Maybe just have a few ghouls slinking around the grave yard but not actually enter it. It is hallowed ground after all. The bandits might even make forays into the wilds around them to kill as many as they can only to have them come back from time to time. This would also give an excuse to have ghouls in the area after they defeat the Clerics. You know when one group moves out of a dungeon another moves in. This could be a foreshadowing of a future game where they may have missed something or did not know it was there and have to go back to find a document or item and have to face a new foe in an old local without having to use new maps.
I had a well known spot on the old north road in my game called ambush rock. It was the only spot with cover in a long area. Easy to set one up. Any time they notice the rock coming up they got ready for an encounter. half the time there was one. the other half they see the remains of a battle where someone had an encounter. Once they even said f*@& it and set up an ambush there themselves.

Morrdiggian is the god of the Undead in the Cthulhu Universe and maybe I can have a secret lair farther underground they don't pick up until later.

Making a Half-Orc servant of Chaugnar for the BBG of the final battle at the graveyard. He is not a cleric, but worships Chaugy. According to the book, Chaugy's favored weapon is unarmed. Now do i make him a level 1 fighter with lotsa feats or a monk who can whoop arse?
EDIT: Nevermind. Figured out what I'm going to do!

You know, I think a fighter pretending to be a Monk is a great Idea. That way they expect one thing and get another. Have he lightly armored with a big sword and walk up and kick someone in the face. Give him a random +2 and AC the first round because they think he is going to use the sword. Except if a player is a Monk where he is even on since they would expect it.

I didn't even think about putting armor on him....
I made a Disciple mini template to use on the more fervent followers of Chaugy.
+1 to Natural Armor (indicates the toughness He bestows upon them)
-2 to Initiative (reflects the toughness by making you slower)
What do you think?

If you are going to give him a -2 to Init why not a 2DR/Holy instead. It gives you a great description to go with.

But would it hamper them too much at 1st - 2nd level?

I do not think so. I think it would just give him enough of an edge to be able to stand up to them by himself. Anything more then 2 though would make him really tough though so be careful and if he is too tough you can do one of two things. 1) Have him look real annoyed and have blood start seeping out of his wound right after you roll a die and go "oh well" then have him sweating the rest of the fight and fighting defensively the rest of the time. mumbling prayers the whole time and finally crying out"what have I done to displease you?" 2) Have him beat them to a pulp laughing the entire time, he walks out saying something about them being beneath his notice and not worthy for a vessel or giving him indigestion.

Well, we knew it was the Edge that Thing keeps going beyond, so why would you go?
I mean, for me personally, Wal-mart is all that is evil and wrong with America today. If you don't believe me, see what happens if you ask an employee if they know anything about unions...

1000 shoppers in line,5 registers open. None of the employees seem to know or care about anything, and every thing is always a friggin hassle every time we go. A trip to Wal-Mart is like visiting hell, I prefer to shop "local" whenever possible.

Well, in my case, it's more about people I've known that have gotten screwed over by the corporation.
My ex-wife used to work for them as an Asst. Dept Manager. Until the one day when she was helping adjust heavy steel shelves and got a concussion requiring a trip to the emergency room, plus 6 weeks leave due to a neck injury. They denied her medical coverage saying they weren't responsible for the accident, then made working their hell (changing hours at the last minute, scheduling her for less than 20 hours a week, making her work outside her department, etc.) until she quit.
Regarding the unions thing, every employee is trained that if anyone talks to them about unions, they have to immediately leave that person and contact their manager. If a manager cannot be found, they have to dial the store phone and broadcast a code over the intercom alerting security to the issue (and yes, it's a specific code that means their someone talking about unions; and no, I don't remember the code).
Their employee training is even better. It seems to take pages directly from the 'cult brainwashing 101' workbook. Each employee is given a new "Family Name" (in case you ever wondered why Walmart employees wear two name badges), every employee MUST participate in the "Morning Cheer" ** (which requires a rote repeating of the store's cheer and basic exercises, usually at about 5 AM, when employees are still tired and haven't had breakfast) and they're officially not supposed to talk about training to anyone that doesn't work for Wal-mart.
** Which, by the way, is the best time to shoplift from Wal-mart. Not that I've personally done so, but I do know of ex-employees that have.

I have been at multiple Wal-marts in many different states on Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving). And the ONLY time I have seen them have all registers open is during a store's grand opening. And, they tend to lay off 75% of the workforce hired before the grand opening in the six weeks after the grand opening. So when they come to your town and say they will generate 300-500 jobs when the store opens, that's true. But six weeks later, they only have 75-125 employees.

The Thing from Beyond the Edge |

Evening, y'all.
Long week with the family is over. My middle of three sisters lives in this area with her husband and three kids. My older brother lives here and was coming home from his tour on the Ike. His sons were not around because one is working helping manage a golden corral in chicago and the other is currently working there helping also. My oldest sister lives in Texas but she and her husband flew into Jacksonville and rode the Ike up from there as part of a "Tiger" cruise.
Tuesday: Youngest (but still older) sister brings her two kids (and the youngest kid of oldest sis) and Mother in from Kentucky to stay with me. But, the neice of my oldest sis stayed with her parents after they came in on the Ike with my brother on Wednesday.
Wednesday: Long morning where my sister admirably conquers the difficulties involved in picking up my great neice (grandaughter of my brother in the USN whose sons are in Chicago...) so that we can all be there when the IKE came into port in Norfolk. It was my brother's last cruise and he will retire with 30 years in about three years. He threw his hat off the ship as they came in.
Thursday: Went to Sandbridge Beach. It was supposed to be 93 but the cold front came in early and it rained as we were leaving at about 4 or 5. Still, it was a lot of fun.
Friday: Went out to eat and saw Salt. My sis who stayed with me and the next older one took the young ones in to see Cats and Dogs 2: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.
Saturday: My oldest sis with her husband and youngest of three daughters flew out at 0600. Later, I took everyone else to a water amusement park for the day. My middle of three sisters took my Mom out to eat with her family while the sis who stayed at my place returned home with me. We fixed pizza, watched Halo: Legends and then watched Jaws. My other sis dropped my Mom back off at about 2300.
Sunday: Those staying with me got up early and left for Kentucky. I went back to bed and slept the whole day.

How was the movie Salt? and is Halo Legends worth owning?

Salt was pretty good, IMO. Several plot twists/items that I guessed but I don't know that anyone else who saw it with me did. Pretty good action.
How much you would like Halo: Legends would depend upon how old you are and how much you like the game. My ten year old nephew was glued to the screen for the duration. My 15 year old paid attention to most of it. I liked it some.
It is a compilation of short stories with, as I understand it, the animation done by a number of anime guys. One short story that I liked brought the response from my 15 year old that it made him think of Dragonball Z when he saw a fight scene. The short stories tell the origins of the storyline of the game and some history leading up to the game time.

Good Afternoon, how is everyone.
Walmart sucks every Walmart clone sucks.
Buy Smart, Buy ShopMart!
Afternoon.
A couple years back, I went home to Kentucky for Christmas and had to go to Wal-Mart. I prepared myself for the agony of it but everyone was nice and people even politely made room for me and others as we moved through the store. It made me miss small town USA. :(

however what you did was a good thing. You kept on topic and did in fact get more then just one person responding. Very good questions by the way.
now back to our regularly scheduled hypocrisy.

Jeremy, while I do applaud your effort, you must realize that certain participants have no other purpose than to slam the religious, period. No amount of civility and honest questioning on your part is going to change that.
Thank you for taking the high road though. :)

I've tried the same thing in the past. At most, it seems you can only succeed temporarily. :(
I'm about in the place where you are right now. I would have some questions to ask, but I just feel like any attempt at discussion I would like to have would be derailed and co-opted.
At least you tried, that's more than many can say they've tried to do.
