Scarab Sages

Which means movie week for me!

Scarab Sages

Nekkid movie week? Even better!!!!

Scarab Sages

I'm gonna take advantage of their absence to On Demand Riddick and the Thor movie. Plus I'll finally get to watch the animated Justice League: War movie.

Scarab Sages

Actually, I should have it pretty easy for the time change this year. I'll be leaving that morning to drive back to Houston, meaning I won't have to deal with how it f~&!s up the kidlets' sleep patterns.

Heh heh heh......

Scarab Sages

AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!! I just realized I missed a spot shaving! The same spot I usually miss! I swear I double checked it!!

FUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!!!

Scarab Sages

Ooh! That one slipped past.

Scarab Sages

I'm gonna get some disposable razors to keep in my desk, damnit!

Scarab Sages

I might even start to do more prep work for the next big move.

And if I'm feeling really crazy, I might try to get inspired to write up something for Wayfinder. Probably not, though. I'm just not feeling it.

I think I might be one of the few Pathfinder fans who's not really all that blown away by Cheliax.

Scarab Sages

But I'm also one of those weirdos who doesn't think much of having tieflings or aasimars as PC races.

Scarab Sages

Or those elemental touched. Or cat folk. Or half drow. Or dhampirs. Or.....

Scarab Sages

Give me a good, old-fashioned dwarf or elf any day.

Scarab Sages

Although I do like half-orcs. I thought they were a logical extension of having half-elves.

Scarab Sages

But I still prefer dwarves or elves.

Especially dwarves.

Scarab Sages

But I'd never not allow a race for a player as DM. As long as it had stats for being a player race.

Scarab Sages

Although, Hero Lab has made non-traditional races easier to handle.

Scarab Sages

All right folks! I'm done for now. Y'all take it easy.

See, for once I'm kind of not looking forward to Friday. But only because I'm driving the wife and kidlets to New Orleans.

It's only one state over. ;)

let me know what you think of war.

I too, hate it when thishappens. It interferes with the black manliness I exude.

Dear god, don't do that. Get a butterfly razor and a pack of blades to carry in your briefcase!

Dark Archive

Morning FaWtLers. :) Actually, afternoon at this stage, but probably still morning for the majority of you. So both! :) Hope ye all have a lovely day.

Pirate Rob inspired me to go back to X Com and finally finish it with his latest playthrough thread. It's a good game, but tough. Perma-death isn't to everyone's tastes.

Sadly, as am I.

And the thing is, I really thought I would be. I prefer devils over demons. The Zhentarium in Forgotten Realms was one of the few things about the setting I liked. I thought a powerful Lawful Evil state run by devil-worshiping cultists should be awesome.

Cheliax... just... really isn't.

I can't exactly figure why.

Now on the races thing I couldn't disagree more ;)

Ask the draftsmen if they have a spare razor-blade, as any worth their salt should have some.

hi everyone,

time change already in the US ?

I think we have at least three more weeks of winter-time over here

in the traffic news on radio today:

Warnung!
in Gelnhausen (next town from me) is an aggresive St.Bernard Dog on the loose.
Don't try to touch the Animal or go near it, please call the police if you see it

O.o
they did not say if its name is Cujo

Get in the Pinto!

Fun fact: Stephen King was so deep in his various addictions when he wrote Cujo, he has no recollection of writing the book.

Sounds heavenly.

news on Cuj... the dog:

Apparently some complete Idiots broke into the Animal Shelter and subdued (and hurt) the watchdogs.
then they let lose some horses and donkeys and two dangorous dogs (the St.Bernard and another one who is caught already)
the St. Bernard bit and wounded at least one Idiot, because they found human blood

Ugh. Worst possible time for time change of course. I always end up in a cranky sleepy daze for like a month after spring time change....and I have an important and difficult final on Monday. >.<

But I knew it had to be coming soon cause I finally got myself fully adjusted from the last time change...that usually happens about two weeks before it changes back. :/

I did a presentation last year for speech class on why daylight savings time was a bad thing. It totally got the rant out of my system. Too bad for my family this year that they don't get a reprieve from the rant about why daylight savings time should be abolished. I have to vent my sleep-deprived rage somewhere. :P

I had kind of an interesting time at the Jimmy John's drive-thru tonight.

Jimmy John's Employee: "I'm so glad you chose Jimmy John's tonight. What can I make for you?"

Me: "I'd like a number 10 with no tomatoes..."

JJE: "We sure do hate them tomatoes."

Me: "Add bacon..."

JJE: "I would love to put bacon on your sandwich."

Me: "And easy hot peppers."

JJE "Yum, yum. We love those hot peppers, but not too many."

Me: "That's all."

JJE: "You sure? You don't want some delicious chips or a tasty soda? Or how about one of our yummy cookies?"

Me: "No thanks, just the sandwich."

JJE: "Okay, that'll $7.76. I'll be waiting for you at the window."

I pull around to the window.

JJE: "That'll seven hundred and seventy-six of those little old pennies."

I hand him my debit card.

JJE: "Oh, plastic. So much more convenient than carrying a pocket full of change. Here's your card back, your receipt, a napkin, and your wonderful sandwich. I hope to see you again soon."

Me: "Good night."

JJE: "Yes. Yes it certainly is."

I wonder what's in the special sauce over there... If so, I hope they share. I will) for a Jimmy John's when I'm heading out of town for conventions.

Our Jimmy Johns is nowhere near that,... Friendly. :)

If it was, they would have a LOT more customers!

I would never go back again.

We consider building a fort out of cardboard boxes and bins in the dispatch area.

Today I proposed that we ignite the disposal stock and fire burning mobiles with a catapult made of rubber bands we have in excess.

Maybe I should check again if the contract includes NDA or not... Nah. Now I want to rest my brain. Maybe I should kill some monsters in under Torchlight.

I opened long not touched Stalker file... Now officially being renamed shadowjack (with possible change for one of the other names). Maybe I'll update the stalker thread in the homebrew section some time in the future. We'll see.

Honestly, I feel the same way. I think that it's due to my biggest problem with the setting in general--rampant anachronism. It feels like the developers wanted to create about six or seven separate campaign settings with different levels of magic and tech, and with different flavor, and in the end decided to just mash them together into one.

In Cheliax, you get a microcosm of this--elements that work fine on their own, but make no sense mashed together. Contrast with Varisia, which feels a lot more like a unified setting of its own, and has some really original elements that actually make sense in context.

Diphenhydramine is a hell of a drug. I've got pretty bad insomnia, and none of the regular over-the-counter woo-woo supplements (I'm looking at you, melatonin) do a damn thing for me. I used to just drink straight NyQuil, but that always gave me hangovers the morning after.

So, I found this s#%% called "Simply Sleep" at Rite-Aid, which is basically just Benadryl minus a couple of ingredients, and thought I'd give it a shot. Big f$!*ing mistake. I "simply slept" for about 16 or 17 hours, during which I had weird lucid dreams, and, according to my roommate's boyfriend, a bout of sleepwalking.

And now that I've finally left Bat Country, it's the middle of the f*%$ing night. Looks like another 24 waking hours before I attempt this s#@+ again...

I don't feel the same way, but I see where you're coming from. I truly hate Forgotten Realms, but I enjoyed Thay, and so I run Cheliax with a very Thayan feel. I do understand that Golarion feels like a bunch of different settings with different tech and magic levels COMPLETELY, but for me, that works. I'm not into settings with homogenous or truly bipolar magic and tech levels- I like a variety of levels and strange neighbors..

I realized when I got to work this morning that I missed my entire face shaving.

(As in, I forgot altogether.) It's not the first time I didn't shave before going to work, but it's the first time it was entirely by accident.

Silver Crusade

Evening, all. What did I miss?
