Traits Addict (Sense Motive) & Student of Philosophy
Traits
Addict (Sense Motive): You start with only half of the normal starting cash, but your knowledge of the addicts lifestyle grants you a +1 trait bonus on Bluff, Knowledge (local), and Sense Motive checks. One of these skills (your choice) is always a class skill for you.
Student of Philosophy: You can use your Intelligence modifier in place of your Charisma modifier on Diplomacy checks to persuade others and on Bluff checks to convince others that a lie is true. (This trait does not affect Diplomacy checks to gather information or Bluff checks to feint in combat).

Gentlemen! I present to you the rare triple necro thread!
(steve steve, while sleepless detective is a great idea, you still have to decide how to get there. You have to spend five levels somewhere. I'm inclined to suggest Vivisectionist / Mindchemist.
Detective Rogue was obviously meant to be Holmsian, but Diplomacy, even if just restricted to Gather Info, doesn't seem especially suitable to him. Likewise the problem with Bards getting bonuses to all Knowledges, which is again very unlike the character.
I'd actually seriously consider Urban Ranger 3 (Favoured Community: Metropolitan London) / Mindchemist/Vivisectionist 2 for entering into Sleepless Detective. After finishing off all ten levels of Sleepless Detective, take two more levels of Alchemist and three more levels of Ranger)

ElyasRavenwood wrote:I was thinking of making a character inspired by Sherlock Holmes for a Pathfinder game.
How might i "simulate" Sherlock Holmes with character classes feats and traits?
Thanks
I would say int-rogue is the best fit.
Lots of deductive skills with little to no combat ability.
Uh...Sherlock Holmes fought decently often and basically never lost. He was kind of ridiculous, really.

Yeah. I think if you grew up with the old "masterpiece theatre" sort of Sherlock without having read any of it, you think he just pointed out the guy and he gave up.
I'm finally getting around to reading the complete collection, and really the new movies are pretty close. He doesn't fight quite as much as in the movies, but he does fight people frequently, and pretty much never loses.
