Explanation, Mr. Gary Teter? (Changed Alias Names)

It appears that one of my alias was changed from "Levistus" to "Dark Arioch's Levistus" out of the blue with no explanation. I have been using the alias for some time now in PBP games on these very boards. Needless to say, I create my alias to help with immersion and find the "Dark Arioch" tacked on somewhat distracting and disappointing. I am assuming that a change like this has to come from you or someone very close to you.

Yeah, I just noticed I turned 53, or my avatar did, he he. Still a little weird, but I think it will be resolved after the Paizocon ends.

The website has protections to prevent multiple people from having the same avatar name. This prevents identity confusion and impersonation. However, it recently came to our attention that there were certain exploits (some potentially accidental, some not so much) that allowed users to create aliases that shared names with other accounts.

While those exploits have been closed, it was necessary to find and rectify any accounts that shared names with one another. In your case, there was someone who had created an account using the name Levistus some time ago. As a result, your alias was renamed.

I do apologize for any inconvenience. If there is a different, unique name you'd like applied to this alias instead, please let me know.

Edit: Eric, similarly, there was another account named 'Eric Swanson'.

Hmmmm, ok, that's fine but can I have it changed to something less intrusive? Perhaps put a period after it or something? I'm hoping that this is something that occurred very infrequently, otherwise I understand why you wouldn't want to take personal requests and open up that can of worms. If not, than I guess I'll just create a new one and allow that one to languish on the Isle of Misfit Names.

EDIT: Apparently we are ninja'ing one another.

Yeah, about that, this is Eric Swanson, but I don't know how to prove this to you, he he. If you could rename my main avatar back to Eric Swanson, that would be cool.

I'll chime in that I had an alias, my '...' (my identityless voiceover narrator) turn into 'Patrick Curtin's ...'. If you could change it back I'd appreciate it, if somehow the '...' appelation bothers you, perhaps you could rename it to 'Narrator' something similar ...

Gary/Ross,

Could you change the alias of Erik Mona to Eric Mona ? That "k" in his name is an obvious mistake. ;-)

It's not a mistake. He's just an impostor.

This ... just does not have ... the same ... impact.

Can this alias be General Zod! with an exclamation point, then?

Same here with Cookie Monster! instead?

Yep, just to clarify in case it was missed in my above post: Levistus. would work fine.

It's not that '...' bothers me, it's that someone else had it first. 'Narrator' and 'The Narrator' are also taken. I changed the alias to 'Nameless Narrator'. Does that suit you?

Eat herbicide, crabgrass.

Oh NOW I remember. You're the bitter guy with the fake halo!

Which reminds me, I hope when the Leafy Leshy finally is published, he's a suitable homage to my wondrous leafitude.

CCCOOOOOOKKKIIIEEE for ROSS & GARY!

ZOD! is not amused. A pestilence upon your fixes, Planet Houston. KNEEL before me and I may withhold my anger. For a moment.

Understood. (That link doesn't seem to go anywhere but the main page by the by). Nameless Narrator will do, thanks Ross, unless you wanna do me a solid and make it '.....' (or however many dots aren't taken, that would be excellent)

And so Mona flaunted his greatness before the envious hordes, and they cried aloud and smote their breasts. Aaaiii!

Is it a mistake that at the top of the page it reads "Welcome, Matt Devney!" when my avatar name has changed to Dazylar?

Three of mine got hit, I guess I'll just retire them as I don't like my name being grafted on the beginning.

No.

Funny how I got away with this while Patrick didn't. I guess the one period makes a difference.
And if I was just missed, please ignore this post. And the alias behind it. :P

That was weird. I poked it with a stick and now it's back.

If someone took the same name, you just need to think of an awesomer way of saying the same thing. Heh. "Awesomer."

Can I make a request to have this avatar renamed to "Hazreem Al'Shakar
_1"

Huh. bonehead's available now. Interesting.

Edit: though too late - not giving up my subscriber tags for it :)

Can I please have this Alias's name changed to "Skia, Disciple of Hekate" instead of "flash_cxxi's Skia"?

Thank You :)

As a side note: I find it interesting that someone else apparently has the same name, yet doing a search of the Users for this name only turns up my Alias and no other.

Don't suppose I could get this account's name changed to Gene Hostetler as opposed to Gene 95?

I dunno ... I think you should go with it and treat it as some kinda biohazard name :)

I could make it happen; Ross traded his soul for all that power. In payment I shall require all female undergarments in your possession... uh, for ritualistic purposes, naturally! ;)

Just add a 'z' to his name, Ross Byerz is extreme to the max.
