Druids Channeling energy?

In the AGP especially, there are many options for a Druid to get access to different domains than listed in the Core. However, some of these domains have abilities the require the use of the Channel Energy ability, which a Druid does not have (and as far as I can tell, cannot get). For example, the Lion Shaman archetype gives access to the Sun domain. However, the core power of the Sun domain requires Channel Energy.

It seems extraordinarily gimpy to knock out the domains' feature ability; it's highly unlikely anyone would ever take it. Were they supposed to get some minimal Channeling ability? Something else to replace it? Or was the inclusion of said domains simply a mistake?

Thanks!

SJ

You could swap out the Light subdomain, which doesn't use channel energy.

It does not appear as though there is any way for the druid to gain a channel energy, though -- short of multi-classing into a class which does grant it -- and I wouldn't say that having a domain which uses it grants it. It will still grant its other powers, and the domain spells and spell slots.

A Druid choosing the Sun Domain still gets access to the domain spells, as well as Nimbus of Light at 8th level.
There's more to a domain than it's 1st level power.

That's true but I don't think most players will be too thrilled with the idea of having to wait till 8th level to get their one and only domain ability.

what a shame. In 3.5 the sun domain granter 1 greater turning a day. coupled with extra turning and divine metamagic cheese (quicken, not persist) was great.
