Speaking of meetings: Does anyone else have a problem with the growing exponentially in both size and scope?

I was in a meeting yesterday, attendants were two architects, a builder, a council officer, a building inspector / certifier, a fire brigade officer and two fire engineers ... at one point about half an hour in one of the guys spoke up with, “So what exactly is the point of having this meeting?”

And after that long and somewhat pointless meeting, why oh why did I waste yet more of my time when I got back by posting in a paladin thread?

Arizona? I've never heard of it...

Wait! Yes, I remember! That's the mythical land to the west, from whence came Spoony!

That's too bad.

Spoiler:
He seems to be a naturally gifted photographer. Has he considered something like Teresa Berg's project to help more pets become adopted? It would get him out of the apartment and exercising his talent, and at the same time, helping needing pets find loving homes.

Add my +1 to the hopes and best wishes for you on your possible job.

Now I know why people are making threads about OTD needing to be more entertaining. This post failed to entertain me at all. A prime example of crap, indeed, but I don't know what it has to do with the old days. The days before HOT LINKS?

Aberzombie's Really Grim Fairy Tales:

The Liar Who Got What He Deserved, and Then Some

A young man who had once left his sister to the not-so-tender mercies of a fierce ogre was riding through the woods when he came upon a familiar clearing. It was the clearing where he'd abandoned his sister to the monster. Later, he'd lied to his parents and told them she'd run off.

As the young man reminisced, his horse was startled by a sudden noise and threw him off. When he fell, he pierced his leg on a shard of bone sticking from the ground. As the man lay there bleeding, out from the woods stepped the same ogre from years before.

"I remember you." Said the Ogre. "You let me eat your sister."

"Please, oh terrible lord," Said the young man," I've hurt my leg. It was stabbed by this bone. Can you help me? I promise I'll give you 10 goats from my farm."

"Not this time, little liar." said the ogre.

So the ogre took the boy back to his home and did terrible, ogre things to him for an entire month. Then, finally, the ogre said, "Now I'm going to eat what's left of you, little liar, but I wanted you to know something first. That bone that pierced your leg and allowed me to catch you? It belonged to your sister."

The young liar screamed as he died.

The End?

I don't believe it.

I didn't before now... tell you what, strip down, put on the leather chaps and nipple tassels, and show us how well you can dance.

Thanks you Mairkurion. Dealing with a new manager, district manager, and a regional manager for the last two weeks. Don't you just love the New Year already. I smell doom when it pertains to job security.

I'm playing in two new PBeM games. I'm crossing my fingers that they will last more than two months.

Also, I've weening myself off Skyrim with some success.

Last night on the overnight shift!

Plus, 6 days off coming up. For once, schedule changes are working in my favor.

minor interview rant:
My second phone interview with Amazon reverted to the annoying "What are the textbook answers to these questions?" which annoyed me the very first time I got a call. I kind of, maybe, see where they're going, but I've been doing this for 20 years, and I really shouldn't have to spend an hour telling you about hash tables at a basic level or go through a discussion about how to combine two sorted arrays. It's challenging, but not in the way they think--more of a "Oh, I have to study for my CSC 102 exam, so I better cram on my notes on B-Trees and Quick Sort." The job is for a *senior* engineer position; surely, we could talk about something a little more interesting. Especially when I ask how they use the things they just asked me about, and the response is, "Well we just use libraries." (which I did mention during the interview, just in case they wanted to make sure I was aware of libraries). I didn't get frustrated during the interview, and I answered the questions reasonably well, I think. So, I'll see. I am learning what kind of interview I'd like to give if it were me doing the interviewing. :)

I worked hard to earn my moobs, so I'm not giving them up.

I'm a pro at MTTH. I do that for tips at my pole dancing job I moonlight for to pay for my college education so I can speak three languages fluently.
