Hee hee. Why is it sooo important to strictly follow the rules in a role-playing game?

By the way, you're not going to convince any of those [if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all] of the joys of doing a little freeform DMing.

I know - normally I stay out of those threads but the problem posted by the OP was so sweet and I loved where it was headed, until - the No Fun Lawyers came in and put the hammer down.

That, folks, is a rough draft on my Puccini paper. One step closer to having a grad school application...

Um, the game isn't fun if you aren't following all the rules. I mean, you can't just decide to land on GO every turn in Monopoly. It's totally the same thing.

Time for bed. This was an exhausting weekend and I feel like I got nothing done. It wasn't a bad weekend, just tiring.

Pros and cons. Meh.

Seriously though, Kevin, thanks for everything, man.

Erm, yeah, but Justin posted 'sleep' so that's where I went with it.

I'm a f*+~ing moron.

~grins~ No problem. I am glad to be of assistance.

~chuckles~ Well, for one you would have heard me whine a whole hell of a lot more if you had stayed. OTOH, I would have chipped in for the "Clue by Four" to beat some sense into my thick head. ~winks~

You don't whine. You really don't.

And I've already got a clue-by-four, so you won't have to pay for it. And it won't get used on you.

This is annoying! I desperately want to do something creative...but I'm freaking exhausted.

Need to think of something that I can spend an hour or two on before turning in for a good night's rest...

Hmmm....

Aw, c'mon Shiny! Using dragons for a pinata is fun.

if you hit them real hard and they break their horde falls out of their belly!

No not the hoarde... the horde. As in the Horde of worms that live in their guts from eating all that raw meat.

What are you doing up, Moorluck?

Well, there is no way I'm reading two thousand posts. I don't have that kind of time. :)

It's been a mixed week. The bad, well, the kidlet has been in constant trouble at school this week. :( And today was home sick with a head cold. :(
The good: The kidlet got approved for the research study at the UM Autism center. Woohoo! And I got perfect scores on both my chemistry and algebra tests this week. :)

Looking forward to gaming tonight. My poor character is having the worst week of her life. But it's made for some truly hilarious in-game moments so far. We'll see how this plays out....

Anyhow, hoping y'all had a good week. And now that I've given up on having to read the back posts, I'll start checking in again.:)

Congrats on the grades and getting your son into the autism study.

Thanks. :)

Yeah...well...so can I. There are a couple of reasons that's not an option at the moment. Come to think of it, though, that might explain the sudden burst of creativity. I seem to recall a theory about the origins of artistic inspiration.

Anyway, thanks for the advice, Moorluck, but I was thinking more along the lines of writing or something like that.

Yeah, in the morning we got some stuff to clean up anyway, so I figure why not. :/

Agh. Me and my sinus infection are likely heading to bed soonish. Assuming I can actually sleep tonight. :/
Skipping school tomorrow since it's algebra and I'm still ahead in the lessons/homework by about a month waiting for the rest of the class to catch back up. Unlike today when I dragged my ass in even though I shouldn't have. Can't afford to miss a bio lab. I'm already having a nervous breakdown over this class and I'm one of like three people in the whole class who aren't in danger of flunking. Hell, the prof doesn't even read my lab anymore, just signs off on them without looking. He just reads my lab partners' journals to make sure I coached them through adequately. This says much about his teaching skills. :/

It'd be more fun to write a 2000 word essay on how to kill goblin babies. Unfortunately, one might be able to argue that THAT would be an evil act and I know a paladin or two who might be a little upset--and possibly confused--by the moral conundrum involved.

That quote was from a while ago. Gaming was Wednesday. And will happen again on Tuesday. :)

All in all, it went pretty well. Elijah actually apologized to people for rushing into something without thinking. Looks like she might actually be growing up a little. Although her guy is pretty dang upset with her about the side quest we're now stuck on in order to save her life. Not that he's not gonna do it, just gonna make her feel bad about it. One of the drawbacks of a one-sided (at least as far as she knows) relationship. :)
