Hey, DM, I lost track of how many rounds of performance Adele had used so was going back through her posts to count them. When's the last time we rested, and what time is it? It was mid-day when we fought the aranea in Terrelton, and we've had the looters, the ettins & the roadblock since then; did we travel all that way in half a day?

If we survive this one, we definitely need to pack it in and rest for an evening. Dragox is running low on channels and higher spells...
If we don't end up burning the structure down, maybe we can even rest inside. Although I keep expecting that dang eidolon to show up and hit us with a fireball again....

Initiative
Maysalkirii 21
Shalani 20
Ogre1 18
Ogre2 17
Hobgoblins 13
Narses 12
Adele 12
Dragox 7
You know, in this battle, all your guys had initiative at the same time. Couldn't we have let Feek and Shalani go, then you say what your guys did, then go Narses through Shalani again? You could still narrate your round; you'd just go init 12-20 rather than 21-7. I ask only because Adele basically did nothing but move less than her base speed that last round and technically should have been able to attack the ogre when he came down the ladder. Instead, her turn was mostly wasted as the ogre actually got to act twice before she could react. (Or, you know, would have if Feek hadn't jumped down after it and slaughtered it.) Plus, I'd know if there was a point to using another round of bardic performance; if everything's dead by the time my initiative comes up, I'd save it. There have been a couple of times in this game that my tactics would have changed based on changing circumstances by the time Adele's initiative has come up.

Just remembered something from 3.5, and went to see if it still applied to PF. Sure enough...
Damaging Magic Weapons: An attacker cannot damage a magic weapon that has an enhancement bonus bonus unless his weapon has at least as high an enhancement bonus as the weapon struck.
Either the blades aren't destroyed, or our loot just possibly got an upgrade/was better than I thought lol.

You ought to be just about there, stardust. We spent the night at the bridge after she re-equipped herself so Dragox could learn stone shape, then we stayed the next night at Vraath Keep before we made it back to Drellin's Ferry; we were there for 3-4 days, and this is the evening of the next day after that. That adds up to 6 days since she put the ring back on.

Ok. so here is my conundrum... Actually, you know what. I'm going to put this in a spoiler for the DM, so noone else look for now, please.
As you may recall, I wanted Shalani to be Chaotic Neutral with Chaotic Good tendencies because she is a follower of Irori. The background is a little more complicated than that, but I could use some advice in how to roleplay the situation. I love Pathfinder Sorcerers. They are so much cooler than old D&D sorcerers. I've invented about 5 different bloodlines myself: Unicorn, Diamond, Fortification, Moon, Blood, and have picked up several more from 3PP. It just seems to me that each sorcerer has a strange and mysterious background that is the main source for their powers. It doesn't have to be that way, but that's how I enjoy roleplaying it.
In Shalani's distant background, she is the sole survivor of a nomadic tribe in a far away desert, her life was mostly good. She was an obediant daughter and her father was the tribe's alchemist, which explains her interest in the profession. The problem arose when a fire elemental lord with a strange and obscure agenda of its own was awakened in the desert and killed the entire tribe, leaving Shalani the sole survivor. It may even have been that Shalani channeled the being that destroyed her people. Since then, she has been overcome with personal rage and anguish, as well as strange destructive tendencies that may not be entirely her own. That's the reason I made her Chaotic Neutral. She is aware of this conflict however, so she began to follow the religion of Self Perfection: weeding out the unwanted parts of her personality, even though she occasionally flies into rages. (Look out world!)
I guess my question is... how do I roleplay this? It feels like I'm being too quiet and subdued most of the time, but its a very conscious effort to do so (on Shalani's part, I mean). If I could find a piece of music on youtube to listen to to get into character, it might help some. Any suggestions?

So just decide what it is that will set her off. ;)

I may have mentioned this to various people on MSN, but I thought i'd make myself clear with some copy-paste-fu.
I am completely swamped with work for university- i'm posting at 6AM after being up all night working on a damn progress report, and I have a paper on security due in a couple of days. I'm stressed, burnt out and exhausted.
Hence my slower post rate- but never fear, for my next deadline is on friday so I imagine i'll be back to normal posting rate on monday, after my melted brain has cooled down once more.
Thanks for your patience, and apologises for the slowdown on my end.

Geez, tell him to get better, AK. 2 bouts with pneumonia? That is a crappy way to spend 6 weeks.
Yeah, "happy holidays." This will be a season to remember. :P
I just realized something. The pearl of power only functions for classes who prepare spells, not spontaneous casters, at least in the rules as written. This could easily, however, have been house ruled to allow spontaneous casters to recall a spell after their uses for that spell level had been used. Or as an alternative, there might be something called a jewel of power (or something) which grants spontaneous casters a single extra spell use of a certain level.
I swear, I had a PC who had some kind of houseruled item like this, but I can't remember how it worked or even which character it was. I'll go through my character sheets and see what my DM did.
EDIT: Actually, looks like what we did, when we realized it wouldn't work for my sorceror, was trade it for an empowered shellshard out of the Magic Item Compendium. So, not as helpful as I thought.

Aaaaaand I'm back. It wasn't two bouts of pneumonia so much as one prolonged bout with a brief break to lull me into a false sense of security. But thanks to antibiotics, I finally made my Fortitude save. :)
I need to read up a little to get my head back in the game, but I will have a post up this evening to advance the action.

I'll keep Shalani for now. I have an idea for a hobgoblin barbarian/fighter if Shalani doesn't make it, lol. I don't usually play melee classes, being a caster at heart. But I might try it out if Shalani doesn't work. :)
Adele's diplomacy has been extremely helpful, though. Its been able to keep the story going, and I'm not sure any of the rest of us could be quite so congenial.
