New player wants a (any) good character for Crimson Throne adv. path!

Advice

Hello fellow Pathfinders!

I am a new player hoping to play a strong and charismatic, yet secretive character. Preferably a mêlee support class. From there i'd like to work to à prestige class.

Restrictions:
15 point buy
Only good alignment

Any tips for this fella?

Do you have a specific prestige class in mind? The core classes are often stronger than going to a prestige class.

A chaotic good rogue that uses a rapier, has decent Dex and Cha, and likes rooftops would be a good choice.

Can you tell us what the rest of the party is playing?

A Shoanti oracle wouldn't be bad. If you're group has some healing already this might be a good opportunity to use Rage Prophet for some casting, smashing goodness.

Bard :)

Bard can be especially good for a Shoanti character, too. They have this special spear which makes a musical whistling noise. Get proficient in that and use it for Bardic music and you have a great start.

If you want to tank go Fighter. If you want frontline damage go Barbarian. Bard is good if played right but I would not recommend it for a starting character. If you do go Bard make sure you know what you are doing. (That means reading up on everything a bard can do and choosing a spear like said above)

A Bard is not a frontline fighter though from what I have noticed. If you want to be in the front go Fighter or Barbarian.

Melee support class? Strong and charismatic, yet secretive? Go for an inquisitor.

I played an Inquisitor in CotCT and had fun. I'm not sure an Inquisitor is best for a 15 point buy, though. Certainly not if you want to leave enough points for Charisma.

What do you mean by "secretive"? Stealthy? Good at bluffing? Mysterious?

I'm playing CotCT I Have played with two characters and had a blast with either.

First is my two weapon rogue he was alot of fun, and the player that took over the rogue spot has had fun too.

Currently I'm playing a two-handed fighter. I have played this character a few times in different games, and I always have fun.

I know that the monk we had was extremely helpful for doing sub-dual damage, and that the cleric doesn't seem all that interested in her character. Our caster characters have stolen the stage in our game with all the wands we've found.

Ranger - Favored enemy Human, then Undead

Possible Theme Tie-ins: City Guardsmen, Sable Company Marine or Shoanti Huntsman
