A full day without any kind of digital device?

I'm already breaking out into a cold sweat...

Pfft... that's EVERY day when you have AT&T as your service provider.

[EDIT] I gotta watch The Mist sometime soon.

All but the last few minutes. Crapped out an otherwise good flick.

I'm sorry you didn't like it. I LOVED the ending myself, although it is NOT for everyone.

Two things:

1) I think that's what a spider familiar would look like.

2) The Mist is a really good movie. It is NOT, however, a movie that should ever be played or watched while on deployment, separated from your wife and children. I will never forgive our ship's media center for making me go through that last year. I'll say nothing more to avoid spoiling it for others.

2) Agreed. That circumvents the boundaries of good taste.

in case you have not seen the movie:

When I first encountered the story of The Mist it was through a fairly faithful audio play. It ends much like the short story just before the use of the bullets, leaving you to come up with your own end.

This is my complaint and yes I know it is a small one but I think more movies would work better if left much closer to the source material.

An otherwise excelent movie. Especially when viewed in the director's preferred black & white. But, yes. I also took issue with that 'little' change.

I read the shortstory when it was published. I was an avid King follower at the time. Never head an audio version though.

I haven't tried, but I haven't seen any notifications today, now that you mention it.

I know yesterday I wasn't able to link youtube vids to FB. That's one reason I posted the Queen video here.

Seems to be linking right again now.

I suppose that means they're changing something up again.

former workplace drama:

Evidently, pressure has been building at my former job. During a departmental meeting, everyone learned about a rash of car thefts from one of the parking lots. They were informed that it was deemed a rumor, so the company decided not to communicate anything. This set one guy off, and he ranted for about 10 minutes, culminating in calling the director a liar. He got called into HR and is under a gag order about the discussion. Another person who sat in the back got caught "rolling her eyes" and got a verbal reprimand about her attitude.

Still trying to figure out the downside to leaving. :)

I'm not sure how TPTB can expect anyone to thrive in that environment. Everyone in HR is astonished at how bad morale is there.

Why are employers so routinely out of touch?

Rainy day + nap + no class for rest of week = happier me. :)

Not that I'll actually take time off. But I might actually get caught up on my bio homework. Emphasis on might.

In that case, I better check out the original works and the radio play. I would not have made that choice if I was them. I would rather go down fighting.

EDIT- Going down fighting naked for TOP!!!!!
