A high of forty with clouds and windy was our forecast for today.

Instead, we get fifty degrees, sunny and no wind, just an occasional breeze.

I love you El Nino leap year!

if today wasn't our anniversary.... grumble grumble

I am clueless.

Hopefully you will tell us later?

Re-read Freehold's post, look at today's date, and understand that my parents shared their anniversary with Freehold...

...and if they hadn't straddled the millenium (2000), our anniversaries wouldn't have coincided.

(If that isn't enough, let me know and I'll post after work.)

I'm guessing...

Spoiler:
The parents weren't married until their kids got married.

On a total side note, I am now 274 days alcohol-free, and I'm actually pondering a gin and tonic after work.

Why? Stress? Cravings? Heat? Illness?

Nah.

I'm running an insane 12,000-year-old outsider tonight, and I know darned well I'm a *much* better GM (and cook*) when I've been drinking.

I want to make it memorable for the kids.

Unfortunately, if I give myself one excuse, I'll think of another, so I'm probably stuck sober.

Feh.

It would have been fun!

(*Seriously. NobodysWife called it "Drunken Chef" (to go with Drunken Master kung fu). Somehow when I drank I lost all inhibitions, and the dishes I made were amazing. She even took to asking me to drink if I was making a "special occasion" dinner. And they'd ask me to have a gin and tonic if we were about to do a long roleplay session. They've been VERY good about not asking me to drink, but I am very much hoping that the kids will remember tonight's game for a LOOOOOONG time...)

Actually, the wording of your riddle offers another answer.

" Yet my wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in the same year they did. "

Parse it as: my wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in the same year (my parents) (celebrated the 10th anniversary of me and my wife).

At that point it's a truism that isn't mysterious at all.

We got an inch and a half of snow.

Pea Bear literally cried when she looked out the window this morning.

The general was a little salty herself.

Even the dog looks a little sad.

But, it's only for three days, then it's back up in the forties and fifties, so it's all good. :-)

Why did she cry? Was it too beautiful for her to see all at once?

How to make yourself think you're going crazy, without actually going crazy.

Place a Zither with the strings facing it, in front of a vent, place two sheets of cardboard over the Zither and vent, insert a cold morning, thus the general turns up the heat.

I can't really explain the strange humming-ringing sound that emitted, only that I'll never forget it, and I'm glad I don't have an alien in my head like that old Mtv show, The Head.

I'm also glad I wasn't the only one that heard it. :-D

So, how does multi-class work with hybrid classes, I'm pretty sure Pea Bear is gonna want to start going swashbuckler with her Android fighter, is it business as usual like I assume.

Interestingly, last night's session went very much as scripted (writeup coming tonight), and *I* found it very enjoyable, but my players seemed a bit down.

I think I may have laid on the poignancy a wee bit too much.

But I *did* get to run basilisk hide-and-seek, and it was just as fun (for me) as I'd been hoping! :-P

The hybrid classes multiclass the same as regular classes, except if there is overlapping class features, then it gets wonky. Swash and fighter blend seamlessly. Swash and gunslinger is where it gets weird with grit and panache.

I've been on my new insulin pump for a full day now, and I may need to go from a feast-or-famine meal schedule to a more birdlike one, but so far so good.

If you add Emma Watson to your order, I'll split the two-for-one rate with you.

You can now get egg grabbers, for those kids that are such pieces of s+!#, they can't pick up a g&@#++n plastic eggs with their bare hands.

More likely used to throw dog s!$& at each other.

The two for one rate only applies to deliveries in Utah, I'm afraid.

And since I didn't see this listed in the "official" FaWtL rules list (a.k.a. Freehold's Peeves of the Minute or Second), I'll spoiler for TacticsLion and a few other Serpent's Skull readers:

Trivial Jade Regent spoiler, combined with a pretty big Serpent's Skull one:

So I've been rather amazed that, rather than playing her as a koo-koo kannon, I've been playing the Muse as a broken treasure, and not a single one of the kids has said, "Hey, we need to heal her!"
If this were my RotRL group, they would have already sold everything they owned to ship in a cleric capable of casting Heal. The kids? They have an oracle AND, on rare occasions, a cleric, and not a single one has even asked about it. (I figure knowing that Heal can cure insanity is a really simple DC 15 Heal check or so, but I'm waiting for them to ask...)

It will be interesting because in the Jade Regent game the group (mainly the RotRL crowd) has rescued a group of tortured insane prisoners, so badly broken that Impus Minor had to use Handle Animal on them rather than Diplomacy. And they're taking a frigging week off their trip solely to allow their cleric to queue up enough Heals to cure all of the prisoners.

So... once Impus Minor plays out that scenario on Saturday the 12th, will he put 2 and 2 together and have Hooken suddenly declare, "We need a scroll of Heal, and we need it NOW!!!!!"?

I'm interested in seeing how it plays out.
