...Pathfinder is the game that has the soul of what D&D was coupled with proper changes for the modern game. That is what I want to support. Plus, I love all the people at Paizo and I love what they are all about. And the community here is just second to none...

Thank you! I agree completely. It's like we, as a gaming community, are in the process of getting the old team back together.

Wow, normally I dont like to weigh in on threads that sort of are about me. It tends to slow down the discussion and discussion is good.
Let me clarify a few things.
1. I was a big cheerleader for 4E. No doubt. Maybe the biggest non-WotC person on these boards. I wouldn't say that was an unfair characterization at all.
2. I was just as largely disappointed by the resulting GSL and lack of responsiveness to suggested changes. And, as mentioned above, I came here on enworld, gave a mea culpa and ate crow. Everyone said Wizards wouldn't listen and I said, no, hold on, I trust them. I was working with Scott and Linae (who by the way are two of the coolest, must trustworthy, ethical and just overall nice people you will meet) and felt real confident I was being heard and the changes I hoped for might be made. Then they weren't made. Linae was gone. The Scott was gone. Then, all ability for me to believe otherwise also being gone, I came in and said you guys were right and I was wrong.
3. I have refrained from talking about why I chose this or that for fear of inflaming edition wars and I don't want to do that. But since it has been requested, I can tell you in short.

Bill is kind of doing that with Frog God. Go check out Slumbering Tsar he did with Greg Vaughn. It was slated to be a Necro product, but I released the rights back to Greg so he could do it with Bill. I was out of the picture and to make them do it as a Necro product, thus giving me a cut for doing nothing, didn't seem ethical or right. So he started Frog God and is doing that super-module. Go check it out.

Yup, I know of Slumbering Tsar. I'm just waiting for the final hardcover.

I'd also be on board for high level material - there's not enough choice for campaign direction when the players fall off the end of an adventure path; I'd love intrigue, danger, tombs at levels 15 and up. And Necromancer were the 3e module guys par excellence. I'm onboard with the Slumbering Tsar subscription, and I'd snap up something from Clark in a heartbeat.

Have you checked out Coliseum Morpheuon?

I highly recommend the Coliseum. Perhaps I'll even get around to writing up a full review of it this coming week. Not like these folks need another glowing review, but they certainly deserve one.
Edit: Now if only the Demon Prince of the Undead can come out with something awesome for high level adventurers or their beleaguered game masters....

I wouldn't hold your breath for that. Least not for the short term, maybe later down the road. :)

Oh I am just fine with this. Down the road I might actually be able to afford something cool.
Besides, like fine wine, ideas of this sort take a while to ferment.

Yeah the short term products are going to be cool, I think people will be happy with them. They... no I really shouldn't say more, Big Daddy Orcus would be mad at me if I did. :)

I have to say I haven't yet, I've been dithering about it for quite a while. It looks very cool (and I like the supplemental material that's been forthcoming), I'm just not sure of the actual basic idea; when I read the description on original release it seemed to be merely a kind of high level gladiatorial type thing, kind of 'last team standing' in the arena, which didn't really appeal. Am I wrong?

Not entirely wrong. That's the hub of the idea, but what I tried to do around it was provide the ingredients for any number of actual stories or plots so that, ideally (to me), the gladiator games are merely the device which moves along whichever plot you decide to go with in your game (while still being fun in themselves). When I was putting it together, I wrote the "adventure" not as an actual adventure, but as a collection of ingredients with some recipe ideas for you to build on to suit your tastes and the tastes of your players.
While that sounds a little odd for a module, I think, as it turned out, it was a good approach to take with a published high level adventure. Basically Coliseum Morpheuon can be whatever you want it to be for your group (within the boundaries of the setting).

Great, thanks for the clarification. The setting itself does still sound cool, and I *really* like the various personalities that have been published as complementary material. I may not use the central idea, but I think I'm likely to end up buying this as it is one of the very few high level settings to bring to my gaming table. It sounds like it could be a very useful roleplaying arena (pardon the pun), just with a gladiatorial themed backdrop. And I really like the ongoing support, that's a big plus.

Official no? No unofficial yes. He is still getting all his succubi(ducks to your mortals) in a row. So he knows for sure exactly what he can make and when it will come out. I do know what he has planned though and it is very cool, I wish he would make the announcement so I don't have to keep the secret anymore. :)

Did this 'ethical or right' quandry come with the black robe? I'm pretty sure lawyers don't have this issue. ;-)

It is more getting a artist, layout/editor etc all set up. Basically he wants to have everything in place and ready to go before he makes anything official. That way things will come out when he claims. I don't know the details of the business side of things. Only the over all whats going on their. On the product side, *grin* well that I do know about and i think people will find it very cool and fitting in nicely with what Paizo has going on right now. :D

I'm up to something allright :)
Not quite ready to announce yet. But I have a few people working with me. Some names Paizonians will DEFINITELY recognize. New company artwork/logo design almost done, by a familiar name as well (though not who you might think). Product layout template and art design underway, first draft of layout approved, but still fine tuning. A couple manuscripts near completion.
Here's what I won't be doing, at least not right away--I won't be just re-doing old Necro products. (you can get that stuff online at dtrpg and Necro is releasing frog god's pathfinder update of tome as you all know). I know that idea of me redoing some old Necro stuff excites some people. I may do some of that in a bit, but not at first. But keep this in mind--you didn't know me when I first started Necro and did Wizard's Amulet, so trust me that I will do something cool :)
I'm doing new things for Pathfinder. Things you guys will be able to use really easily. Things you will want to use. And done by the people who you will say "oh yeah, that will be great."

You know, I heard there is this really cool get together in Seattle for Paizo coming up here real soon. I might just have to come swing by and say hi. And maybe have something to say then. :)
And look at that, I have that Friday dedicated to being in Seattle. Hmm, how did that happen?

My new thing is me (and some soon to be named all stars, it's like a freaking all star team I have going it is so awesome). Bill is doing Frog God. I presume Bill will be there, but I haven't talked to him about it.
I'd be happy to sign anything (well, almost anything). Even old Necro stuff of course. Or your Pathfinder books. Or body parts in permanent marker. Whatever. :)

Before loving Paizo I was attracted by Necromancer's adventures... They were years I was away from D&D (taken by PC games/family/work...) and then I found someone of your wonderful book in a shop where I causually stepped and from that reading I knew the awesome quality of Necro tomes. Then, if now I could enjoy everything Paizo is doing with Pathfinder, it is also due to the hours spent reading The Crucible of Freya mini adventure path and then dreaming to run again a game in Rappan Athuk (and I still hope to do that one day).
So I'll continue supporting your efforts in the future as I did in the past and as I'm doing now with Paizo because when the quality and the love behind the produced material is so high this way is how I like to waste my time and money.
