If the archetype would replace an ability that an alternate class does not have, it cannot take the archetype. Your dm might be willing to make some kind of adjustment, but by raw this is not an option.

you really don't have a limit on how many archtypes you can take. but the above advice applies otherwise. you can take new archtypes until the cows come home as long as no two replace the exact same ability.

Sounds like you are trying to compensate for the same reason as the Ninja I just made and going to be using this weekend. For something a little more offical you might just take a dip in Ranger that has the Trapper Archetype. You get trapfinding for free at level one then with that ranger archetype.
