I'm back. Been doing a plethora of outside stuff while we still had some sun (squee!). Crocii are up here, and my garlic is sending out first shoots as well. Time to get dinner and baby monkey cared for.
I posted another post, I swear, and it disappeared. I thought it ghosted and tried to *blink* it out and it flat out disappeared. Weird.

I had the same thing happen to me recently. The really odd thing for me was that it was showing in my history, but when I clicked on it there, it couldn't seem to find it.
There must be some phantom *clicking* going on...

For me it wasn’t so much a movie, but when I was about 8 I borrowed a book about vampires, werewolves, ghouls and other ‘classic’ horrors from the library. It was meant for much older readers and had a lot of stories about ‘actual’ sightings and encounters with the creatures. Scarred me for years. Fortunately, RPGs a few years later were good therapy.

Well book wise it was when I found Lovecraft in my JR. High Library. I also found out we had every book from him in the library system. I must have driven the librarians nuts ordering them all from the various schools in the district.

I'd put it in the 3.5 area. There seem to be fewer trolls there nowadays...
Indeed, it is a new paradise. I need to start posting in the aasimar/tiefling/resurrection threads again.

Which got me wondering. Do any of you have a movie that you probably watched too early and had a scene or two in it that still creeps you out today?
The creatures from the Dark Crystal still freak me out. Not the bad guys, the regular characters. I dont' know what it is about them, but they make me back away, perhaps the only thing I have an unreasonable fear of.

The first episode of Friday the 13th the Series has a similar thing with dolls.
I am a huge fan of this series, I'm watching it again through netflix. Would LOVE to turn each of those items into a true cursed magic item for D&D/PF, even the ones whose abilities were never mentioned- snowshoes, top hat, sacrificial dagger, etc.

I am off of work for nine days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am off from the main job until next Tuesday. I am off from the second job tonight, as I worked the Black Party yesterday. I don't think I've ever worked there on a Friday before, it was more subdued than the Saturday.

You also have an unreasonable fear of Josh Whedon. There is a cure for that you know.

I really think Friday the 13th/The X-files/Warehouse 13 took much of their inspiration from Bureau 13, the obscure little RPG from the early eighties that failed to really take off. I have a friend who says the rules system pretty much blew, but the concept is great. We play a B13 game online via Maptools and Teamspeak. Warehouse 13 is especially similar, with them being a Gov. agency.

Honestly I was in awe of bureau 13 and have slipped little things about the game into several other things I have run. The game system was crapola but the story was great. Abe Lincoln creates the 13th bureau of the federal government to combat vampires and other fiends then goes on to help run it from beyond the grave. Awesome sauce.
