So I tried the Magus out as my new Pen & Paper Character on Friday night at RPing.
Ariadne deSernosIt was... interesting. When she did finally hit, she insta-killed the poor Skinsaw Cultist with a Shocking Grasp enhanced Longsword that caused him to explode for 33hp damage! (which is a little overkill I now realize going back and looking at their stats and their measly 12hp :/)
I saw your comments about the issues concerning MAD. That's a big of a choke dependence on how you do your point buys. :/ Nevertheless, thanks for sharing!

Busy weekend. Under the weather Friday night, so I bowed out of the weekly HS football game. Saturday was filled with my daughter's Sweet 16th BDay party. Sunday was football watching and our family dinner out for said bday.
Busy is good but boy do I need a nap! Too bad I still have to cover for the boss' vacation.
Hope all is good with you all.

But ever since we visited the moon and increased our space travel capability, they've begun to realize we could eventually be a threat. I, for one, welcome our psychically powered moon dwelling overlords.

I thought that Dervish gained the ability to use a scimitar as a light weapon? Shouldn't he be using Scimitars instead of kukri's?
I was going to take on the Duskblade until I found out someone else was doing it. I'm kind of down on the 3.5 fighter, so what's going to appeal to me from the PHB2 to supplement it?
I've been liking what I've read from the Swordsage. Almost debated about doing a Swordsage 3 / Barbarian 1, but not convinced. *clicks tongue*
And yeah, I saw the scimitar entry too.
There are a lot of feats that are pretty darn tasty. Nope, don't recall any off hand as it's been a couple years since I cracked the book, but there are a lot of them and many are Fighter focused. Certainly worth taking a look at. I honestly never considered adding Barbarian. A raging Dervish could be scary.

Uri, I have found my Dex based TWF Bar/Rog to be pretty damn lethal, so far she has the highest kill rate in our Kingmaker game. I went with duel hand axes and keep her mobility up and took the optional "Frenzy" in place of Rage to bring her up to 3 attacks per round at Bar3/Rog2, she can take down many of the threats they've faced in 1-2 rounds if she gets the drop on them, nasty thing that sneak attack.

You should see a Bar/Pal use a Raging Smite on the BBEG. That's scary. :S

Nice! But they're using 3.5 rules, so alas no Pathfinder goodies. Yet.

That's the beauty of it, the Frenzy appears in the PH2, or UA, I can't remember which ATM.I just ganked it for my little Mikli.... soon she may just take over the kingdom. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...ha?

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm going to look now! Anything WotC 3.x is assumed to be in play.

Interesting. In my homebrew, paladin smite functions similarly to a barbarian's rage. Hm.

Hand cramps, everybody!
Our game last night was interesting. After spending all week planning our assault, sending emails back and forth and chatting about it, we got to our destination and found a back door. So all of our planning and arguing was for naught! LOL!
Still, we did kick a lot of butt and are on our way to finish off the rest of the current villains. Beware my Sword of Truthiness! Take that Dire Bunny!

I should point out that it happened by accident. A fallen Pali turned Bar regained his status after atonement and started down the path of pali again. Facing some brigands who had killed some farmers and taken the pretty teenage daughters, one of which had died from their "attentions" he flew in to a righteous rage and started smiting them.... we almost felt sorry for the brigands... almost.

Morning all. It's been a while (540 posts) and will probably be a while again. It has been "highly suggested" we all start putting in overtime. It could be rough for the next couple of months.
Spent some good time with the kiddos over the weekend. They hiked with me on a rather difficult 3 mile hike yesterday. With little complaining. That's really something -- especially for the 4-year-old who I didn't carry at all.
Posted new pictures if you are interested.
Hope you all have a good week and I'll probably see you in another 500 posts or so...

Pretty pictures, once again Moff!
Sorry to hear about the work situation. I hope things smooth out soon.
I remember hiking with my 3/4 year-old daughter, who would have me carry her up the mountain, and then insisting that we race down the mountain.

Quick, tell me: am I missing anything? Do I need to know anything? Is someone waiting for a word from me with bated breath?
I have eleventy links to my latest KQ article, the doppelrat, which I submitted for the first KotM contest. It's an "honorable mention" of sorts. :)
Hmmm, maybe the metoprana will show up there sometime. I'd rather Charnie get up on there first, though.
