Throwing and Returning for Arcane Weapon!

Round 1: Magus

I think that Throwing and Returning would make flavorful additions to the available bonuses - magically empowered warriors making their weapons fly about is quite classic (for example, look at Hand of the Apprentice!), and if they can get Dancing, then Throwing and Returning aren't too much of a stretch.

that acutally brings up one of the enchantments you can add to your weapon that makes little sense

Dancing

if you make your weapon dancing and then send it off to attack somone you are not holding your weapon when you try casting a spell and need to make that high DC check to cast without your bond

and thats kinda insane ;)

Dark Archive

i agree they should add throwing and returning, maybe also some of the ranged weapon additions like seeking for the magus who uses a bow rather than a sword

Magus' cannot use a bow. Need to keep one hand free.

o.O

...guess I won't be playing this class :P

He needs to keep a hand free to cast during a full attack.

Though, nothing is stopping you from using throwing weapons. I'd say for a class built around being versatile at combat and spellcasting, a versatile weapon like the dagger could be a good choice.

It's technically a melee weapon.. but you are throwing it. ;)

I wonder if this is going outside the design intent?

In theory, the magus should blend pretty well with the Arcane Archer. This would create a character that can mix magic with both ranged combat and melee combat.

No need. Just weapon bond with a +1 throwing returning weapon.

Man, I dunno what kinda campaign you play in where you can just get whatever magic items you want... D:

The kind where my magus takes Craft Magic Arms and Armor as his 5th-level magus bonus feat.

SLING.

*Ahem* Sling (I wish this weapon would get some feat/rules love to remove the AoO-provoking move action loading), Halfling Sling Staff, Blowgun, Shuriken, Chakram, Hunga Munga, Boomerang, Crystal Chakram, Flask Thrower, Sling Glove (<3), Throwing Shield, Blunderbuss, Pistol, and Revolver. -- one-handed ranged weapons not consumed after a single use

I agree, some ranged qualities would be nice.
