While I love that FGG seems to be expanding the loose campaign setting that Necromancer Games created, to be honest, past Rappan Athuk, I'd rather see FGG focus on creating it's own new additions to that setting, rather than becoming the Necromancer reprint publisher, as some people seem to want.

What I always thought was great about Rappan Athuk was that it was not really set in a world, but one you could just drop in and run with in your own campaign. Sure, there were great cities mentioned nearby, but I could place them, too, if I wanted to fit my setting.

That's been one of the great things writing for Bill for Frog God Games, in that Gary and I have been able to develop our own setting and just flesh it out with the Splinters of Faith modules. It's nothing official for Frog God Games, but it allows us to set things in a "world" that the GM can use or adapt to his own setting. We made use of a lot of the same place names for the lairs in the Tome of Horrors Complete and are using the Splinters lands again in a series of n'gathau adventures we're writing now.

So I'm with you Kthulhu on the new stuff, and we're writing as fast as we can to get some new Frog God books out there for you all.

But it's still great to see the classics come back with more and better additions to spice them up for current gamers.

It shouldn't be too hard to match up the gods in Splinters with the Golarion ones. In fact, when Gary and I were writing Splinters we first used the PDF of gods at Necromancer Games (the book was originally written as one big book for 3.5 after all) and then expanded on them with new gods as needed to illustrate the temple "concepts" such as luck, fertility, etc. In fact, we included the domains note in each temple description so GMs could use their own gods if needed.

Of course, as Clark said, it's all about Orcus, and Splinters ends with a bang with an entire temple to the big guy. Check out Splinters 10: Remorse of Life for more on that one, although you will see other Orcus influences Turku out some of the other modules in the series.

I definitely like the idea and that Splinters has this adaptability. That's what Gary and I were going for with Splinters.

Gotta say I'm loving the game so far. Getting the gold piece was priceless. I can't wait for what's coming next.

Don't want to interrupt your game, but did want to say how great it is to see you playing Splinters. It was a fun book to help write (even if it took a long time to get to your hands, but that's another story).

My faves are Adv. 5 (which I just finished converting to SW) and 7, but I'd love to hear what you all think as you go along. Any reviews you could post on any sites you visit (good or bad) would really be great, too. (It's tough getting books recognized in this market, and actual players/GMs opinions really help.)

And I'll be eagerly reading this post to see how things go for your group.

Feel free to shoot me any e-mails if you enjoy the adventure at Splinters-of-Faith [at] hotmail.com.

And good luck and have fun.
