Is there someone here who knows how far past the sell-by date eggs tend to be eatable?
Just discovered the ones in my fridge is ten days over - and it's not like I can smell them.
Hasn't happened recently since eggs are usually eaten pretty quickly at my house, but I've used eggs that were three months old before. Not as tasty as fresh, but perfectly acceptable. If you're not sure, crack the egg into a separate bowl so you don't ruin other ingredients if it turns out to be spoiled. If it's not spoiled it's perfectly safe to eat it cooked. Is never safe to eat it raw. :)

I just watched a special on this on TV the other day- it turns out there is no exact science to food dating, especially with eggs. They're in all probability still good. Eggs dry out instead of go bad in my personal experience, so crack an egg and see if it's still egg-like. If it's dry inside, you can't eat it(obviously).

Hey, should the FHDM's innards be full of green and orange tendrils? Oh, and a yellow-green goo?

Speaking of Pharasma, would a Cleric of Pharasma worry more about things dying when they are supposed to die, or about things just dying (or re-dying in the case of undead)?
As in, is it more about the balance of death (killing what should be dead, reviving what should be alive, letting go of the rest), or about the lady back at the Boneyard getting her more souls to sort out?
I don't think Pharasma is about accumulating more souls. I think it's about preserving the cycle, rather than hastening it.

I heard that spoiled eggs will float in water. If they sink in water, they are still good for baking and such. I don't know if this is true or a wive's tale.

Roasting in the oven, rubbed down with butter and herbs. I've never actually been the one responsible for the turkey before, so it's intimidating.

Today's circus:
A few minutes ago I heard someone knocking to the apartment opposite mine and speaking through the door with the neighbors child. I stepped out to check what is happening: the man identified himself as police officer (soon three more cops in uniforms came) and told me that someone notified police that unsupervised child was standing or leaning through the window (1st floor or 2nd floor for American readers who fail to count the ground floor, enough to be crippled/dead after a fall).
The police talked for a while with the five year child but apparently the kid could not open the door from inside nor provide meaningful way of contacting the parents (mother went with the eldest child to shop and then to music school). I could not help them either, 'cause my contacts with the neighbors are limited to greeting them while passing on the stairs.
After a few more minutes they decided to call firefighters and use their ladder to enter through the window, instead of breaking the doors. Finally they managed to solve the problem and later contact the parents because I heard them arguing with the father that "his child would not do such thing..."

I GOT A RAISE!!
I ACTUALLY GOT A RAISE!!!
Every two years you should send resumes out to not just jobs that are a step up from where you are, but where you can get a salary bump for making a lateral move. If you can move to get a promotion, or are offered such a job even if you are happy where you are, you can leverage that for a raise/promotion in your current job.
Unless the entity you work for is geared for staff rotation (and often even when it is) management is LOATHE to part with talent or to have to train somebody else to do your job especially because there is no guarantee they can get somebody to do it as well.
Always be looking for the next opportunity and if your current job can afford to retain you, they will always adjust your salary accordingly. I've consistently elevated my pay this way, and my wife has actually had sit-downs over drastic increases to what was considered "fair" salary in response to competing offers.
And never stop looking until you find a situation with good health/dental insurance! <3

Old eggs make the best hard-boiled eggs because they peel easily. Fresh eggs are a b~@#~ to peel!
Welcome to all the new folks. I feel rather out of place.
And Happy Thanksgiving to all the USAians. May your turkey be moist and your stuffing savory!

Like this. Though most people have a more fire-based rig.

Shatner on deep frying turkey...
Captain Kirk had to do a cautionary video for State Farm Insurance.
I personally wouldn't attempt it. I like my skin too much.

The best method to determine if an egg is eddible is to put it in cold water; if it sinks, then it means it has not filled with gases from decomposition, and thus most likely good. If it floats, then you need to throw it away.
Before anything else happens, the egg starts filling with gas, so unless it is cracked or has been somehow contaminated, a sinking egg is almost always good.

I didn't know that FHDM was a minion of Moander. Since when did the Darkbringer come back to life?
