Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

I'm back from my national day break.
I haven't played a great role in the campaign yet, but be assured I'm still motivated. As of PrC, if you allow it, I've built Gwenola to be dragon disciple once she reaches level 6.

Kyras Acaman wrote:

Currently not planning any PrC, but it's always a possibility. Would consider Horizon Walker or multiclassing if circumstances arose for it.

I will write in a SOP on Kyra's profile in case someone will need to post for me.

Erefine, I was looking at your new recruitment listing and you mentioned 28 pointbuy. Was just curious if you had meant to increase it from the 20 you had us do originally.

You are right...I meant for it to be the same, but between this and the other campaign I DM I couldn't remember which one had the 20 point buy. Thanks for the catch!

Dragon disciple would fit wonderfully with the campaign.

Round 3 Initiative:
Sungalu
Bandit Leader unconcious
Gwen
Muugru
Kyras
Bandits
Heshlem
Ricdak

Ok I updated the map the orange is the stairs. Is that a little more like what you imagined Muugru?

Sungalu charges up the stairs and with his greataxe swings at the bandit.
Power Attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
If hit:1d12 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Sungalu kills the bandit with one cleave of his axe.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

Thanks for the map, but from last round action, Gwen should be in B3 (as B2 is a wall)

Using the reach of her spear, Gwen tries to finish the bandit.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15, damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Gwenola Gralfen wrote:

Attack 1d20+4, damage 1d8+3

Gwen is able to finish off the last bandit putting her spear right through his temple.

Once the last bandit has been finished off Tandor comes running forward to all of you.
"This do be bad news indeed. Even worse if they have found a way down to my stockrooms here then the town watch will as well and should they find these dead men twill be the death of me...literally. They would execute me without even a trial."
Tandor begins pacing..."Oh what to do..."

Tandor begins pacing..."Oh what to do..."

As the last bandit is taken out of action, Gwenola shoulders her lance and climbs down the stairs towards the fighting men.

"You must be the ones I've been sent to find, I'm Gwenola Gralfen." she says with her best smile.

As she comes closer, you see she is a young woman barely out of her teens. Contrary to most red-haired people, her skin is not pale white but has a golden tone, accentuated by some nearly invisible flames that run over it for an instant before disappearing.

Stopping within reach, her voice suddenly takes on a more sibilant accent:

Draconic:
"The Dragon sent me to you. He showed me an image of something he wanted brought to him. Would you know what this is?"

If no one seems to understand, she'll come back to common and repeat herself.

Noticing the Innkeeper monologue at the last moment, she shrugs and adds: "I would suggest burning them, but I'm not sure it is a good idea right here"

"Why would they arrest you because you had bandits invade your place?"

He then focuses on the young lady. "Could you say that again in common or orc?"

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Did we ever decide who was carrying the medallion? If no one else wanted it, Kyras would volunteer to carry it.

"Thank you for your help, Gwenola, Master Dwarf" Nodding in thanks to each of them in turn as he speaks.

"Master Tandor, do you know these men? Are they part of the watch then?

You had decided that Zan should carry it before he disappeared from the game, so for the moment nobody has it.

Sungalu realizing what Gwen said replies:

Draconic:
You say the dragon sent you? She probably be wanting that egg she hid at the worlds creation.

Tandor still pacing replies to both Heshlem and Gwen:
"You see Kalu be a fickle town to be sure. If the town watch come across a dead body and have reason to believe you be the one who done it...well they enact martial law and kill you on the spot. The king here be an odd fellow that is for sure. Now as for burning them, we would have to get them outside the city and hope to God the watch don't spot us with a cart 'o dead people."

The town guard is judge, jury, and executioner, what a scary thought. I will also hazard a guess that with such power many of them live outside what their normal salaries pay them. I guess it is time to be going now, not just because of recent events, but if self-defense is illegal this is not the place for me.

"They had to sneak in here from somewhere. Why not dump them outside, most likely in an alley? You(Tandor) have no blood on your hands or weapons to use, and there is no way one man can take on so many people. We plan to be out of town. I would suggest scrubbing whatever blood is here off the floor though, before it sets in."

If there is not an alley then ...uh....

Sungalu thinks for a moment, "I meself can make us a barrel of exploding powder. I saw the supplies in the storerooms. Perhaps a small contained explosion would cover-up any body."

Eyeing the dwarf and the young human woman suspiciously, Muugru moves beside Heshlem, preparing to strike either of them if they make any unexpected sudden moves.

Muugru looks down at the unconscious bandit leader, and looks to Heshlem. "What we do with him?"

As people talk of burning or blowing up the corpses, "Thems have any good loot on them?". Muugru glances towards the corpses, anxious to examine them, however he remains by Heshlem's side.

Map looks better. Now I know where I can charge to, and where I can go to, to get flank bonus :)

Heshlem wrote:

Gwenola smiles with an apologetic look, quickly replaced with an expression of excitement:

"I'm sorry, I'm new to this trade. Wow, I'm on a real mission with bandits and fights and all that!"

She is nearly jumping up and down with glee.

"Would you believe this was my first real fight. Well, Dad trained me but these were always mock fights. And there were these bandits on the road but they fled when I burned them with fire. So, did I do right? I was afraid I would burn everything down in the beginning."

Realizing she is babbling in from of near-strangers, she puts her hand on her mouth and tries to adopt a more serene attitude.

"Oups, sorry, I did not answer your question. I was contacted by the Dragon about fetching him an egg and wanted to know the level of information you had. Oh, and can you tell me your names. And I think this is a good idea to search them first and maybe question them. I can be very mean if you want. It always worked on the boys when they were up to something..." She catches herself and stops for half a second. "Sorry, babbling again..."

Gwenola will look through the bandits belonging, using detect magic and putting aside everything she thinks of value.

Muugru glares at the young woman as she relentlessly babbles, speaking far too quick for Muugru to follow. Muugru then looks over to Heshlem, "She give'n me headache. What she want?"

"Good question, I think we should check before we blow them up. You check some and I will check the rest."

perception check for any hidden items:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

"My name is Heshlem. I am a paladin of Cayden Cailen."
He makes sure to emphasize the word paladin.

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

"Nice to, ~ahem~ meet you. I'm Ricdak, and I was sent a vision by the Balancer, if you know what I be meaning. I was sent to help you with your quest."

Ricdak will put forward his hand to shake Heshlem's.

Loot:
You find 3 longbows, a masterwork greatsword, 3 longswords, 45 gold pieces, a note, 4 gems of some sort, 1 composite short bow.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

Gwenola will try to read the note if she can speak the language or give it to the others if not.

Also, appraise check for the gems 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

You are able to discern that in total counting the one in the party's packs you have 2 cracked rubies and 2 cracked saphires valued at 50g each.

Can someone give me a linguistics roll for the note?

Some babbling, good stuff then back to the babbling. :)

Are we running it then that our former members are still up in the inn and have the medallion and rings or that they took them with them when they left?

"You're right names would be good. I am Kyras Acaman." Indicating each in turn he introduces the others. "The big lug there is Muugru. Then we have Sungalu and Tandor. Again thank you for your help."

Looking back over at Tandor, "The passage isn't connected to your inn, so you should be ok right? If we would be killed for defending ourselves, I think we should leave as soon as possible, and hide as much sign of our presence as we can. Enough eyes have seen us as is." Looking down at their attackers, "We think any of them are still alive?"

"Let me get my arrows out of this one real quick. One less thing for them to follow."

Recovering arrows: 1d100 ⇒ 32, 1d100 ⇒ 18
Kyras will take the fletching and arrow heads with him even if they are broken.

If Gwenola shows him the note: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

I would say that their items given through quests, Pandin, etc are inside the chest Pandin gave you.

"Well that be the problem you see the far part of this passage is right under my kitchen, so me thinks an explosion would not be the best idea. However I agree that enough eyes have seen us and should someones eyes not see these men come out it could spell trouble."

Erefine wrote:

I don't know how many of them there are compared to us there are enough.

"Is anyone here good at disguising people? Maybe we can walk out pretending to be them?"

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Looking at Gwenola and Ricdak "How did you two find your way back here? There is always the chance the entrance isn't watched right?"[b]

[b]"Disguising people? Give me the woods and we could be hidden. Here? I'm not sure, draw up our hoods, maybe?"

"Well, we asked for you at the inn and one of the maid told us you were gone through a back alley. Then we heard the start of the fight. For the rest, we could try to carry them away between us, pretending they are drunk and dump them in another street."

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

"As good a plan as any, I suppose but how we gonna cover up their wounds Mugruu and Sungalo teared those two up pretty well?" Pausing a moment, "One of us might want to go take a peak see if it's clear."

Unless someone tells him to wait Kyras will move toward entrance and take a look to see if anyone is nearby. Will try to remain hidden as well if possible.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

Muugru just shrugs as the party discusses their options. Apparently hiding corpses is clearly out of Muugru's field of expertise.

Kyras you are manage to slip out unseen and to the best of your knowledge you see nobody around.

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

"No sign of any one right now. If we are going to go we should probably get going. We gonna try and pass 'em off as drunks?"

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

Apparently Heirloom Weapon has been errated. Would you like me to switch my use of it to the updated or leave it as is?

Male Dwarf Barbarian 4

I just found out that I'm going to be leaving for a 7-day cruise this sunday, and I won't have any net access. While I would like to be NPC'd, if you need to drop me, go ahead.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

When Kyras comes back, Gwenola turns to the Innkeeper and with her usual style tries to plan for the dumping of the bandits' corpses:

"Do you know of any place close to here that we could use to get rid of the corpses? Then we'll better come back and interrogate the surviving guy. And do you have any alcohol we could use to make them at least smell like they are drunk? And we need rope to bind the survivor and gag him if he wakes while we're gone."

I will NPC you Ric, I am rather enjoying your character and I think the others are too.

What was it updated to?

Male Half-elf Ranger 2
Erefine wrote:

Heirloom Weapon Errata:
Heirloom Weapon: You carry a non-masterwork simple or martial weapon that has been passed down from generation to generation in your family (pay the standard gp cost

for the weapon). When you select this trait, choose one of the following benefits: proficiency with that specific weapon, a +1 trait bonus on attacks of opportunity with that specific weapon, or a +2 trait bonus on one kind of combat maneuver when using that specific weapon.”

Taking a quick look through his pack Kyras looks surprised. "Apparently I didn't pack any rope. How stupid is that? I wonder what else I forgot in my rush after them."

"There may be some over there, in the caves you were in. While you go there, can someone look for anything with alcohol in.”

I am fine with it staying a Masterwork Weapon.

In the first storeroom you do find rope, however down here you do not find any alcohol.

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

If there is extra Kyras will grab some extra rope for himself. Kneeling down to tie up the unconcious one, he pauses for a moment and asks, "Any of you a sailor or a wrangler?"

Kinda odd how the "dumb brute" is better at tying someone up now.

Kyras you are able to take 100 ft. of rope.

So in an effort to move the plot along a bit, is the plan to sneak the bodies out and drop them in an alley while the innkeep goes and fetches some ale to pour all over them?

Male Half-elf Ranger 2

I'm thinking it is something along those lines.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2
Kyras Acaman wrote:

Yes, that's the idea

Ok I need Str checks and a few stealth rolls please.

Female Human Sorcerer (Linnorm Blooded) 2

Gwenola takes one bandit under his armpit and carries him as she would do with a drunked man.

"Now, Innkeeper, point us to a dead end alley where we can dump these.

Strength check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17, stealth check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17, and bluff check to appear to carry a drunken man 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
