Cardon Quid |

Busy day, so I'll post now for round 2...
Round 2:
Cardon uses his scarf to hit squares where the spiders are not, thereby herding them towards the nasty fighters actually able to hit the broad side of a barn...

Kovellus Vossare |

Round 2
Grinning like he only does when he's ending lives, Kovellus hefts his hammer for another massive blow on a different target.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 4) + 9 = 14
Yup, thats a kill...
Yes I am taking a level in barbarian next lol. I am kind of expecting Kovellus to die horribly in battle though as well.

Emyralda |

Round Two:
Intoning another mystical word of power, Emyralda points at the spider threatening Andrezi, sending a small orb of acid toward its bloated body.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (8) + 2 - 4 = 6 (included penalty for firing into melee)
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3

Tosk Saladin |

Unlike Lily, Tosk had curiosity for little but the foe on the rickety ship. He'd not seen anything like the spiders before, though he was not afraid of them; he felt there was more wicked surprises in store for the mismatched group.
His darkvision not failing him, Tosk stepped confidently to the doorway, not interested in whatever baubles lay among the dilapidated vessels now-dead arachnids.
"It's him, not his things, we are after." Tosk moved to proceed through the doorway, hoping the rest of them would come with him instead of searching. The large human had proven quite strong of arm and short of patience, so Tosk guessed he might follow suit.

And he guessed correctly. Kovellus seemed intent on little else, and fidgeted and hefted his hammer constantly whenever there was any delay.

Lily D'Amico |

Let's discuss, since I'm worried that we're on different pages. I'm not trying to plunder Lamm's things, I'm trying to get into the boat in a way that doesn't risk me falling into the water. I am no acrobat, and I think I heard Sully mention a shark fin swimming around. If everyone else wants to risk the Acrobatics check to go in the door, I'll certainly follow suit after everyone else. Otherwise, going down in the hold and finding a safer way up is a perfectly legitimate strategy. While we're down there, if we can find evidence of further misdeeds, so much the better. Anything that will go toward making us look like heroes instead of vigilantes is probably a good thing.

Cardon Quid |

Cardon slips down into the hold and starts looking about for doors or hatches, listening at any he finds.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
I'm slightly confused. Some people are referring to slipping through a hole in the deck into the hold, while others reference a doorway. Which is it actually? I thought the spiders were climbing up the hole that somebody made falling through rotten floor boards.

Lily D'Amico |

It's a little bit confusing, but I think the situation is:
There's a dock, leading to a boat. There's a door on the boat, but there's a bit of deck between the dock and the door. When Andrezi stepped onto the deck, he almost fell through it and into the hold. So, there's a hole in the deck between us and the door. Or at least, there was, since we're now going down into the hole instead of making any more of them involuntarily. :)

DM Sully |

Sorry for lack of posting yesterday. Sixteen hour day at work plus migraine equals early bedtime.
To clarify, the ship you are on is rickety and weather-beaten, and barely seaworthy. Andrezi punched a hole in the top deck which opened a passageway to the interior hold below. The cabin sits on the aft portion of the ship, and that is where the door is. I was under the impression that everyone was going to climb in the hole Andrezi inadvertantly punched in the deck - which incidentally is where the spiders came from.
Cardon clambers easily down into the dank, musty hold using the stacked crates and barrels as a makeshift ladder. Anything that was once held in the containers has long since rotted and become useless. Spider webs hang from every surface and cover nearly every corner. Thousands, if not millions, of tiny spiders scramble through the webs frantically. A trapdoor with a ladder leading to it obviously lead to the cabin above.
Cardon pokes around the hold, and finds an area where the tar and webs that line the rest of the interior walls has been scraped away. Its purpose, however, evades him.
Perception check DC 15 -

Emyralda |

Emyralda climbs down carefully behing Andrezi and Kovellus.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Up the trapdoor then?
"That would seem to make sense," Emyralda responds to the warrior's question. "Maybe Tosk and Lily should come at the cabin from the topside, while we enter through the trapdoor. That way, we can keep anyone inside from slipping past us."

Kovellus Vossare |

Kovellus scrutinises the door for a moment, then pauses.
Say Half-Orc? Come give me a hand with this one. Lets make a dramatic entrance eh...
With or without Tosk's help, Kovellus attempts to boot down the hidden door Emyralda pointed out to him.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 (Assumes Tosk's assistance)

Thanks for the update, Alex! Looking forward to starting back up!

Emyralda |

I will be leaving for a week-long vacation tomorrow (July 10). The place where we're staying supposedly has internet access, but we'll find out for sure tomorrow. So if we get started back up and you don't hear from me in a day or two, please feel free to run Emyralda. Thanks!

Here's an update from Sully...
PC is still in the shop. They screwed up when they were fiddling with it, and now they need to order a new motherboard. On top of that, I've been travelling for business and a mini-vacation and things have been absolutely crazy.
I miss you guys on the boards, but I hope to be back ASAP. Please let everyone know that I'm not the type to disappear and not come back, and as soon as it's humanly possible, I'll be back around.
I've got GenCon this weekend, too, which only adds to the lunacy. Keep on waiting, guys! I'll be back!
Thanks,
Josh
