Huh. This post made me realize just how different the three depictions of Kyra really are:
The lips, the nose, the skin, and even the eyes and eyebrows are all definitely different.
I really thought the Unchained one was supposed to be Seelah (maybe with a weird art mistake, or even talking about the multiclassing thing by giving Seelah Kyra's stuff or something) at first because of the radical darkening of her skin tone, but it really doesn't look like Seelah at all.
Mr. Reynolds' second take is very consistent with the first, though her depiction has varied quite a bit; especially the comics (though these two seem pretty close).
Very nifty!

Morning FaWtL folk! I hope everyone is well today and has a good one ahead of them. :) The weekend is almost here, I'm looking forward to trying to sleep in a bit. So tired. Rain predicted for the week ahead, our summer over before it began! :P It'll probably be back again some time in June though, so no biggie.

I work outdoors during winters in a place where the temperaturd can drop to below -20 C - a full beard has its uses. Also, my trimmer broke about a week before that trip, and I'd forgotten to buy a new one. ;-)

2015 so far here in Chile:
Eartquake in the far north
Flash floods in the north-centre
Rouge storms in the centre
Extreme drough in the south-centre
Volcano in the south-centre
Wildfires in the far south
And as of two days ago, add another volcano to the south-centre, with likely chances of the previous volcano pumping action back up and a third, unrelated volcano also blowing up. Massive rainstorms in the centre and severe blizzards in the south expected for late May as well, just in case the volcanoes weren't enough.
Seems the titans were buried over here after all, and someone decided to wake them up.
Stay tuned for asteroid impact, the Black Plague comming back, and the release of a previously unknown Ed Wood drama.

Thanks man. So far the volcanoes have caused no fatalities (a climber who had been lost was found yesterday) and the police managed to evacuate everyone quickly.
A friend who lives nearby told us last night the ashes were already piled up to almost 2 metres (about 6 and a half feet) in some areas, and vulcanologists have said the belching could last for several weeks. The last time that volcano exploded with noticeable strentgh, in the 1860s, it belched smoke and ash for 6 straight months, lowering Earth's temperature by about 1-2 degrees C°.
A couple of hours ago the ash plume started to be seen over here at the capital (about 1,000kms to the north), so we're likely to see ash rain on Sunday. Agentina is getting the worst part of the cloud, though, due to prevailing winds from the west.
The main concern right now is the incomming acid rain in the south and the fact that agriculture in the area will be devastated. Milk prices are skyrocketting (the affected area is our main milk and beef producting region).

In my home universe, that's how the world ended... that's why I'm here, to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Thankfully, your world has something mine didn't have. Something that keeps the infection at bay. Something that keeps the power suppressed. You know what it is... or rather, WHO it is. Who they are.
There are forces that would see them eradicated. Efforts have been made in the past to put a stop to them, to allow the apocalypse to unfold. But yet, your world has managed to not only avoid it, but to allow the suppressors to survive, to thrive, to grow strong and influential and famous.
For the time being, my work here is done... but I can't leave. Not until I'm sure it won't happen again.

10 years now I've lived in the same house, the crazy thing is it doesn't seem like it was that long!
Keep in mind in the 28 years previous to this I'd moved 28 times, and nope not an Army kid, so yeah pretty crazy, in a good way tho, just a bit weird :-)

I have to say, I actually kind of agree... riiiight up until those three really cool and smart people just kind of... disappeared. First one was actually really great right up until then - I kept waiting for them to come in and save the day somehow or show up again later or something. The action wasn't that intense for most of it, and there were several "meh" jokes, but it was mostly fun.
Too much LeBeouf, but sometimes too much is awesome.

So. Dagggum. Tired. From 9-12 we were outside at my three-year-old's "Trike-a-thon" where his entire class rode their trikes around and around for charity. It was... adorable. Their class made over $500! Three-year-olds! It's great!
But we're exhausted.
Left me just enough time to scarf lunch, set my three'fer down for a "nap" for an hour (emphasis on the quotation marks), post, use the restroom, feed my infant, and then get up and go out to infant doctor's appointment.
Today. Today is a busy day.

So... I dislike sharing such information because in the Bay Area you have to divide monetary amounts by 3-5 to get "the rest of the U.S." numbers, but this was a classic moment.
We just managed to get all our debt reconciled into a single low-interest HELOC, so we were feeling a bit flush. Feeling guilty about not donating to our fantastic school district over the years, I decided to max out my donation at $300, matched by my company for what I considered a "whopping" $600 donation.
I got the form, and it was, "This semester's donation: $500 (one child), $1000 (two children), ____ other"
I swear, I live in a totally different world from a place where a $500 PER SEMESTER PER CHILD donation is considered "the standard".
It's still cheaper than private schools, but yeesh! What happened to being thanked for going to Costco and buying some marker sets for the kids?
EDIT: TBH, for years when my wife wasn't working we went with the "time is more valuable than money" approach and she volunteered 10-15 hours a week in the classroom. Now that she's working and we can actually afford to donate a bit, it's quite off-putting to find out that our notion of "a bit" isn't even in the same league with "expected" donations.
