Also, my mom got us a gas grill for our birthdays (mine is the 27th) and I went with her to pick it up.

The guy at the store thought I was some kind of monster for letting my mom lift things while I did not... I felt like I had to display my injuries so he wouldn't judge me.

Anyway..... We have a gas grill!

Reason #37 to have a bad-a$$ mom.

My mother is 5'3", occasionally tops 100 pounds, yet:

  • After having a 1" cube of flesh removed from her arm due to a melanoma and being absolutely forbidden to ski a week after surgery, went snow shoeing instead.
  • At 68, when a grizzly mom and cub blocked her group from doing a 3-mile "valley flower" hike in Alaska, suggested to the ranger that, "Maybe we can go around this way instead." Cue the poor ranger being led on a TWENTY-THREE MILE death march as my mom kept wanting to see "one more thing" and he was too macho to say, "No more, lady! You're hiking me to death!!"
  • At 75, I was walking with her on Fourth Street in Berkeley and I turned left when she turned right. Outweighing her by a factor of 2, she went sprawling on the concrete. Cue 15-20 angry young men ready to defend her from me. And there, sprawled on the concrete, she burst out laughing, defusing the situation instantly.

She has many irritating facets, but she's a bad-a$$. No one denies that...

I think it's g$!*%~n hilarious that once you hit level 10 or so, Shepard has more hit points, better shields, and deals more damage than a tank. Want to kill a thresher maw? Forget that circle-strafe s~~~, just get out of the space car and shoot it 20 times with a pistol. You get way more experience, too. Go figure.
You are telling me that I was wasting time waiting for the cannon to reload all this times and should be killing those worms personally?!
Pretty much. The acid spit is easier to dodge on foot as well, and they only burrow if you're in the Mako. You can either get behind something and hit it a few times with a sniper rifle, or just run back and forth shooting at it with a pistol or assault rifle. Similar tactics also work on Geth Colossi and turrets.

I actually drive back and forth in Mako while fighting all those. Well, except the Colossi I fought on foot once.

It's a little easier to fight turrets and Colossi in the Mako-- I just do it with normal weapons because of the 50% experience point penalty on all kills made in the Mako.

I think I might put together a powerpoint of the best examples of the core classes. I love me my base and hybrids, but herding a room full of hyperactive kids whose parents signed them up for a summer camp thing is going to be taxing enough with just the originals.

Sound like fun, I GM for kids in the summer, all girls this summer, they still haven't decided if they wanted a Frozen Reign of Winter or Brave Kingmaker, previously I've done Disney's Robin Hood Kingmaker and Harry Potter Carrion Crown (The Harrowing replaced Wake of the Watcher)

I've never done this before, so I'm trying to keep it simple. Probably going to spend day one introducing the idea of characters, day two actually making them, then days three and four running Hollow's Last Hope.

it would be good if drejk could come to the gym with me. Even better if lynora could, as it is her day. Even betterest if the entire FAWtL Health Goddess Trinity could come. Preferably as one gigantic Steven Universe-esque amalgamated being.

Yeah, I tried the gym thing. Didn't care for it. Three mile hike over hilly terrain? Yes, please. Tai Chi in the park? Totally there. Yoga anywhere flat enough to set my mat? Awesome. Kayaking? Well...honestly, not really my thing, but I need to work on my arm strength, so sure. Swimming....yeah, I live in Michigan. We don't even try to swim before June unless it's an indoor pool. Which I'm not fond of. In fact, the overarching theme here is that I prefer outdoor exercise. The gym is somewhere I go in the winter because asthma and super cold temps are not a great combo for me. As soon as it thaws a bit, I'm out of there until the next December.

Edit: the only exercise I willingly do indoors is taekwondo lessons, and that kinda has to be done in a dojo. Which always smells like sweat socks. Blech.

Posting from massage chair again. Hard to post during a lynora workout - too much movement. Wasn't able to do much of the floor routine- the push ups and sit ups and planks and bridges and leg raises - the floor is filthy and I forgot my towel. Did a fair bit of inclined walking and fair bit of reclined cycling- it's amazing how low calorie burn can be despite your level of activities. Something to think about...

Did a martial arts exercises for first time in forever including slow movements. Forgot a bit but that's important too. Small steps.

Okay. Going to cool down a bit, charge phone, eat some ziti I saved, and then get home. Maybe the futon will be repaired....

Well, not sitting, but if you have an exercise machine or treadmill you can always set it up in front of your TV/Computer and run with it that way.

I always wanted to put the treadmill in my room at my parents' place so I could get my walking done and play Final Fantasy/Pokemon/whatever other game I was on at the same time. Stairs and narrow hallways in their house made it impractical.
