Nah, Scint GMs the Monday game, which is currently CoT. I'm playing in that one.
Normally I GM Kingmaker on Thursdays, but it got shunted to Fridays due to a schedule conflict. A smaller group of us still have Thursdays open so I'm starting up my Fimbulwinter Come plot with them (Scint, EbonFyre, and Ebon's husband/my brother) in the meanwhile.
I'll be putting up journals for both when they begin, as I have for KM and CoT =)

Sadly, however, they did not have anymore of the special pack containing the collectible Joker figure.
I enjoyed part 1 and thought they did an excellent job with the adaptation. Particularly, I liked David Selby as the voice of Commissioner Gordon. And they even got Frank Welker to lend his talent briefly.
As for part 2, I'm really looking forward to Michael Emerson as Joker and Robin Atkin Downes as Oliver Queen. Mark Valley should make a great Superman as well - the fight between Supes and Bats should be FAWESOME.
And I can't wait to see if they keep one of my favorite lines in from Batman to Joker: There's nothing wrong with you I can't fix with my hands.

Thanks for the well wishes. There are many who post on this thread that are in more difficult situations than I find myself in, so I wish all those unemployed, under employed, or dead-end employed FaWtLies the best in our job searches in 2013. We will not only survive, we will thrive!

to be fair to all of his detractors, I must admit he makes r. Crumb look like mother theresa sometimes. But some of the things that have been said about him in criticism are either untrue or just plain ridiculous. He singlehandedly saved daredevil back in the 80s and saved batman from becoming a tasteless joke with his work. Yes, he'san ass . I would not enjoy a meal with him. Yeah. CoT's stalling out due largely to my inexperience as a DM combined with the sort of railroady feel of a fair amount of the path (which would be fine if I knew what I was doing enough to adapt things better)...plus consistent unavoidable absences from players. It's basically culminating in newbie GM hyperventilating and flailing about going what do what do. I've run a little homebrew before, and that seemed to go much more smoothly.

Some folks have a mistaken idea that running an AP is really simple: just pick up the book and go. All the work is done for you!
Nothing could be farther from the truth. It takes a lot of study to run unfamiliar NPC's and monsters and dungeons and to do it well. Some of the AP organization and formatting is not particularly friendly for the GM. In some ways, it's much easier for a creative person to do their own thing. At least they know what's been going on and what can happen. They're not surprised two books later when the NPC they've been running suddenly turns out to have a completely different agenda than they expected.
I think there's a thread on how people prep AP's. It's not simple. Don't feel bad, Scint.

As much as I've altered in Kingmaker, it's pretty much 90% homebrew now - either mine or someone else's from here on the forum.
That is an issue I noticed with aps, and something I think paizo needs to work on(I like some of the changes I've seen in the latest adventure path). That said, I read all of Kingmaker twice before even thinking about running it, and even then I ran it with some house rules I wanted to test out for f!tsow, and included some extra NPCs just in case things did not go according to plan.

Tordek, it stinks that you lost your job. I would say grievous bodily injury is not enough for those responsible. Up to me, they'd get tied to a chair in a dark room, and get to listen to a reading of Last one to post wins. Repeatedly.

Run a variety of scenes.. Action, combat, negotiating, exploring, and so on. Take careful notes on what seems to get each player excited. Then read through their char sheets, noting especially what flaws and personalized stuff they have, and what plot points they have as back story. Use this material to challenge them and reward them for doing what they like to do. Pacing is at its core a sense of piling on while they enjoy it, then switching before they get bored, and keeping up the pace of the action scenes. Literally. You won't see them engaging in something they have to wait for an hour between turns in.

Yeah, that can be frustrating. My personal bailiwick are aps that really show that different writers have different priorities in adventures - some encourage exploration and slaughter, othersmoving ffrom point a to b as shown above and the careful application of violence with a plethora of conversation.

Indeed. I had been finding myself investing a good bit of time prepping to run Kingmaker. One of the problems with the campaign was the open-endedness - the PCs could walk in any old direction and you had to be ready.
