I hope everyone had a good weekend.

I'm off to bed. See y'all tomorrow.

Hi, All. Just put the kids to bed and I'm headed toward nighty-night, myself, soon.

We did get to play the game today, but it took a while to get there. I spent a good part of the day building the characters and all the enemies. Even with Hero Lab, character creation in PFRPG takes time.

When I was just about finished, I had to stop so we could go to the pool. After that, I got sidetracked by the need to purchase a new monitor for my wife's computer.

By the time we got finished with dinner, we only had time to through the first encounter. That took about 90 minutes.

Regardless, it was lots of fun. The girls are taking to the d20 system very well. The girls' math skills aren't great, but they're improving. More gaming will help with that.

I'm thinking that the characters are a bit too complex for them, so I've kind of ignored certain options and aspects of their characters. The fighter's fine on her own, but my other daughter chose a druid and is itching to use her wildshape ability. I'm not quite ready to deal with explaining the game mechanics involved in that one, so we stuck to using weapons and doing melee attacks for a bit.

Overall, I think the scenario's pretty fun. The challenge ratings are pretty much on par, I think, which is cool considering I used the guidelines in the PFRPG rulebook to develop each encounter. ;)

Well, I guess that's it. I'm going to read a bit more of "Prince of Wolves" before falling asleep.

Take care, all!

That's pretty cool, AZ! Was that done with Campaign Cartographer? I'm a huge fan of that program.

I thought that Dervish gained the ability to use a scimitar as a light weapon? Shouldn't he be using Scimitars instead of kukri's?

After a quick look at the book, yes they do! So, yeah, go with scimitars. Feel free to use a light weapon in your off hand until you get a level of Dervish, but still take Weapon Focus(Scimitar).

Yup. A Dervish treats scimitars as light weapons for purposes of TWF. And I had forgotten how feat intensive the prereqs were. I think I'd recommend sticking with Fighter instead of the Bo9S classes. Especially if PHB2 is usable.

Yeah, I did it with CC3. My brother got it for me as a gift, and I've since purchased the dungeon add-on, the city add-on, and some extra symbol sets. I don't use it nearly enough, but now that I'm DMing again, I'll have more opportunity.

Yellow Dingus wrote:

Actually that's not the moon talking to you. What we know as the moon has actually been hollowed out and turned into a hidden stellar fortress by humans who have been genetically altered to gain the traits of telepathy, advanced intellect, and accelerated healing. For many years, they've been content to leave us be, watching in amusement as we descended into a spiral of madness and destruction. But ever since we visited the moon and increased our space travel capability, they've begun to realize we could eventually be a threat. Now they are communicating with their chosen agents (i.e. you) in order to encourage you to turn against the rest of humanity and aid them in their conquest of Earth.

Yesterday, it seemed that the boards were infected by doppletroll posts. It soon became overwhelming. Fortunately, there is always a FAWTL thread nearby for sanctuary.

It was... interesting. When she did finally hit, she insta-killed the poor Skinsaw Cultist with a Shocking Grasp enhanced Longsword that caused him to explode for 33hp damage! (which is a little overkill I now realize going back and looking at their stats and their measly 12hp :/)

It was a little disappointing though, as the Paladin and the Lawful Good Fighter destroyed all the Skinsaw Cultist's Magical Skinsaw Masks because they detected as evil. :(

Oh, before I forget

*glub* Gooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning FAWLTY HOUSE!!!

Yeah. It's raining here. Bad. Real bad. It's the worst kind of rain if you ride a bike- the DECEPTIVE kind. From far away, it looks like a drizzle. Riding through it, it feels like a drizzle. However, halfway to your destination, you realize that no, it is not a drizzle.

*sigh*

Ah well. I'm here, and all is right with the world. Unsure as to whether or not I'll be going into manhattan today to game, that all depends on the weather patterns. I may have to push things up to next week. Still, it's going to be rainy all week, and I can't use that as an excuse to stay indoors. There's a laundromat downstairs that can see to my soaked clothings needs...maybe I'll go there while on lunch and toss some things in the wash and dry. Ironically enough, I blew the last of my paper cash on doing the laundry yesterday- what a twist!
Time for some morning tea to get this burgeoning chill out of my bones...

I was going to take on the Duskblade until I found out someone else was doing it. I'm kind of down on the 3.5 fighter, so what's going to appeal to me from the PHB2 to supplement it?

I've been liking what I've read from the Swordsage. Almost debated about doing a Swordsage 3 / Barbarian 1, but not convinced. *clicks tongue*

And yeah, I saw the scimitar entry too.
