Hey everyone. I apologize for disappearing (wait, who am I again?). It's been a rough couple of weeks. My dad is still in the hospital after his surgery. He went to rehab for a couple of days, wasn't eating, and wound up back in the emergency room. He's now back in a regular hospital room.

I was planning to visit next week, but I'm thinking I want to drive (or fly) down today or tomorrow.

My friend, you're in my heart and prayers, as is your family.

EDIT: I am, however, clothed.

Pretty sure someone's getting fired for this.

Tiny T-Rex's teacher called the school, which called the bus company which called the driver who was actually only three blocks away (as someone that used to do landscaping in the area i understand the difficulty of parking).

So it's all good, he got there before the other parent chaperones could freak out (i don't freak out), so he'll probably keep his job.

oh no there are dozens of ways to spell it. I was really confused when i discovered my stepfathers vintage erotica magazines.

Why I didnt take those with me when mom left, I don't know. He had some real honest to god classics on video that I can only find truly poor versions of on adult websites.

Well, my day and weekend might have just gotten interesting. I was doing a final debug before we hand off a course. All my stuff was in bed days ago, so it was going to be a pretty relaxing day.

We just had a full-on crash of ALL of our demo machines. We're talking hundreds of terabytes down.

The chances of IT getting all that back up and resurrected today is... low...
...which means I might have an enforced day off today (which I'm not ready for) and I might have to work on Monday (which I'm not ready for).

Cross your fingers for me!

Funny part of the field trip was when college student asked Tiny T-Rex's class if anyone was learning how to read and write to raise their hand and no one did and this little girl pipes up "we already every word!"

How does NobodysHome feel about Whole Foods?

NobodysWife: Did you get my email?
NobodysHome: Oh, the one on Amazon delivering from Whole Foods?
NW: Yeah. Seems like it has potential
NH: Yeah, I'll at least look at it. I wish it was at a store I trusted and actually shopped from. Every time I go into Whole Foods I walk out empty-handed and feeling angry. So not exactly my favorite store
NW: LOL. Yeah, but on Amazon you can be like, ok I need paper towels and frozen peas. Plus bring NW her beer :P
NH: Right, and Whole Foods won't carry anything except recycled paper towels made from endangered owl droppings, frozen peas picked by disadvantaged children in Guatalajara that got a bit smashed during transport, and beer you've never heard of from a Czechoslovakian working out of his basement in East Oakland.

What's unnerving is that, in voicemail, Freehold's voice sounds very similar to the Pseudo-Russian's voice in voicemail. So he could potentially call and pretend to be the pseudo-Russian and possibly fool someone.

I shrugged and said, "Oh, he actually reads the fine print on the back of the packaging!"

If you can buy notecards at the zoo made with recycled elephant poop paper, then owl pellet paper towels sound pretty damned logical to me.

Also, I've been checking FAWTL in-between a lengthy annual inspection with the fire marshal (who looks a bit like Freehold but taller and clearly works out a lot), and cleaning out the school attic and hauling boxes down a flight of stairs to the dumpster and moving shelving units *up* the stairs.

So I'm sure I am behind on my internet frivolity.

Continued encouragement and well-wishes for your father, taig! (good to see ya, btw)

In other news:

1) I'll be traveling to Las Vegas at the end of this month to spend time with my significant other . . . .. Quite an interesting development for me!! Huzzah!

2) My SWEU homebrew game is finally off and running with some smoothness. We had to dump three of our initial seven players for flaking out, which is kinda saddening yet understandable. But, so far, our group of met-by-happenstance characters have avoided becoming statistical footnotes during a Mando-commando bounty-hunting raid, and are burning sky off Nar Shaddaa to avoid being punished for a guilty-by-association situation (a character's former employer ordered the kidnap job, and now his new employers think he was a lure for the target). Oh, and they bounced their commissioned ship off an airspeeder (piloted by a drunk) while trying to break out of the grav well before four snubfighters shoot them down.

I am having an absolute BLAST with it so far. :D
