Afternoon everyone :)
It's been raining off and on since the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't be happier. It's been a gentle rain, but it's still completely overcast outside. It won't repair the damage done by the drought but the earth sure is soaking it up.

Twilightrose |

We've been in the Moderate to Severe drought range here in Wichita, KS. Other parts of Kansas have been in Severe but some have been in the Extreme condition it's been hell. It looks like you guys haven't had it so bad. I envy you lol.

Let's dig into the other stock and see what kind of nefariousness I can think up. Any suggestions?
As long as you are happy with it. HOD has a few happy-go-lucky types, so bear that in mind when picking what sort of evil you are intent on. Too Evil and too lonerish might just see you dead as an 'acceptable loss' by other party members. Alcheringa is pragmatic enough to not be too fussed by alignment (Carefull of playing a Necro though!) the Halflings would start to frown on overt 'bad sportsmanship' - though are pretty open minded, right down to Alcheringa occassionally eating humanoids to avoid mwasting food. Must be disconcerting seeing human opponents being eaten by your friendly Druid.
Pretty flex group though.
Teamwork is key though, as DMZZ throws some hard encounters.

Ah fish sticks! - they've gone and delayed all of the PDF releases by a week to have them release after Gen Con. Here I was looking forward to an epic glut of PF crunch and fluff to digest tonight... but now I've got to wait another week.
I understand why they don't, but I'd love for Paizo to actually have a digital subscription for PDFs so I could get on the early release bandwagon.

I also decided too evil would just get in the way of things so N would be easy enough to sate my darkside without going overboard.

so go to GenCon and get a glut of face-time with the actual PF guys. They're awesome. (I'm a big fan of Eric Mona, he's a very funny guy)
I'm not going this year, but i'm hoping to next year. That'll be my third trip.

pppffftt far??? Dudes, it's worth the price of admission just to go to the vendor hall!! You've NEVER repeat NEVER seen such a concentration of game-loving vendors and game-loving customers in one place!! Here's a great example.
You're all familiar with the Dwarven Forge playing aids--basically dungeon "tiles" that you can build out a 3D dungeon? Well, last time I was there, I was standing in one spot. Within spitting distance (literally) of each other, I saw
* a (quite extensive) Dwarven Forge display
* a display of a plaster cast kit so you could make your own Dwarven-forge style tiles and paint them yoruself
* a kiosk of software so you could create paperboard dwarven-forge style tiles super cheap
three sub-niches of a niche market, catering to three vastly different gamers.
You can find stuff there you *cannot* find anywhere else. I got modeling equpment I'd been looking for for ages: tiny dremel-style drillbits and metal pins for those figures you need to pin together to assemble!! Miniscule files!! It was AWESOME. And the gaming tables (price tag in the thousands) are enough to make you droooooooool.
I also completed my decades-old incomplete dice sets--that alone was so worth it!!!
If it's a plane trip away, it's a plane trip away, no??? Just go!!! Every gamer should experience GenCon at least once.

Vaughn - for all of us, it's not a case of not wanting to go... but more a case of being incapable of going. We would all go if we could, but simply getting there would probably set me back in excess of $5-6k US (wife plus two kids). Not to mention I can barely swing sufficient holidays to visit my extended family in Australia (given that I live as an expatriate).
So it's awesome that you can go and experience it... but please don't imply that we're just not trying hard enough, as that isn't the case. I'll get there, one day - but it would be as part of probably a month long holiday to the states in general, rather than a surgical strike just for Gencon.

Lol - Mark, I was about to post
Mark Sweetman - travel = wife + 2 kids + 10,000 miles (Kuala Lumpur/Hong Kong/Los Angeles/Indianapolis)
Shifty - travel = getting time off from Aussie military + 10,000 miles (Sydney/Los Angeles/Indianapolis)
ZZ - travel = family + 6,000 miles (Frankfurt/Chicago/Indianapolis)
--> Thus, for none of you is it a plane trip away, it is 2-4 plane trips through exotic airports around the globe. (And I know that everyone loves LAX and Chicago-O'hare).

OK, OK . . . I was being my typical american-centric self. It's easy to forget this is a worldwide audience. Implications of "try harder" were unwarranted and unfair, and you ahve my apologies.

Gencon sounds kinda fun! Keen to get it done, but am determined to do so on someone elses time+dime.
My gaming group mates have just finished the Star Trek expo, and had a great time with Vegas beer and hookers to their hearts content, and have just finished driving their rental Mustang over to Florida. More hilarity is set to ensue... :)
Happy Birthday ZZ!
I have to lecture to 22 visiting Chinese Professors and Academics today, wont be posting a lot either!

I was sitting here staring at my computer screen after a long day of running errands and I had checked my emails, my facebook and crowdrise but kept thinking I was missing something. There's something else I normally check. I'm so brain dead it took me an hour before I realized I hadn't checked paizo today. Oy vey. Mommy needs a nap.

Blegh!
I get a bit of leave time in a few weeks, so am planning a weekend being arty staying up at Norman Lindsays house.

Absolutely - it is funny though, that the kickstarter explicitly mentiones the Italian stratelibri version of the campaign - which is only a translation of the excellent German expanded (one or two intermission adventures, tons of regional gazetteers) campaign publised by Pegasus Spiele. (and yes, I am lucky enough to own that monster)
containing:
- a facsimile Guide to the Simplon Orient Express
- London adventure / 'gazetteer' of the Orient Express, campaign oultline (94 pages)
- Paris adventure / France gazetteer, Lausanne adventure / Switzerland gazetteer (128 pages)
- Travel adventure, Venecia adventure, Triest adventure, Zagreb adventure, Italy gazetteer (194 pages)
- Belgrad adventure, Sofia adventure, Constantinople adventure, Travel adventure / Balkans gazetteer, Turkey gazetteer (over 200 pages)
- facsimile Map of Europe
- 3 foldout maps of the train
- NPC book (34 Pages)
All illustrated with photos, maps, handouts etc. If those books were used, the box would be a steal at the kicksatrter price!
