I felt kinda bad, but that was what he was set up to do. If she'd just moved, I would've gotten a great shot in on the sorceror! heh heh.

I think the paladin thinks I'm out to get her. I'm not...though I can see how it'd look that way the last couple months...

The sorceror, on the other hand...

As long as Jess leaves the Fighter/Cavalier alone I am very happy.

What, you sore?

Nah, the bard king has avoided any serious mishaps, though one particular worg was problematic early in his career. He now wears its skin as a cloak. XD

+1. And it's good to see that your sense of humor at least is still working just fine. I hope this time you can get rid of the cancer for good.

Cross your fingers, all, that my partner lands one of these jobs he's applying for. They would be awesome.

His photography hasn't been very profitable, but he has found a few Italian teaching jobs that popped up randomly. (High school Italian teachers aren't exactly in demand.)

One pays really well, in the NYC area. Yes, yes. I know. We just moved. But the job would be worth it, and is long term (i.e. his contract would be up for renewal the next year - no set end date).

The other is here in L.A., and is just a maternity leave fill-in, but that would be a great help for the time being. Apparently they are desperate to find a qualified Italian teacher for this position - only a handful of schools in Southern California offer it, so no one around here really gets a certification in it.

Good luck to your partner!

Thank you both. Some good news on this front would be so so so welcome right now.

I have three active PBP characters. Cleric of Gorum (he's been a lot of fun to play), a Half Orc Barbarian, and an Oread fighter. Also, about to start gm'ing my first PBP.

In real life, I am gm'ming a Rise of the Runelords game. We are about to finish the fourth book.

Damn I hate cancer. Hang in there, Nathan, and keep us updated, if you will.

I missed out on a day's worth of posts. Hopefully, I didn't miss anything really important.

I'm 43 (as of September), and the latest round of news, and everything going on with my family, is really making me feel my age.

My grandmother has been put on Seroquel and placed into a nursing home. Supposedly, this is a "typical progression" for Alzheimer's.

I took the offer to work from home with my current employer. My wife and daughter are certainly thrilled about it (my son's reaction was not unexpected--"Will this affect whether I can get on the Internet?"). I made a couple of un-fun phone calls, but the guy who was going to be my boss again understood my situation, while being disappointed about me not working there.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother Taig. On the better side of life, my new PC is working like a charm and my father, if all goes well, will be released from the hospital after Thanksgiving. This year, however, its just mother and I for turkey day.

Going into my 40s as of this year and it makes me think about my own mortality.

I think I posted a run down of my active characters in the thread TOZ linked.

I'm running an Age of Worms (PF) and a homebrew PF game in play by post, ane very occasionally still get the old group together for our very long running and very slow 3.5 Shackled City game that I've been running for many years.

I do not know why but I cant stand the class. Yet honestly I have but glanced at the abilities.

I may change my mind later. I just saw no reason for the class.

My cleric uses create beer/create wine to good effect for the morale on the ship the party owns. :)

The Inquisitor (to my eye) is very much a blend of ranger, paladin and cleric, although they have some unique abilities too.

In a way I don’t think any of the new base classes beyond those in the Core rulebook are needed. I think you can cover most of the character concepts of these new classes using the core classes (including multiclassing). The main exception probably being the alchemist. But generally the new classes can achieve their concept better or more efficiently than if they were built using the core classes.

I like the inquisitor. One of my PFS characters is an Inquisitor of Gorum and he is just coming into his own now that he has reached level 3. He started out as a guard for Taldor, but I think before his next adventure, he is going to switch to the Shadow Lodge.

Flavor wise, I like the concept of the rogue priest who does the dirty work of the church in the interest of good. They are less encumbered by rules like paladins are.

I am still waiting for an urban arcane ranger type. Magus is sooo close, but not plus I hate the name. Of course that is a minor quibble. I think the archtypes help a bit though, both for the magus and the bard.

You're looking for a full BaB 4 level casting arcane fighter analogous to the ranger/paladin?

I am soooooooo there. :) My 3.5 Human Paragon/Wizard/Crusader/Jade Phoenix Mage is the closest I've gotten to this concept. I don't like the magus either, because I don't want a guy throwing lightning bolts as he swings his sword - I want a guy that uses arcane magic instead of feats to improve his fighting ability. :)

Bazinga!!! there we go. The nearest I have come to this is Monte Cook's Runeblade.

I was one of the first people around here to ask for this type of class and what did I get....Magus. Even the name doesn't work.

Trying to sort through classes. Schedule not working. >.<
Also feeling like I'm so far behind where I should be. I'm trying to get through my basic chem and math classes, but so far it looks like it's gonna take a full year longer than originally planned. :(
And I've run out of bio courses that aren't aimed specifically for nursing students.

And now to go take a math test. Hopefully the rest of you are having a much less stressful morning. :)

Check out The Black Company campaign setting for 3.5 D and D. It has the best noble I've ever seen.

In fact, after a cursory review, it has some of the best 3.x material I've seen, PERIOD. You don't even have to like the setting, the crunch is just awesome.

Oh, and apparently I'm nekkid.
