I've forgotten how much fun it is to do solo gestalt games, full speed ahead!

Tiring as fk though, and I expect there will be delays later as I prepare the rest of the AP.

Keeps me so busy I forget to wear clothes.

Yes I am. East Peoria now. Grew up in the big empty area bordered by Kankakee (whole other story about that place) on the north, Bloomington to the west, Champaign-Urbana to the south, and Lafayette IN to the east. In the middle of that you won't find any single town beyond maybe 6000 people other than Rantoul, which is basically a northern suburb of Champaign.
East Peoria, huh? Looks like you're about 90 miles from me (I live in Urbana now, but spent 9 or 10 years in Rantucky. Sorry, Rantoul.).
For some reason in my head I had you in Chicago. I have some friends in Champaign. I was in Savoy just a couple weeks ago.

Not Chicago. Never Chicago. F!**ing hate Chicago.

After a quick google search I have to agree I couldn't find anything that I would want that comes from Chicago.

This is... wonderful.

I mean, it's painful, but wonderful, too.

(Okay, he's probably a great guy, but the male vocal doing the not-rap-whatever-it's-called really shouldn't be doing that, but still.)

Anyway, Abandon Ship is a game I now want, and Into the Breach looks promising. Sigh. Some glad day. XD

Also: DANG IT, CHROME, WHY DID YOU REMOVE THE ABILITY TO MUTE INDIVIDUAL TABS; I LIKED THAT FUNCTIONALITY.

(They have replaced it with the ability to mute the whole site, but that is supremely inconvenient when you have multiple tabs of the same site and want exactly one of them to play audio. Technically you can turn this feature on, but it's still not returned to your right-click menu - you have to left-click the little audio-horn-symbol, and that suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. Uuuuuuuuuuuugh.)

It is still there, you only need to enable it in flags. It took me some twenty seconds plus closing and opening Chrome to turn it on.

I have not but I am curious now.

I don't really need one, to be honest, so I won't go out of my way to get one, but it would be nice...

Now, where are those pesky kobolds?

I dunno. If you're a fan of Grand Theft Auto or Call of Duty and want to try either in real life, Chicago is a blast!

But, even then, Detroit is better.

Thats where the convention is held..or at least the hotel we stayed in (which wasn't very good, so there IS that for the critics).

The "fun" thing about dating apps: If they're interested and will actually message you back, it's probably an advertising bot or person working on commission.

If they're a real person? Don't bother if they match you. You will never, ever get a reply. Ever.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

When I was dating, an App was something you bought to show your date you care enough to take her somewhere other than McDonald's.

I never found it all that necessary.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I happen to enjoy Chicago.

Also, your mileage may vary on the dating sites. I am proof that it is possible.

As you know, I traveled for my job from 2000-2003, going to many different cities across the U.S. and Canada. I also did a 7-week tour of Europe, a 2-week tour of Australia, and another 2 weeks in Europe with NobodysWife.

In all of those travels, Chicago was the only city I visited that I really, truly despised going to. And heck, I even did Flynn, Michigan.

I don't know what it is about Chicago, but it just radiates unpleasantness like Nobody's business.

EDIT: I take it back. Brindisi, Italy was also a hellhole.

Thank you!

I knew about that, though, and it's much less convenient than it used to be, as noted:

I've enabled it, turned Chrome off, and opening it again, and it's still not in my right-click menu.

I also love this:

Quote:

"Oh, no, the idea that you might not want to hear a single tab instead of the whole site might somehow compromise your securiteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee (or lose everything you've ever loved, information-wise)."

>:/

For the curious, it's only searching "chrome://flags" in the bar up top, and it's the very first option. Still doesn't work like the old one did (at least not for me).

My brother-in-law met his now-wife via online dating service - I don't know if it was an AP or not, but it's the same principle.

Can't vouch for the validity of most, though.

Well Chicago is supposed to be home to sports teams, and has the world's biggest public library so there has to be some good down there, right?

Never lived in a city with more then 260.000-ish people and never lived in one with less then around a 1000.
But I must confess that I'm probably not really a "big city" person. Love the space, the animals and the pace of rural life to much I guess.
Then again I'm in Denmark. There's like 85% rural districts here.

I've done alright out of them - I met my present and previous girlfriends that way - but you should expect to send out a lot of messages and get no response before someone gets back in touch. It's the same for everyone.

I cannot confirm nor deny the craptastic nature of Sacramento, having never been there.

But Ocala, FL...wow...what a pile... ;)

I'm adaptable enough that I can be fine in small towns or in large cities. Just different kinds of headaches to deal with, and both have inherent advantages. Except Atlanta. I have yet to find a compelling case for Atlanta. But it's why I tend to gravitate towards what I think of as small-to-mid-size metro areas as a balancing point. Big enough to have good array of options for most areas of life, small enough that it's easy to get out to the country to see the stars.
