Don't get me wrong. I LOVE all of the pool powers, from knowledge pool to pool strike. But they all just sound silly. Arcane pool is good and establishes what exactly it is, but the others...they sound like powers that Deadpool would give himself if he wrote his own comic book.
"And now, I use Pool Strike! Have at the, evil doer!" (Apply sarcasm as needed).
"Now, my brother, Knowledge Pool, will defeat you with one of his...pool spells." (Apply even more sarcasm...and a laugh track)
They just feel a little flavorless. Even calling it "Magus Strike" or "Knowledge Reservoir" would be simpler and feel less silly.

I get where you are comming from, but any association with Deadpool makes the class just plain better.
On a serious note, most people do not use the atack name in in game conversatons:
"I Full Attack you ... sucker!"
"....vital strike sneak attack...."followed by a body falling to the floor
"I´ll vampiric touch you sooooo hard, it will suck the life right out of you!"
That said: I suggest the following arcanas to be included:
Pool-o-Vision, little yellow box, little white box (both giving a bonus to will saves) and of course: Breaking the 4th Wall.

to Banpai: I understand that people don't actually shout out their attack names. I just meant that they felt like they had little flavor, as far as the magus is concerned.
And on the subject of Arcanas:
Pool-o-Vision:
Whenever you are blinded, you think you have blindsight, but you don't really have it. Pool-o-vision always gives you the impression of overly-elaborate decorative surroundings, especially when in a mundane area such as a basement or living room.
Little Yellow Box:
You're quite insane, and are prone to think at yourself. You gain a +2 on your will saves.
Little White Box:
Requires: Little Yellow Box
Still crazy, but at least you have someone to talk to! You gain a further +1 on will saves, as well as a +2 bonus on saves against mind-affecting spells and abilities.
Beyond the 4th Wall: You can, as a free action, start a conversation with any other player (including the GM) that completely derails the game. Also, you gain a +1 on your saving throws during the round you derail the game for every pop culture reference you make or provoke (to a total bonus no higher than your character level).

You sir, are my personal hero for the day, loooove the Arcanas.

Quandary |

I agree with this thread.
´Pool Spell´ and ´Pool Strike´ especially brought up either swimming pool thoughts, or the association of pools with scrying effects, which also doesn´t fit. ``Pool Spell` might better be called ´Spontaneous Manifestation´ which rather better conveys what it about. The Pool itself could have a better more evocative name, which seems to be what most Paizo products aim for to some degree... Arcane Reservoir?
Random thought: The Pool should be visible via Arcane Sight and such effects, i.e. those who can see the highest level spell memorized perhaps should be able to see the amount of points in the Pool...???

Everything is better with a little Deadpool added.
Now, if only somebody could sneak in a Taskmaster reference to the final Magus writeup ...
Ok new arcana:
Copycat: The Magus can use Pool Spell to cast any arcane spell he has successfully identified with spellcraft, cast in his presence, after the last time he prepared spells.
This does not allow him to use cast a spell of a level he can´t already cast.
Needs work but could actually be used as an arcana.
