Jason will take a healthy dose of scotch and dig into the posts. While he has his light hearted moments, I expect a tolerate no fools battering ram on this topic.
As I fear DC will not happen, I will have to toast him from afar rather than at the gaming table.
I wonder if I can amazon scotch to his house...

Before the shutdown this spring, when the construction on our new middle school building started at my school, a coworker and I were watching the construction workers maneuver a couple of bobcats through the trees at what was, for them, probably an impressive pace.
Coworker: WOW. That's some skill.Me: Meh. I've got a friend who can shave an angry bear with one of those.
Coworker: ...

I am afraid I may have instigated an InstaCart driver riot.
(1) We have not been to Costco in 3 months, so the list of our "essentials" was massive (49 separate items we need refills on). As a result, it was our single-most-expensive Costco purchase ever, not including appliance or furniture purchases.
(2) If a delivery service pays its drivers through tips, I know it's screwing them over, so I refuse to tip the drivers less than 15% of the total bill on principle.
As a result, there is an order with a triple-digit tip and instructions to "just dump it all in my driveway" sitting at the Richmond Costco.
I suspect that will be a desirable order to fulfill. Other than the 200+ pounds of stuff they'll have to lug.
EDIT: And there you have it. It went from, "Your order might be ready as early as noon tomorrow" to "xxx is shopping your order right now" in the time it took to post this.
Gee... treating people as decent human beings who deserve a living wage gets them to go the extra mile for you. What a concept! :-O

Success! Sort of. There is a pattern to proton/neutron shells, but the subshells throw a wrench into it. There seems to be disagreement on how the subshells are ordered, so trying to incorporate subshells into my diagram has been...frustrating.

Eve's MBA graduation is in two weeks.
I cannot put into words how incredibly proud I am of her... as a single mom, on public assistance, she requested a formal hearing to get a one-year MBA intensive program to qualify for the "up to one year of education for job training purposes", because her BFA was in acting performance, and other than acting/modeling/singing, the rest of her resume is bartending/nightclub management... none of which are great career choices for a single parent.
And the only way she could do it in one year was to take 12-15 hours *every quarter*, including summer sessions. And she stayed clean throughout the pressure. Not always sober, but clean.
Considering that ten years ago, Mom and I were bracing ourselves for the likelihood that she wouldn't make it to forty, this is huge.

On the plus side,...
FRIDAY!Time to finally take out the wife for our anniversary dinner!
Also, time to prep for the minor-yet-headed-directly-for-us-hurricane.
Win-Meh? O_o
Ours is tomorrow. (21st)
But considering that we can't drop the kids with the grandparents right now, and new cases in Dallas are still on the rise because [lengthy political rant removed], we're probably just going to pick up some takeout and set the patio table in the back yard.

Ok, I’m not “Freehold Pissed”, but when I looked up InstaCart to see whether or not to do business with them, the first few posts were about buyers promising big tips to get faster service and then withdrawing them once the food was delivered. So:
1) InstaCart had a 30% markup over Costco prices. Now I know. And I’m sure the drivers see almost none of that. So no, InstaCart, I won’t be using you again because your markup is too high. 10-15% gives you a decent margin. 30% is just too steep.
2) The FIRST thing out of the driver’s mouth was, “Please don’t cut my tip!” Seriously? It’s THAT endemic? People really are scum. When I told her the tip was honest, she did a little dance. It was cute, but depressing.
EDIT: OK, the InstaCart markup was 19.4%. But considering that it was for sending her a shopping list, it's still too steep for them.

It is THAT BAD, our neighbor drives for them and the stories she's told us about tip scamming are astounding.

That is shady. I am increasing the default tips on every delivery service I use these days. But I shouldn’t be surprised people are scummy.

They removed the "Aslan" post. Color me flabbergasted.
Paizo always remove posts that quote posts that removed during moderation, no matter the number of nesting - I think that happens even if you only quoted innocent parts. (I am not sure if it is matter of the engine used or simply a matter or policy - there might have been cases of posts being overlooked removed later)
I don't remember if Freehold's post was containing quotes - it might be what caused their removal too.

My post still stands, and he made an amusing post quoting mine about misreading my post. As the OP, I found his response funny and light-hearted. I cannot think that someone thought it offensive, but what do I know?
