Could somebody check my math regarding this Ex Power
I have a 3 level fighter with strength 20
At 3rd level, when a two-handed fighter makes a single attack (with the attack action or a charge) with a two-handed weapon, he adds double his Strength bonus on damage rolls.
I have a 3 level fighter with strength 20
So the damaage with a Two handed great sword would be
2d6 + 5 (str) + 5 (Double) +5 (x1.5 two handed weapon) = 2d6+15?
OR is it 2d6 + 5 (str) + 5 (Double) +2 (x1.5 two handed weapon from the natural str bonus) = 2d6 +12

It's +17 your normal attack from a two hander adds +7 overhand chop adds +10 to that. Overhand chop does not say, (instead of the normal 1.5) just further down the page in the same rule book by a few lines it says "Greater power attack" that is clearly defined as "instead of and not in addition to "the X1.5 from power attack" why were rules worded one way and then another a few lines apart? They weren't, they are both as written.

You cannot add a strength bonus to a damage roll twice. It doesnt say instead of the normal 1.5X because it is a typed bonus unlike power attack and wont stack.Power attack is untyped so without that wording it would double up.
just because you have something twice doesnt mean they stack, Bracers of armor don't stack with mage armor which doesnt stack with wearing armor because they are all armour bonuses to AC.
Bonuses are numerical values that are added to checks and statistical scores. Most bonuses have a type, and as a general rule, bonuses of the same type are not cumulative (do not “stack”)—only the greater bonus granted applies.

I've seen this question come up, so I was looking for an answer as to why there was no clarification in the rule book saying "instead" like there was for other rules. I typed in "Overhand chop" into the search and these were the first threads I found that were talking about my question. The evil monk answered my question. = Win
