Yesterday, I was telling the noob one of the best places to get a suit was Jos. A. Bank because they often have some kind of sale going on.

Today I get something in the mail about the company's next Corporate Day sale event, August 13th & 14th.

G'morning FAWTLies! I hope you're all having a better week than I am.

Work Drama:
There is So. Much. Whining. going on in my office right now. I mean, yes, it sucks that a move we thought was happening in October has to be done by the end of August, but really-- we're moving from one floor to the other in the same building. This is not a major crisis.

We've been preparing for this for six months-- it's just happening ahead of schedule. I'm not happy about that, and I'd prefer it if the folks higher up in the food chain here had been a little more organized about advance planning and scheduling from the beginning, but it is what it is. All of my direct reports seem to be just this side of hysterical over it, though. I'm working hard to try to soothe fears and anxiety, but what I really want to do is tell people to stop whining, have a Twinkie, and get the f*(* over it.

F+~&ing work training.

For a few years now we've had a nice, simple online training system. You get an email notification, log on to the site, and within 30 seconds or so you can be taking the training.

Well, they just had to improve that.

Now, you get a 2 page Word document explaining, in detail, each step needed to access the training, a process which took about 10-15 minutes.

10-15 minutes. Just. To. Access. The. Training!

That's my employer for you. If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.

You should see some of the shenanigans they are coming up with trying to get stuff done on campus and still accommodate yet another 18 Million $ budget shortfall this fall! ;P

Stoopid technology. Just because you CAN do something (and it might even be cool!) doesn't mean you SHOULD do something! ;P

Is it time to break out the encouragement whip? If so, be sure to wear Haterade (tm) paraphernalia to rep the brand! Inform them that the beatings will continue until morale improves!

Some people can't cope with change for whatever reason. Even if they had advance notice, they'll kind of go into denial about it until it actually happens.
