I finished it today and I'm glad I chose not to reproduce, since, it turns out, within 75-100 years we'll all be reduced to hunting-gathering in a postapocalyptic climate changed world.
According to some, 2030 is more the target date for postapocalyptic living as a senior citizen...

You don't like liberals, Doodle?
No! They suck! All or nothing! Gabba gabba we accept you we accept you one of us!

But he's right about one thing: liberals suck.
EDIT: Actually, he's right about a lot of things.
One day, if I have a daughter, she can be the Cannibal Queen of Vancouver.

"The hatred for the liberal class is deserved."
One mind-boggling example: the decline of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, who used to be able to command some f&$#ing respect, can be traced to the deregulation of the trucking industry. And who was one of the big proponents of the Motor Carrier Act of 1980? Ted f+@~ing Kennedy. And, yet, when he died, my local's quarterly publication put in a 2-page spread obituary about carrying on "his legacy".
Break with the Democrats! Break with the Social-Democrats!
For workers revolution to smash liberal lameoids!

Well, there's no point in going to work tonight if it'll all be over in 18 years. Maybe I'll just bang out, get high, and call takeout for a hooker...

The union leadership did not get legal counsel prior to starting negotiations and they got hoodwinked by a very basic trick.
During negotiations, either side can request independent 3rd party mediation. If there is no strike, or no lock out currently going on, once a request is made employees can't start a strike and the employer can't lock employees out - there is a cooling off period (20 days or something).
Since we are TAs, the bulk of our work is exam time stuff - invigilating and marking. Its also the only time when blocking buildings has a real effect (can't write) and when we can disrupt busses into campus.
The employer just waited for the week before exams, asked for mediation, and bam, cooling off period during exams, no strike.
No strike during exams means zero leverage all summer for negotiations.
Now, I'm not really hurt by this at all, but it offends my sense of professionalism / competence to see that our exec is a bunch of rookies.

You need to build your cache of zompocalyptic survival goodies. OR ... build your super-gonna-die-anyway-party funds so you can go out in STYLE.
I'm seriously contemplating the latter approach ... ^__^

Happy May Day!
On May 1st, International Worker's Day, we celebrate the winning of the 8-hour day by striking workers in Chicago in 1880-something by calling in sick to work and going instead to commie/anarchist rallies in the park.
Or at least we did, back when I lived in a f@*@ing city.
Anyway, I already worked today, it's raining, and the socialist kids told me that the AFL-CIO/Occupy bureaucrats running the event don't want any commie presence, so instead I'll post commie links on Paizo!
I don't in any way endorse the Rote Armee Faktion, but still,
this movie kicked ass.

Happy May Day to you fellow worker of the world!
I marched in the big May Day protest in NYC today. From Union Square to Wall Street. Lot's of people marching in the streets, and holy crap were there a lot of cops! I knew it was going to be big when I saw 4 helicopters in the air, but they had a HUGE presence of cars, scooters, and other vehicles (creepy prison buses- ~shudder~). And more officers of every type then I think I have ever seen. Special Disorder Unit or some such was the coolest sounding in my opinion.
Anyway, seems like we had just about everyone represented in one event, and I don't think there were mass arrests, so we got that going for us.
United, United, United We Stand, United we never shall fall!
Wait... that's Judas Priest lyrics... what was that chant... oh yeah,
The People, United, Can Never Be Defeated!

You are no doubt right, but it doesn't feel as untrue in the moment as chanting, "Whose streets? Our Streets!" while surrounded by riot cops with clubs and wads of zip cuffs.
I'm not bag on chants myself, but there were a few good ones, and a few great signs. Best one was, "I'm going to party like the minimum wage is $19.99". Before the march there was some funky rocking out by the Rude Mechanical Orchestra and also a great performance by Rev Billy and the Stop-Shopping Choir.

At one of the anti-WTO riots in Quebec City (what year was that? 1999? 2000?), the protestors were facing off with Mounties (they were on horses, I don't know whether that makes them official Mounties, but, whatever) when my friend waded out into the middle of the street and sat down. He started chanting "Whose streets? Our streets!" but then stopped himself and said, "Well, actually, I don't live around here..."
Hee hee!
EDIT: Rev. Billy is pretty funny. He's got a movie that's worth watching called What Would Jesus Buy? Check it out.

Yeah at least a couple times a week. What you smell though is more likely rum permeating my pores not soap ... though I do bath on a regular basis.

If I can make it work, you'll know it. Everyone will know it. I'll be making tens of thousands heads a'splode in just the first day.
