Dancer build

Advice

Hey All,

I've been inspired by watching watching the dancer in Adele - Rolling in the deep, and just in awe of how this dancer moves and can so see her with a sword in combat.

But that is where I'm stuck, so what sort of build would you make for this. And yes its a her, Jennifer White as found in http://sarahlinstra.com/.

So basically high dex, max tumble and dance is where I've gotten while I'm still in awe. Thoughts?

Silver Crusade

Shadow Dancer is one option.

Dervish is perhaps another?

Along with the above, if you have the 3.5 Complete Scoundrel, you could talk with your DM about using/modifying the Cloaked Dancer Prestige class.

Liberty's Edge

Monk with re badged Temple sword(s) - next?

I wonder why no one has mentioned Arcane Duelist? She obviously has used her fascinate ability on the OP.

Grab a scimitar and take dervish dance.

Look up the Basiran Dancer from Kalamar setting for 3.5.

Silver Crusade

Looks like she is using Savate. Yes some of them still teach the cain figthing. It's in how she is kicking that you see it. Savate use very unique kicks. Some of them so unique that they where taken from Savate. When Bruse Lee developed Jet Kune Do. He used (5 or 6 can't rember now) of them when making Jet Kune Do.

My suggestion
Her martal arts style is Savate. She is using a combat heavy walking stick. There walking sticks with a pice of metal runing thow the center along with cap on both top and bottom.
She is a Monk. Wealding a Hanbo.

Shadow Lodge

Combat Patrol seems to work well with dancer concepts I've thought of.

Sovereign Court

I'm partial. Bard with the Dervish Feat Line. Combine that with Dazzling Display and Bard abilities, you've got gold.

That's why I suggested the Basiran Dancer from Kalamar...
It's a hybrid of monk and bard, where they use dancing movement for the bard abilites, get buff spells, but the dance itself is a kind of martial art. They don't get any ki abilities or flurry of blows, though. The class abilities lend to avoidance and feinting, usually with a rapier though, but I believe scimitar is on the calss list.
It's a neat class...

Thanks all, great food for thought!!!

It will have to be a pathfinder only build, but the APG will give me some options I can use.

Well Oterisk, I think you win :) The bard archetype arcane duelist is fitting so much that I think 10 levels of it will be nice. I have 3 levels more (I base my character concepts on our current level in my main game), so might look at either rouge or shadow dancer. Pretty sure my DM doesn't like shadow dancers unless you can justify getting into the class as who is going to teach you the skills.

So thanks everyone, time to go looking for arcane duelist builds ;)

Liberty's Edge

That video reminded me of this book series...

Sword Dancer Saga

One of my favorite series. I remember reading them as they came out.

Awesome video

Yah, I agree. Arcane duelist or Arcane duelist/shadow dancer seems right.

Yeah I'm little bit obsessed with the video atm, and the fact that the dancer is one of the hurly burly girlies doesn't hurt as well ;)

They could have shown more dancer time and less ... ok, less anything.
