Even if it's not with evil intent? For example a tribe of lizardfolk eating their deceased as a form of "burial" ritual, or simply because they don't want anything to go to waste? Or if they ate the corpses of defeated enemies for the same reasons (not enemies that were killed for the sole purpose of eating them or another clearly evil intent, but enemies that were threatening the tribe in some way)?

When will your new product (you know, the holographic projector that translates dungeon maps into 3-D images on the gaming table) be ready? And is it true that there will be up to eight remotes available so players can move their characters within the projection? Thank you.
:D
Wait till I graduate, I'll go and make it for them!

I imagine they're still working out the ergonomics so the controller is more T-Rex friendly.

If I were to pick the top videogame franchise inspirations for Golarion for me, the top five would be (in no particular order):
1: Baldur's Gate
2: Dragon Age
3: Fallout
4: World of Warcraft
5: Jade Empire

When you played Fallout, did you blow up Megaton? If you did, did you have the horrible moral dilemma I did?

Do you have iPad? Do you use laptop or some tablet device in your gaming?
I do not have an iPad, but some of the folks I game with do. I sometimes use my iPhone for stuff during a game, but usually I don't use any computer stuff when I'm running a game. In fact, I generally try to run games with as little stuff at hand as possible; usually just the Bestiary and the Core Rules and the adventure and/or stats for monsters on deck to be fought that session.

Is it possible to recreate a Jedi using existing PFRPG rules? Perhaps using Magic Sword spell instead of light saber? Do you like the flavor of Soulknife? In your opinion, can it be successfully reflavored to be based on magic instead of psionics?
I suspect that no matter what you attempted to do in creating a Jedi, and no matter how closely you got to perfection, the amount of noise from the internet informing you that you did it wrong would convince you that it's not possible. (See the Magus playtest thread.)
On a more serious note... they created jedi for the d20 Star Wars game, so it's absolutely possible to create a jedi with Pathfinder. The current class that probably comes CLOSEST to being a jedi already is probably the oracle. MAYBE the paladin or inquisitor.
James Jacobs Creative Director |
Is there a prestige class that you have created and you like it a lot, but it was never published? If so, can you tell us something about it?
Hmmm... I created a LOT for my homebrew several years ago, but most of those have seen print, either in now-obscure books (such as the dinosaur cultist in Bastion Press's "Villains") or not so now-obscure books (like the Pathfinder campaign setting's Red Mantis Assassins).

I'd like to think so, but it might not really be necessary. The magus playtest seems to have a lot of freakouts on it. We'll see...

That should be ready by 2017. No remotes will be needed, in any event, since the program will be able to observe gamers and react to their voice and gestures.

Depends on the GM's interpretation, I guess. Alignment, despite what everyone wants, is not a math question. It's a philosophical question, and each GM needs to decide things like that on his own. Or go with the advice or decision of another GM he/she trusts, I guess.

I did, but only in an alternate save game just to see the graphics. Then I reloaded and proceeded with the game leaving Megaton alone. I had a house there, after all!

Everyone knows about using battlemaps and miniatures for combat and to give players something visual about their character to focus on. Everyone also knows about using background music to give players something auditory to allow submersion into the setting. But why are the other senses left out so often?
Have you ever made sure the food for offer during a game was setting-specific? If so what kind of food was it?

If I elimanate the 'Freakouts' with my stealthy Ninja powers, then can we?
Also, I have an important questions, Should I Let the right one in?
More importantly, who is the right one?

So again some people on the forum talking about the magus have shown that people on the internet are 50 to 90% more mean then they would be in real life, Do you have any thought on why that is and how we can end "Internet @*&holery" ?
I think that you could very well win a noble prize for solving that problem. That would look good on a resume.

The original Legacy of Kain was great in its time, but trying to play it even 2 years later I was just astonished by the loading times. The art and voice acting are great, but... I am just too impatient.
I too didn't like the loadings of Blood Omen, but I think they're worth the trouble. What's more, Jake Pawloski is (or was) working on a 3D version of Blood Omen which, beyond the little magnificence of its own, shouldn't probably have those load times. What changes would you make to the binder class to bring it in line with Pathfinder? Sorry, if this was asked before, I have not read the entire thread.
If a low-level party of good-aligned PCs were forced to fight and kill a larger group of magically-controlled commoners would you award XP to the PCs?

It's partially to do with the fact that there's no REAL repercussions for being a jerk online, so all the people who suppress their jerkness in real life can cut loose, I guess.
It's incredibly frustrating. If ANYTHING could make Paizo stop doing public playtests, it's "Internet a-holery." Now, that said, I think that the playtests are an incredibly valuable tool for us, so I think we just have to hunker down and bear it, really. Or maybe just get more aggressive on banning folks who simply and obviously don't know how to behave in public. Of course, doing that self-selects people to send out into the wild to badmouth Paizo for being intolerant, so it's kind of a lose-lose situation.

I was wondering with the Banhammer (tm) is it possible for Vic or Cosmo to set it up so it is section specific - so say I was being a Jerk in the off topic section and I get an email from Vic saying due to you being a nob you have won a holiday from posting in the off topic section for 5 days. Other sections are available to you to post, should further breaches of the dont be a jerk rule occur the Banhammer will be applied to all of your posts for a set period of time proportional to your @holery.

Now that my team the Dragons thrashed the Roosters 32 - 8 in the Rugby League Grand-final I have some questions:
As you predicted this are your prophetic powers greater than or equal to Paul the Octopus? ?
In that case can you apply your powers and tell me who will win the Rugby Union World Cup, Australia, New Zealand, England, South Africa, France, or Argentina (the US does have a team but it never makes it past the first pool)?

Do you think that the rise in the number Pathfinder dedicated podcasts, (especially the excellent Chronicles pod cast) will give impetus to Paizo to start its own official podcast?
Who has the best radio voice (not face for radio) at Paizo?
Is there a position of Media manager at Paizo, do you have a person coordinating all of Paizo's media output (Tweets,Youtube,Podcast interviews and so on)?

I would reselect vestiges that all made sense in-world (which would mean I'd have to pick a game setting for the class); the random selection of vestiges in the hardcover are kind of annoying since they're not all appropriate for every setting.
I would indeed award XP.
Thanks, James.

James is right. No one "played" Legacy of Kain. I, however, REVELED in the entire far-too-short series.
As for inspiring anything in Golarion, I can't say yes to that directly. I mean Kain himself as a vampire badass, Raziel as an undead hardcase looking for his vengeance fix, creepy lesser undead, world-destroying plots, and elder gods (voiced by Tony Jay nonetheless!) are all pretty familiar fantasy elements. While there's a few characters in past adventures and coming up in Rule of Fear that might fall into the same Venn diagram circles as these guys, I can't point to anyone and say "This is Kain." But it's in there!
Also, let me throw out five other vidjagame series that have had more than a little bit of influence on Golarion (again, in no particular order).
1: Diablo
2: Castlevania
3: Shin Megami Tensi
4: Final Fantasy (though you could probably lump damn near every Square-Enix game from Xenogears to Dragon Quest to Chrono Trigger into this category)
5: The Legend of Zelda
At one point the GameMastery Guide included a list of "Inspirational Gaming" but it got cut for space. I'll see if I can find that on Monday, but it might have been lost to the Demon of Deep Cuts.

What does the F stand for in F. Wesley Schneider's name?
I am guessing Fandango.
Do T-Rexs get grumpy when dragons trespass on their territory?
Will there be a cage match to settle the trespass?
If I were to put money on it who would win?
What is the most fun way to annoy Fandango Wesley Schneider?
Does Fandango answer questions like you do?
Would they be of the same quality and profoundness?
Do people sing the spider man theme tune but change the lyrics when Fandango is around so it goes
"Schneiderman,Schneiderman
Does whatever a Schneider can
Edits text, any size,
Catches errors just like flies
Look Out!
Here comes the Schneiderman."?
