Nah, Lio's just very cold intolerant.
Of course, the people who are able to run around in Boston in pants, tanktop and slippers are just insane and deserve to be treated as such.
it's not me :P it's you!
seriously though, you've got like fire resistance + 2 in real life, in addition to cold resistance + 5.
ok, maybe it is me, a little bit, but only in the sense that i take extra cold damage ;)
it's like i said... totally made of spun glass.

ahem, minor correction. Myri's player only hates the thought of eating cherries (due to a childhood accident), the actual eating is fine. If that's ever what you want to make, please do

it could happen ;)

So ... I am thinking "Covered Wagon" rather than "Supply Wagon" as an additional wagon. But I'm not at all clear what that (and the extra Guards and one of the Scouts going onto Driver duty) will do to our consumption (except make it go up).
can anyone else drive, that isn't also a scout? :/

Is she a character who would be upset if she were explicitly told that the Caravan, Mission, and Team is actually under the command of Shalelu/Sandru/Koya/Ameiko, and that they have simply chosen to take (and will continue to take) a very light hand in running things, but are willing to intervene and take control if anything gets out of hand?
I need to know if being told such a thing would (a) upset her or disturb her in any way, (b) affect her relationship with Shalelu in any way.

Saying insulting things about Ameiko Kaijitsu is on his list of dislikes. It had not occurred to me to roll for him when you did this, since you were directing them at her and were clearly joking. I just didn't make the connection.
But there's nothing in his description that says he cares if it was a joke. So ... when I have a moment, I will give you relationship rolls for the times you have insulted Ameiko in his presence, which I believe has happened twice.

Note: I am probably going to reset flextime when you all hit Karlsgard. There will be another full week of travel between Kopparberget and Kalsgard, so this will be far from immediate, but it is something to start considering for those of you who are still, for example, down in the vault below Brinewall. ;)

I have been reading the Crafting rules. I found reference in a third party feat description to this: "Normal: While adventuring, you can dedicate only 4 hours to crafting and receive only 1 hour of progress from it" -- but was unable to actually find that quoted portion.
Is this something from the Rules As Written, or is it from Elsewhere And Therefore Suspect?

Hmmm... so does anyone have too much money on their hands? I'd like to upgrade to full plate armor, but I'm missing about 500 gp. It also feels foolish to sell the magic cold iron mace. Does anyone feel like loaning me some bling...?
I was thinking about getting that feat so as to upgrade as well at some point.
But if Hrunndalf wants cash, he could ask folks in character!

But if Hrunndalf wants cash, he could ask folks in character!
I have to side with Alaric on this one. Don't sell the mace -- ask in character. I'll bet even if most of us spend most of our cash, we would whip round for Hrunndalf. After all -- he's a squishy!

Hey, we are trying to get Kalimac that 5000th post, whatever the cost. Just one long act of self-sacrifice on our part. :-)

Agree with in IC asking.
And... so people... passenger wagon? +6 people and +2 storage?
Yeah, ask IC. After engagement monies and town shopping, Hrithik will be pretty tapped, but might have a little to spare.
How much more Caravan people storage do we need? Zaiobe and Silmemir and Buttersnips? (Sounded like Spivey was so small she was effectively free. Would Buttersnips also be effectively free, or does killer-fast metabolism make her cost a person's-worth?)
If we really only need two people worth, maybe supply wagon?
Other thought, for those with merciful characters: prisoner wagon?

Supply wagon has a higher consumption than passenger one. Which is a consideration when we lose another scout and gain more passengers thou.
Are we maxed out on Spellcasters aping Scouts? Spivey is like free flying food at this point.
Also, just remembered: At Karlsgard we'll lose Kelda, so even if Buttersnips eats like a beast, we won't have Consumption increase to worry about.
| Melinda Sorn |
If we lose Kelda... then we will lose a scout as well.. because one of our scouts will have to drive. (Just throwing that out there).
I really hope work smooths out and that things are calm.

My thought on this was that we only need the two spaces now -- but are full up again immediately with Z. and B. A covered (passenger) wagon would give that wiggle room. Even at the cost of the increased consumption (I checked the player's guide, and Supply Wagon is 1 consumption, while Passenger Wagon is 2 -- this matches what the caravan's character sheet says).

Whoops... ty Rhost.
See this is why i shouldn't post that stuff from work...
So we get a Supply Wagon for the Test-Certified Couple of Love, rearrange everyone else as needed, and if anyone else wishes to join the Caravan after Kelda and Buttersnips swap, we make them engage in gladitorial death matches with other NPCs to keep our numbers managable ... or maybe just buy another wagon.
Simple. Straightforward. Efficient.
And then it's just all Mayan Apocalypse all the time.

this may seem far fetched... (and i may not be reading everything as closely as i should) but can't we just hire another driver or two? is that too expensive? also, can we afford to get 2 wagons? we could get one supply, and one additional passenger wagon.

That's what Hrithik is doing. I've often found that explanations of Hrithik's player's behavior often comes down to his simply catering to my merest whims.

Maybe? I was worried mostly about keeping our consumption as neutral as possible. We will need to buy additional supplies out of the same cash cache as repair materials, upgrades, extra armor, etc.

Quick comment:
Zaiobe and Silmemir will join the Caravan in Kopparberget. Buttersnips will join in Karlsgard and Kelda *currently intends* on leaving -- it is not impossible that she will ask to stay on or someone will ask her to stay on. It has also been mentioned that you will need to hire a Guide in Karlsgard to successfully cross the mountains. It sounds like it is possible you may wish to hire a driver. So there will be an absolute minimum of three and as many as five additional people in the Caravan *that you know about* by the time you leave Karlsgard.
In addition, if you have a Caravan in which the spaces are absolutely maxed out, that means if you happen to randomly come across "Lothar, Godlike NPC Who Will Solve All Your Problems(TM)!" while crossing the mountains, you will have to say, "Gee, Lothar, we could really use your ability to instantly wish everything better automatically at any time ... but I'm afraid there's no room for you." The GM suggests keeping at LEAST one extra slot open at all times.

No use hiding it anymore. Every exchange is just "94 posts til 5k for Kalimac, 94 posts til 5k. Post one up, nod an' say "yup", 93 posts til 5k for Kalimac."
Well, ok. There might be occasional bits of genuine roleplay every 40 posts or so. But only under protest, and with much wailing, tearing of the hair, and rending of the garments.

So... at least a passenger wagon in current place. Maybe pick up the storage wagon when we get to Karlsgard?

On money-lending: Yeah, I'll ask IC, was just scouting out the territory. I wasn't going to sell the mace.
On drivers: Apparently the monthly wage for a driver is 10 gp. The only reason not to do that would be if we can't afford the extra mouth to feed.
Too bad we can't hire more scouts. Luckily, Spivey is a spellcaster. Zaiobe isn't, I assume? What about Buttersnips? She might just have a lot of SLAs...
Myri now qualifies as a spellcaster (scout). That opens up a mundane scout slot, right? Are we already maxed out on spellcasters?
