The ex was looking at my phone (do I give points for still caring or take away points for keeping old habits) and clicked on my favorites.
She happened on the current OotS and asked 'Is this a Cain and Abel moment?'
And I started with a smile and said
'No ...'
Blink, Blink
Me: 'Yes. Yes it is. Nicely done. Want to read the last few?'
Her: 'No. Where's my food?'

Frost Giants have Highschools, who knew?
Also 'Frost Giant Highschool' would make a bad retro cover band name.

So Bandana's alive. For now. Don't forget, without a cleric or easily-available Elan, someone's gotta make a Heal check to stop her bleeding out.
My theory about the mutiny that leads to Belkar's death continues to look plausible. Then again, V and Haley might run into him on the way back.

Technically, there's no way to inflict nonlethal damage with an improvised weapon without taking a -8 to the attack. And a wrench doesn't really scream "nonlethal" to me. :P

Jeff,
With a wrench that size?! It seems unlikely.

Also we see here why it is never a good idea to go against the wishes of high-level adventurers, even benevolent ones :-)
And I second Roy's statement : at higher levels, my RotRL party worked like a well-oiled machine of death and plunder.

His team (Roy, Elan, Vesuvius, Haley, and even Belker) are acting like a well oiled machine. It is the ship's crew that are having a problem.

Adventuring, still not for NPC Classes.

Well put, and more accurate than my statement when just looking at OotS as the main 6 characters of the webcomic (plus Blackwing). But I was thinking of the fight in the larger sense of the "team" being those on the airship vs. the enemy frost giants; in that sense, I think my statement can also stand.

On the plus side, the detour may actually get the giants to concentrate enough in one spot that V, Haley, and Belkar can damage/defeat most of them. Having them spread out the way they were was complicating things and forcing them to use more resources.

So will they go port or starboard?
I was actually thinking that, although high levels, the OotS is having an easy enough time with some Leveled Frost Giants, who would have HPs to spare and can dish out damage as well.
Then I remember this is a (great) comic and the story takes precedence.

Baron,
I think the OotS might have advantage against a FEW frost giants but an entire army is something else.

Mmm you make an excellent point Lord Fyre. But those were merely a few hobgoblins, not Frost Giants. I will concede though, Sexy shoeless god of war is a monster force.

Clouds maybe. Elan's brains? Most definitely.
Also am I the only one annoyed that the engineer thinks she's doing a good job when clearly she's unqualified to do?

You might be right. But I really am getting tired of seeing that right now.

Baron,
People that have no idea the difference between true leadership (like Roy) and the ones that kind of hit people over the head maybe?

6 months in this pass and the arc has literally degenerated into a childhood spat involving the background characters. Thats... fantastic.
Way past time to get this side quest back on the rails, skip to thwarting the stupid plan to destroy the world and get back to the convoluted scheme that might not destroy the world. Or at least spend some amount of time with characters that might actually be involved in anything relevant at all.
Without the airship, this would have been months of bickering between the party's horses.
