Hnn. I'm having trouble myself. It's forcing me to sign in with my Facebook account, which I only use for professional stuff. Here's hoping it stops acting weird.

So freehold what is it about FB that wounds you up so? The billion people requests? The untold number of stupid vids. The annoying simplistic games? The lack of security?

hmm maybe you have a point.

It did however help me get caught up with several old friends. If only to know they are doing well.

hi everyone

Again I say, Huzzah!!

I hear tell that Freehold DM conceived the idea for Facebook and some college kids stole his idea and got rich.

Players. They drive me and Treppa bonkers. I don't need much advice dealing with them, since we plan to not game with them further. Our current campaign is coming to a close, which will be a relief. Even if we continued the current characters into further adventures, we wouldn't invite them back. I appreciate the offer for advice though. We've mentioned it a few other places and gotten some feedback about what to do already, but most of it is too little too late. If we weren't down to the last 4 sessions or so, we'd have totally wanted any advice you'd share. :)

I feel your pain. The current group I'm in is not clicking. My wife much preferred gaming with Kirth and houstonderek and Jess. And the guy I started this group in Austin for, so I could specifically run SCAP for, and he could play the SS ghaele, is one of the biggest albatrosses holding the group down. We actually have more fun when he doesn't show up. :/ It's gotten to the point where I will probably go down while my wife stays home, and once I finish this campaign, hope for PCS orders so I have an excuse to stop gaming with them. It's pretty horrible, I know. Of course, even if I don't get transferred, the group is looking pretty untenable due to the hosts preparing for a baby that should be born around the time I get back, and the albatross just had his second kid a year ago, which means his free time is going to rapidly diminish as the two get older.

Life's a b!~~@.

Spoiler:
We had a guy holding Treppa's SCAP game hostage like that too. He wouldn't want us to play if he couldn't be there (anyone else would just hand their character to the GM or another player and ask them to play in their absence) and he'd take whole months off when we could be playing. It really sucked all the life out of the game. When we moved on to Second Darkness we played ONE session before we started having issues with him again and I told Treppa I wasn't going to play with him anymore. She agreed, and we shut down that campaign and moved on to a new group.

Now we've just got annoying players. Those can be dealt with, but a guy like the above just shouldn't be gaming with a fairly steady group like ours. He's more cut out for PFS.

Studpuffin & TOZ

Spoiler:
A fair amount of drama going on in my games too. Some of it is understandable, some of it is just plain weird or even petty. I'm not going to go into details myself, but I'm hoping that things smooth out over the next few games. We've hit bumps in the road before and we've dealt with them, I'm confident we'll do so again.

Grand Lodge

Spoiler:
It's not that we have to play with him or anything like that. He just doesn't really roleplay. He doesn't know his character. He's not up on his abilities. And when he's playing a Savage Species eladrin with cleric spellcasting AND spell-like abilities, that's a problem. He just doesn't know the game that well and doesn't take the time to learn it.

Also, I didn't know you and Treppa knew each other IRL. That's pretty cool. :)

So, we hit the road yesterday. (Two days later than planned, but oh well.) Spent the night at a cheap place in Ohio. Now we're in Indiana (SO MUCH CORN) and hoping to make St. Louis today.

Good luck, safe travels and all that.

And I know what you mean about Indiana. Lived in Indianapolis for about a year and I remember freaking out on the way there when we were moving because all there was was corn and I was all where is the city already? :)

I'm going to be cutting down through Oklahoma and west on I20, so no Kansas.

I may have to look up SP and Treppa, though.

44 down to OKC it sounds like... The scenic view is a little longer but they don't charge a toll. Or well they did not a few years ago. Also if you stop by the OKC memorial, it's down town and you have good parking at either the church or the Post office across the street. It's well worth the few minutes it takes to visit.

I did see some guy building a baseball diamond. The ghosts of Christmases past, present, and future showed up. I don't think that's what he wanted.

No shit. It was warm (but not crazy) in NY, and it's mild in Los Angeles, but obscenely hot everywhere we are driving in between.

Oh, crazy! The store is just off of I-70, which you might be taking through here. I'm here until 9 p.m. Do you know where you're staying?

Well in the Hobbit, on the initial descriptions all it says are things like Kili He had a blue cloak and a yellow beard. Yet in the combat scenes Swords are almost always mentioned. If any weapons are at all. Some things do not even come out at all, like the fact that Kili and Fili are really young. You only find those sorts of things out by the appendices in LotR. Or that a full 1/2 of the Dwarves are Cousins.

We booked a cheap place in Hazelwood near the airport.

Not all that close to O'Fallon, sadly.

If you know a good place, we'd love to meet up. I'll FB message you.

I will warn you, though, we may not get there until 7:30 or so.

Not necessarily for meeting up, but we'll probably want to eat before that.

I mean Kili is silly because they are clearly going for the Orlando Bloom factor with that acor/character. He looks like an elf.

And I don't remember swords in the book, beyond Orcrist that is. I remember they hunted with bows in Mirkwood but I don't remember any other weapons mentioned at all. I like the different weapons for the most part, especially that hammer/pick and the TWF Dwarven machetes!

Congrats on your move + trip, CH, and hope you, Treppa, and SP all have a great meetup tonight.
