Improved share spell and animal domain?

Improved share spell only works on creatures gained as a class feature. Does anyone know if the companion gained at level four by a cleric with the animal domain is a class feature? I am picturing a cleric casting righteous might on both himself and a companion in one casting.

its a class feature by proxy.

its a domain ability, and domains are class features, so the ability granted by that domain is a class feature
