Tried to make this post an hour ago, but got interupted...
I'm thinking we keep the back-history all the same, except Atticus steps into Maeve's role. I'm also thinking of starting out with the party already all together and right at the outskirts of Lessef...it will be easier on me, and we'll dive into the story quicker.
I'm not really planning to keep track of XP...I'll use the adventure's level guidelines as my base, and basically just tell the group to level up whenever it seems appropriate based upon the progression of the story / accomplishments of the group.
Oh yeah, and everyone gets max hit points at first level. Yay! Mwaa haa haa...you'll need them.
Does that sound OK to everyone?
I'm going to read through the first chapter in a couple of hours once I get off work, and then I'll start up the PbP thread.

Don't want to interrupt your game, but did want to say how great it is to see you playing Splinters. It was a fun book to help write (even if it took a long time to get to your hands, but that's another story).
My faves are Adv. 5 (which I just finished converting to SW) and 7, but I'd love to hear what you all think as you go along. Any reviews you could post on any sites you visit (good or bad) would really be great, too. (It's tough getting books recognized in this market, and actual players/GMs opinions really help.)
And I'll be eagerly reading this post to see how things go for your group.
Feel free to shoot me any e-mails if you enjoy the adventure at Splinters-of-Faith [at] hotmail.com.
And good luck and have fun.

How common and/or accepted is human child abduction in elven society?
Eh...I'm gonna go with fairly uncommon. Maybe they were "charitable" elves who wanted to rescue her from a dying village. Or maybe they were just jerks. I'll let Narcisse figure out what her "adoptive" parents were like.

Cool. I think Valen's folk only take in children who are lost or in some way marked for some special reason. So, the idea of deliberately kidnapping them would be distasteful.
Well, to quote good ol' Jeb:
...just like there's good and bad men, there's good and bad elves...

Would anyone be interested in taking over a PC in a game I'm running? Or indeed in joining?
It's the first Kingmaker adventure and we're using the Savage Worlds rules currently. Let me know if you'd be interested; the group is only a short way in so there's not much to catch up.
Ideally you'd be familiar with the Saavage Worlds rules but there is a free primer from the Pinnacle Games site if you're not.

Gotta say I'm loving the game so far. Getting the gold piece was priceless. I can't wait for what's coming next.

Yeah, I kinda liked that little bit of evil greedy inspiration when it hit me. I can't quite decide if Scaby is a jerkass with a heart of gold, or jerkass with a heart of even more jerkass-ness.

I'm currently trying to transition from one giant ($3.2B) government contract to the contract that will be taking it's place. Over the last 48 hours, I've spend more than 30 of those hours in meetings.
Still, Kuwait beats Iraq or Afghanistan.
I was also hoping to bring Nate back into it soon, but haven't been able to contact him.

.... Over the last 48 hours, I've spend more than 30 of those hours in meetings.
And now you actually look like your avatar, there? (I'd be pretty close after a meeting schedule like that.)
I was also hoping to bring Nate back into it soon, but haven't been able to contact him.
Any further word from him?

How do you guys feel about maybe putting this on hiatus until after the New Year? It seems we're all pretty busy. Vote yeah or nay?
Works for me...I'm going to be traveling a bit between Christmas & New Year's, and the week before Christmas is frantic by definition. We're at a good breakpoint now.

Still haven't been able to get any good communication with Nate as of yet. Do you guys want to proceed without him for now? I could rule that he's feeling bad, and doesn't go with you guys on the fox hunt. In any case, he would proceed to fill you all in about the dreams he's had.
