Yeah, I hear you on the doubles. Everybody has things that it makes sense to hoard and others that you're like, Dammit, I already have one of them! My nephew has gotten uber-mini enriched over the years thanks to this. Also, I once surprised a dude in Canada. Maybe next semester I can start collecting again, if income improves, and I can think of my Fawtly friends, in keeping with the good examples around here.

Wait? What? Someone was setting good examples around here?

I share, just ask Solnes. :P

Treppa and I R guduns.

True, true!

Please be careful. I don't want to see you two end up on You Tube.
Just remember when going after the nest, hornets have poor eyesight but an incredible sense of smell, they find threats by targeting the carbon dioxide that is expelled when a creature breaths out. In other words, hold your breath until you're done, then just turn and walk away. You should avoid getting stung if you do. Ground hornets can be a little trickier, walk slowly and softly towards the opening so as to create as few vibrations as possible to alert them of a incoming threat to the hive.

Good to know. These are in a ground nest by the concrete base of a deck support. They were really cheesed off this morning. How long until a nest settles down again? I think I stomped a couple on the deck and that attracts more. :(

EDIT: Shoot, if we're on the deck at all, the vibrations must go right down the post into the nest. That means we have to come around the long way and our closest retreat is effectively blocked. :(

That would be why they are so riled, the constant vibrations have them acting as if the nest is under constant threat. I would check and see if there are any good bombs available for them at your local hardware store, baring that go for a liquid treatment and soak the little bastards to death. I HIGHLY recommend Bee Bop products, if you can find it in anything but the aerosol can, aerosols won't really help in you situation.
Good to know man. I was concerned that we had a hornet's nest at my old place and I always wondered how to get rid of them. How long does it take to kill them with the liquid method? And does gasoline really kill them?

The liquid treatment will eliminate the nest with a few hours if done right, as corny as it sounds we use the saying "The label is the law", always follow the directions and never deviate from that. As for gasoline it will to an extent... of course lighting it will be even more fun but may not be an option.

Yep. The current version has Amby's suggestions.

DropBox has been very good for collaboration.

How secure is it?

1) depends on your password strength upon first setting it up like any other software access and 2) I control the access from my end based of the e-mail address you used to sign up for dropbox for this specific folder.

Here's my referral.

EDIT: Also, what Taigninja said.

Most treatments for ground wasp are going to be Permethrin based products, they will not leave a residual past a few hours. In other words keep them away during treatment and until area is dry, and the puppies will be fine. It's what I use in my home and we got the two cats, and a rabbit, and rabbits are very sensitive to chemicals. :)

Thanks so much for the advice. *hugs* You are da (bug) bomb.

Just do NOT make eye contact. I left a chili burger next to the grill and all ended well.

where did he get the rifle and are you sure it is a rifle and not a gun?

You're too young to get the reference.

Ouch. Did you have to put it that way?

But since no one has provided a link:

Yakkity Sax makes anything funny.

So I think we should take bets to when a bearly stand-able poster gets the permaban!

Nothing and I mean nothing beats sitting at a friends house reading a gaming book and then looking up to see someone pointing a LAW at your face. It was thankfully spent and as such empty. I did however need a change of shorts thereafter.

Why did I read that? I knew I'd disagree with it just by what you called the link, but... a lobotomized impostor? Up yours, buddy.

(To the guy who wrote that, not to CJ.)

Evening, y'all.

Long time no post here.

Glad I've skippped a few threads I've seen. :P

Cheesesticks. Good.

Chicken Tacos. Good.

Food in general. Good.

Guns are cool too.

At least I am feeling better after being sick for over a week and not really realizing it until Friday morning. I was just blowing it off as not getting enough sleep or my blood sugar being up, etc. I finally figured it out when the fever started breaking and reoccurring. :(
