I’m going to start a new pbp, starting in a small fishing village somewhere between Kridorn and Mirnbay in Iobaria, with hints of mystery and horror. Recently the fishing village has been hit by a plague not uncommon in Iobaria, yet something else seems to be working behind the scenes as villagers are starting to disappear in alarming numbers.

Not an app, just seeking clarification... Say you wanted a Full BAB and 1/2 BAB gestalt
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 6, 4, 2) = 26 and 6d3 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 1, 3, 3) = 10
Would that make a Fighter 1, Ranger 2, Cavalier 2, Gunslinger 1 / Sorcerer 4, Witch 2 Gestalt character?
Just seems a little.... odd...

I am intrigued too. Let's see what this gets me.
full bab
6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 6, 6, 3) = 28
medium bab
6d10 ⇒ (5, 8, 10, 10, 7, 9) = 49
OK So I am a Gunslinger3/Fighter1/Paladin1/Cavalier1...not too bad, basically 'Have gun will Travel' with good saves and a horse.
with Magus 2/Rogue1/Inquisitor1/Oracle1/Summoner1...some arcane tricks with oracle of battle and a summoned scout. This is a viable character...I like....what his background is..? That is a different story. Ha!

Okay, color me curious.
Full BAB; Low BAB
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 5, 6, 1) = 26; 6d3 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3) = 15
SO...
Barbarian 1, Cavalier 3, Gunslinger 1, Ranger 1/Witch 3, Wizard 3
I definitely have some ideas for this one. Should be interesting. Thanks for offering this up.
Can you give us the basics of Gestalt characters? I'm a bit rusty on them. Haven't played one for 10 years. If I remember right, you get all the benefits from both classes as you level. Got a link to the rules you will be using?

SO, I am interested too.
Full and medium BAB GO!
6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 6, 3, 5) = 21
6d10 ⇒ (8, 8, 2, 2, 3, 8) = 31
By GM edict, re-rolling one level in Pally:
1d6 ⇒ 1
My levels are:
Hihg: Barbarian 2, Fighter 1, Ranger 1, Cavalier 1, Gunslinger 1
Med: Oracle 3, Cleric 2, Druid 1
I am the healer. There should be no argument about this.
Commence with the injury!
doctor_wu |
need to reroll the level in pally since it would have to be non lawful and durid and barbarian
level 1 barbarain/summoner
level 2 cavalier/druid
level 3 ranger/cleric
level 4 fighter/bard
level 5 gunslinger/rouge
level 6 paladin* /summoner
rerolling becuase of alignment restrictions
1d6 ⇒ 5
level 6 is now cavalier/ summoner

AM curious also... am planning on running an Iobarian pbp for later this year [those that I've played with have an incling for what I've planned ;0] so regardless of if I end up playing I'll be keeping an eye on the game :)
Character generation does seem a bit bizarre tho...
Full BAB: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 3, 6, 2) = 21
1/2 BAB: 6d10 ⇒ (2, 10, 6, 10, 3, 1) = 32
Fighter 3, Paladin 1, Gunslinger 2/Bard 1, Cleric 1, Druid 1, Alchemist 1, Magus 2
Reroll of paladin level: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Fighter 4, Gunslinger 2/Bard 1, Cleric 1, Druid 1, Alchemist 1, Magus 2
Pretty interesting mix...

and yea you can use a boar with the large template (dire boar is a little powerful) for a mount
Thanks. If you hadn't guessed, I'm looking at a dwarf for race. Probably Lawful Good.
15pt stat buy is making choices difficult though. :) So many stats that need to be at least decent, but so few points. :( Choices, choices, choices.Meowzebub |
It looks like it will be a very interesting game. But I am afraid I can't commit to running such a character. I don't think I can get up to speed on a gunslinger/magus/ and summoner all at once. I post a lot at work, and could not keep all this easily managable.
Sorry. Seems like this will be fun but I will have to just watch the adventure this time.

Hmm I may want to play in this but wow this way of getting levels seems contrived. I will see what this gives me to make.

6d10Are archetypes allowed?
Screwed up my other class post it actually is as I checked.
level 1 ranger/summonerlevel 2 cavailer/druid
level 3 ranger /cleric
level 4 fighter/bard
level 5 gunslinger/rouge
level 6 cavalier/summoner

For a build I am thinking of going mounted with having the horselord archtype for ranger and mounted fury for fighter and am taking the mounted combat syle. How will mounted combat (the feat) work in a play by post without slowing everything down though waiting for my roll is one thing I worry about and I can get to do that twice with trick riding. I am getting trick as my combat style feat for ranger.
Also am planning on getting spirited charge.
Also do our pets get max hit points per hd?
I may be getting these for stats and am thinking about human or half elf for race. Am thinking maybe nethys for a god to know the expirence of all different kinds of workers and to protect and destroy. With protection and destruction domains. This character is also taking a while to make.

I'll submit an app. This looks far too interesting to pass up!
I'll pick.. Full BAB and... Medium (since I have a soft spot for clerics.
Go! Dice rolls!
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 1, 4, 3, 1) = 19 Cavalier2/Ranger2/Paladin1/Fighter1.
6d10 ⇒ (7, 4, 9, 5, 1, 10) = 36 Ugh. bard1/Monk1/Rogue1/Inquisitor1/Summoner1/Magus1.
That's such a mixup I don't know where to begin... but I have a good thought!
Rerolling Barbarian dice, since I have a paladin level.
2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

This is an interesting exercise. its making me think about ways different archetypes can work together that i did not see before. I have my character started under the profile "kazillan". I still need to buy equipment , pick languages and figure things based on the equipment but the rest is done. Should finish up tomorrow.

Not sure if there is currently a spot open or not.
Just in case, I will put in the start-up rolls and if not, nothing lost.

gestalt side 2: medium BAB

The Thing from Beyond the Edge |
from orcs of golarion:
"most non-orc theologians believe that these orc gods are not actual deities but rather concepts that are fulfilled by various gods. some scholars go so far as to say the same god worshipped by different tribes may in fact be completely different gods responding to the orcs' prayers...The gods of the orc cults are chaotic evil..."
By, this different tribes and such may have different gods fulfilling their aspects as the fire god or the destroyer, etc., but it also says they are chaotic evil. I could just have my character interpret Sarenrae is being an apect of the fire god and that would work fine but I was hoping to take the feat from Orcs of Golarion (p.25) "Blessing of the Fire God" and it requires one to worship the fire god. So, if Sarenrae could be considered the fire god for my character's purposes, then he could take the feat.
Blessing of the Fire God
The Fire God rewards you for killing enemies with flame
prereqs: half-orc or orc, must worship the Fire God
Benefit: When in combat, if you deal fire damage to an enemy, you heal 1 hit point. you can only benefit from this healing once per round. Attacks that cause a target to catch on fire heal you each round the target takes fire damage.
