Dunno.

So, question regarding Baphomet's glaive, Aizerghoul. Is it an artifact or not? Being that it doesn't have a statblock of it's own, only appearing under Baphomet's special abilities, I wasn't sure. It reads like an artifact, with flavor like being made of ivory but being treated like adamantine for DR, and abilities like the wound's that don't heal naturally, but it's not explicitly stated as far as I can tell, and doesn't include a destruction clause.

It's a weird case. Best to think of it as an artifact that only works for Baphomet, I suppose. Permanently killing Baphomet would destroy it.

Why hasn't the Extra Smite feat made it into Pathfinder? Its a staple of my Paladin player's characters , but when I decreed Pathfinder only rules for the next campaign, we discovered it hadn't carried over. Any plans to bring it on board?

Not sure. That's a good question for the design team. My guess is that they felt paladins are strong enough already. Having seen them and their smites in play, I agree.

There has been a lot of talk on the player companion messageboards of the idea for a changeling theme book, Blood of The Coven. My question is, are their plans for such a book in the future? Has it been discussed at meetings? What other Halloween player companion specials have been discussed?

It's not something we've announced yet though. And I'm not gonna spill the beans on other Halloween things we might do in the future!

To further my mythic-related questions:

1) Mythic Origins includes a spell called Sustaining Legend that says the rulers of Azlant used it to amplify the mythic power of both themselves and their lieutenants. This seems to imply that mythic power, while perhaps not entirely common, was at least nowhere near as rare as it is in present day Golarion. Is that the case? Was mythic status much more prevalent in Azlant and other ancient empires than it is in modern Golarion?

2) What might this sort of mythic power (that the rulers of Azlant and their lieutenants possessed, anyway) feel like to a user? Would it have been varied?

3) I asked in a prior question what the moment of ascension was for Xanderghul and Sorshen. Are you any closer to revealing that?

4) Did the Ghol-Gan cyclops empire (ruins of which are obviously now down near the Shackles) have famous mythic individuals?

5) Might there be sources of mythic power still drifting around the Shackles in present day Golarion?

6) Would the Eye of Abendego work as either a mythic fount or a means of passing mythic trials in some fashion? Is there anything "special" in the debris field in the middle of it?

7) Near the end of Thassilon, Alaznist was either close or ready to summon the Oliphaunt of Jandelay. Since Mythic Realms describes doing so as a series of mythic trials (unlocking the Spindlehorn, learning the language of Jandelay), would summoning it have likely resulted in her ascension to mythic status? Or did she come up with workarounds in order to pull it off without being mythic herself?

Same thing any tyrant would do, really. Elves aren't that much different than dwarves or humans when it comes to what's going on when you're being ruled by a tyrant.

Not that I know of; and in fact, legless would be a weird disadvantage since you'd not be able to use most armor or magic boots or other things that require legs. And your friends would mock you if you took the Run feat.

My favorite dinosaur would be obvious I think: Tyrannosaurus!

No. It might have a bit to say about Aroden, but Acavna's hardly a modern "Inner Sea God" at all. The focus of the book is on living gods.

He didn't answer the most important part of the question, though.

Dear James Jacobs,
Sorry for asking so many questions, but I have two questions about settlements and multiclassing:

1) In a settlement's marketplace section, are the minor, medium, and major items all supposed to be worth more gp than the base value, and if so, if the base value is 12,000 gp and the minor items are 4d4, how am I supposed to find a minor item worth more than 12,000 gp? So, for example, let's say I had a large city with a base value of 9,000 gp, and 3d4 minor items, are the 3d4 minor items supposed to all be under the value of 9,000 gp, or are they all supposed to be above the value of 9,000 gp, and if so, how am I going to find a minor item worth more than 9,000 gp?

2.) When you multiclass a new class, do you get maximum hit points, just as if you had made a new character? When you multiclass spellcasters, do you get bonus spells from having a high ability score for both classes? So, for example, if I have a cleric 1/druid 1/wizard 1 and I have a 16 wisdom and 15 intelligence, do I get 6 1st level spells from all the classes together? (plus the domain spells)

Thanks for answering all my questions, I know it's probably annoying for you!

Would using contagion multiple times with the same disease on a target induce the same effects of the disease or would it simply not cause anything to the creature? I'm imagining since the spell forces the disease to occur immediately, it would force the effects of the disease to happen sooner.

what do you think of the warhammer 40k setting

James, If you had been able to use Demogorgon as the "God of Demons," would the Abyss still have been as female-flavored as it is, as opposed to a male-flavored hell, or would it likely have been developed in a different direction?

Greetings, Mr. Jacobs.

I'm creating a campaign in Sarusan. Clearly, much of the information about that locale is deliberately vague, which is why I chose it. Even so, I have a couple of questions that shouldn't be too spoiler-ish:

1) Are there any plans within the next year or so of releasing canonical information regarding Sarusan? Even though it is a GM's prerogative to change things as he/she wishes, I'd hate to go to the work of detailing the place only to have Paizo release an official, and likely vastly superior write-up in the near future.

2) It has been stated in other posts that the "Stolen Map" representation of Golarion is distorted, partly due to the use of a Mercator projection in the map upon which the pilfered map is based. Can you give us a hint how large the continent (it is a continent, right?) is? I've read several references to Australia in discussions regarding Sarusan, so would that be a reasonable model in terms of size?

James,

In your opinion, does DR x/- mitigates the damage from a vicious weapon? If so both for the wielder and the target?

Thank you!

1) Probably archmage.

2) Not gonna say yet.

3) By destroying him and taking his stuff.

4) By trying (and probably failing) to destroy her before she could wake.

5) No; he's no longer the most recent runelord, and lost that link as a result. He was indeed its creator though, I believe.

Since Godzilla's size changes often, typically growing larger than in the previous set of movies whenever there's a relaunch, I do indeed think it's accurate, since this movie is indeed a relaunch.

They represent the "personality" of the nation. As such, the alignment also really represents the bulk of the nation's leadership (particularly its current leader or leaders) and the bulk of its movers and shakers. There are a few cases where nations have built-in conflicts among their people (such as Cheliax, which has a fair amount of good and chaotic characters) or have a lot of smaller power groups of varying alignments (like the River Kingdoms or Varisia) though.

Was it a rephased version of "Tell us if a book will come out in the future?" Because I don't answer those questions. Ever. Because until we announce a book officially, I'm not interested in testing how many times it takes to reveal our long-term plans to the public before I get fired.

Multiple castings to inflict the same disease on a creature already suffering from that disease are wasted, unless your contagion spell happens to have a higher save DC. You can only be suffering from any one disease once at a time, but the most virulent strain is the one that is active.

1) Nope; remember that there's only a 75% chance an item of equal or less than the settlement's base value is actually for sale. If that item is specifically listed in the item's items for sale, that rises to 100%. For items above the base value, the ONLY way you can find them for sale in any one city is if the GM deliberately places such an item for sale (either by picking it or choosing one randomly to fill the settlement's available item slots).

2) You only get max hit points at 1st level, not when you multiclass.

And nope! The whole point of this thread is to ask questions! :-)

That sounds like a Miahchael Bay approach to Godzilla. Every movie has to have bigger and more better explosions than the movie before, except replace explosions with Godzilla.

1) We only generally announce the next 6 months or so of products, and those are public knowledge (but no, none of them have Sarusan elements planned). I'm not going to say if we have plans for it beyond that window.

2) The primary distortions are in the actual size of the continents and the size of the oceans. In truth, the oceans are ALL much bigger, and Casmaron in particular is bigger than depicted. The relative sizes of the continents are about right, so you can be confident that Sarusan is not THAT much larger than Avistan. Comparing it to Australia in size is probably a pretty safe bet.

Alignment is a result of game play, not the other way around. When someone plays a character, they pick their alignment. But then if they don't PLAY to that alignment, it changes. It's like a uniform. If you put a police uniform on, you don't automatically become a cop. You have to play the part and you have to maintain the expectations of that uniform to resist getting it taken away.
