, can you email it to me? I used a program which extracted all the pdf images of the buildings from the Kingmaker Player's Guide, so I have all of them. If I had the real map, I could paste that as separate images for the background, and then just insert the buildings on top of it. Adding water and stuff is easy with the drawing function of MapTools. I had started to actually type the names of the buildings onto the images so that I would not have the names sticking out as much. The castle is done this way. I just need to finish that.
Shoot it to my gmail account which I will PM to you - or you should have through the images I posted. It dawns on me that I can probably extract the city grid as well, just did not do that the first time. But if you have it, that would make my life easier.

I can get you the unshaded map, unmarked map or can do it as you ask - it would be fairly simple to add another shading in front of unexplored hexes and add up icons for the stuff we find. This is a tentative take on that.
Carina, I sent you two versions of the city grid image - one with the original borders and one without.
DM Aron Marczylo |
So that's how you did it. Was wondering what technological wizardry you were performing.

Shoot me both if you can. I will see which works best. Rather than using the checkmarks, I will just color over the borders with the MapTools drawing tools.

lol, yeah sorrry guys been quite busy and updating now. Also, tomorrow going to Deevor's place to play some pathfinder so need to finalise my magic user.
DM Aron Marczylo |
lol, he's a sorcerer with the Abberant bloodline. I've been watching a lot of Ancient Aliens recently and that show has gone off into the totally absurd recently. At one time, it suggested many abductees had seen alien/human hybrids that look just like humans, but could project images into people's minds, that's his basis. His mother believes she was visited by celestial beings, not knowing them to be abberations from another world.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Simple farmers, so soft dirt. It's just a standard barn...sorry I have no real idea about barn construction...:p
DM Aron Marczylo |
sorry guys for being slow. Been a bit busy and constantly wondering how I'd resolve the damage that the minature army you brought with you would deal to these Wyverns. Thought D100 might be too generous so a 1d50? None of them have any real military training beyond what Ganit and Jameson would've taught them.
Also whilst walking the dog a few new ideas came to mine, though I'm going to need to discuss one as it might be a bit "too" dark, or atleast a aspect of it might be and I don't want to go down a route to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

Yes yes Ganit's child will be a tiefling. Big scandal, more durnkness, probably suiciding mother. Big hubbaloo from the populace about Ganit's demonic bastard.
Then come to find out that Carina is having twins from the same father as the bastard tiefling...

Well the red hair is a dead giveaway. The world is an unforgiving place for the ginger tiefling bastard.
DM Aron Marczylo |
lol he doesn't have horns and doesn't appear to be a tiefling. Ganit should be happy for having such a beautiful child and loving mother. someone who cares, despite the evils of his past, but who knows. He might change over time.
Not seen Carina be too close to celestials or demons to get either of those lol.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Hey, Bron has a rather hidden past, you never know.
lol, true enough. Who knows who his father might've been?

Hmn, that is indeed a good question. Maybe if I had decided on taking Eldritch Heritage I would have some answers...
DM Aron Marczylo |
will be busy the next couple of days. Have my better half over and will be watching movies, nostalgia critic and other stuff till sometime after new years.
DM Aron Marczylo |
yeah as I said, very sorry. First I decided to try out LEGO LoTR (want to make space on my HDD for Hitman Absolution. MAN that's a beast with 26004MB size) but got sucked into it, completed it and my better half has been over recently
Bronwyn Greenwood |
So how are you guys doing? We seem to have hit a major road bump, it's been one month since this wyvern fight started. For my part, I apologize for any delays I've caused. My classes have started for the year and it's been somewhat heavy on reading material, but I still check the thread three to four times a day.
The Hermit Ganit D'Artain |
I'm still around. Working a lot but still checking my games at least twice a day. I'm just waiting on the initiative order for this. Telias has a tendency to transform the battle terrain so I'll base my post on whatever art he decides to create.
