Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Seeing Mash not take by anything ill, Des comments,

"At least that went well."

Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

He draws both his rapiers and stands beside Jirah.

"So, clearing the tower then, shall we?" He says with a grin.

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

"Act now, think later. Sometime is good."

"Good to know that even though Mash has some surprises, he is can be counted on being headstrong."

"Perhaps our scout is right, we should not wait for whatever is up there to come to us," Jirah says. "I shall go first, if need be."

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

Mash no like Jirah.

Strength check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 to push her into the tower first.

"Settle down, Mash! Let the scouts go first. Jirah, stay back here, in case they try an ambush from behind."

Human Monk 4| HP 52/52| AC 21| Fo +9 (7) Re +11 Wi +9| Percep +7 Stealth +9| Move 35'| Hero Points 1/1 Focus 2/2

"Yeah! What he said." Raff says sarcastically. He then moves further into the building.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Jirah stands by Cole, as far away as possible from Mash.
As you enter the tower, you see a small spiral staircase near the back right of the room, once fine-carvings now barely visible on the worn wood.

Does the staircase go up or down?

Both.

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

[joking]Can i kick Jirah down the stairs?[/joking]

"Lets go below. My eyes prefer the darkness."

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Des frowns a little.

"Um, might I suggest some one holds the stairs here? Since the group can only go in one direction and doing so, in a way, leaves the party open for being approached, attacked from the other." Des smiles.

"Might I suggest the lady Jirah and my self hold the line here?" He indicates the paired weapons at their hips. "Our fighting styles seem complmentary..." His voice trails off awaitiong other peoples comments as to his plan.

"No, Kes heard noises from upstairs, so that is where we go. Kes, I want you to go first, followed by Mash, Raff, and Erodel. Desvartes, you take the rear position, I will keep Jirah company here in the middle."

Cole looks directly at Des, "Make sure we don't have any suprises here."

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Desvartes bows formaly to Cole, "But of course." He straightens and smiles sadly to Jirah,

"I appologize now for being in such a position such that I must watch the rear." He steps back and away from the group/stairs and draws his rapiers, lifting one in a jaunty salute.

"Onwards and upwards!" He smiles.

Human Monk 4| HP 52/52| AC 21| Fo +9 (7) Re +11 Wi +9| Percep +7 Stealth +9| Move 35'| Hero Points 1/1 Focus 2/2

Raff moves to follow Cole's plan.

Holding her weapons ready, Jirah stands next to Cole, seemingly impatient for the battle to begin.

perception 20:
The voices upstairs have gone quiet.

Erodel says quietly to the rest of the group...

"The voices have stopped. Whatever it is obviously knows we are here. We should be on the look-out for an ambush."

Do you move up the stairs, or just wait there?

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Cole silently signals Kes and Mash to go up first.

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

Mash taps his blade against his helmet as approval. Unfortunately as the blade hits Mash flatly on the forehead, Mash realized he left his helmet back in the caverns infested with the half-demonic cult of albino troglodytes, or should it be the corpses of the said creatures.

Male elf 1 rouge

Keselous was so intent on trying to hear what was going on above that he was paying little attention to what they were discussing around him.

perception1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

he whispers they've noticed us as well, they are quiet now. lets go then. he moves across the room attempting to be aware of the space around him but move at a healthy pace. he signals to his eyes and then to the stairs that go downwards and proceeds to head upwards. mace at the ready.

initiative, everyone.

She's remained veiled, armored, and gloved all this time, you know.

Kes 23
Mash 19
Goblin 1, 19
Des 18
Jirah 14
Erodel 11
Raff 10
Gnoll 10
Goblin 2, 7
Cole 7
Goblin 3, 4

Once you begin to climb the stairs, you hear clattering from very near above you, and four monstrous figures appear on the steps ahead from the next level, a vague light space behind the one gnoll and three goblin mercenaries that stand before you, their weapons held ready.

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Um..in a word? "Oh cr@p..."

Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

What kind of weapons?

Male elf 1 rouge

How many can stand side by side on the steps?

Keselous swipes at the one closest with his morningstar.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 191d8 ⇒ 3

Perception:1d20+4

What kind of weapons?

All the goblins carry short swords and short bows, but will most likely be relying on the swords. The gnoll is carrying a spear.

Two people can stand side by side on the steps.

Kes manages to hit the gnoll, who retaliates, but misses.

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

Mash will yell a most guttural noise from his heaving chest. He lays his eyes filled with rancid rage upon the closest victim.

Mash's Rage: 6 rounds total

BAB: +1, CMB: +8, CMD: 21 Init: +3
Fort: +6, Reflex: +3, Will: +4 (Additional +2 vs. Fear)
HP Max: 16 (Current 16); Spd: 40 ft
AC: 16 (11 Touch, 13 FF)
Bastard Sword +8 (1d10+7/19-20)

He will pounce on the nearest goblin, and attempt to disembowel it with his mighty blade.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Damage: 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

or not.

Despite Mash's ferocity, he misses the goblin, which also misses him when it tries to retaliate. It attacks again, this time landing a well-placed blow (6 damage).

Attack of opportunity for you, Mash.
On a personal note, I just found out about an epic fantasy trilogy (Mistborn) that I love possibly, in the future, being made into movies and it's driving me mad.

I'lll look into, I'll read the books after I watch the movies as to be impressed with the books instead of disappointed by the movies.

AoO of Death!

Male Elf (Aquatic) Fighter 1

Desvartes looks up the stairs at the enemy and then back at his two rapiers. He sighs.

Human Monk 4| HP 52/52| AC 21| Fo +9 (7) Re +11 Wi +9| Percep +7 Stealth +9| Move 35'| Hero Points 1/1 Focus 2/2

Not able to get past his companions, Raff opts to aid them by throwing his shuriken at the un engaged gnoll.

Shuriken 1d20 ⇒ 3 Damage 1d2 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Shuriken 1d20 ⇒ 10 Damage 1d2 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
note I took a -2 penalty for up to 20 feet of range.

The goblin collapses at Mash's feet, soon dead.
Raff, not your turn yet.
Jirah uses her short sword to attack the gnoll, but misses, and manages to dodge the monster's retaliation.
Erodel's turn.

Dark Archive

Male Human (Chelaxian) Urban Ranger 5 | HP 23/52 | AC 18 T 13 FF 15 | Fort +7 Ref +8 Will+4 | Initiative +3 | Perception +12 (+14 Trapfinding) | Conditions: None

Erodel steps back out of reach if he was in reach and casts Cause Fear on the Gnoll. Will Save DC 14

The gnoll steps backward a step, before regaining its composure and growling at the witch, hands shaking, not suffering the full effects of the spell.

I will assume, Raff, that you haven't changed your mind about your action.

Both of Raff's shurikens miss their targets.
The gnoll launches an attack at Jirah, who dodges, and the gnoll dodges her retaliation.
A second goblin steps over his dead kin to attack Mash. Who is done raging, and therefore fatigued. It misses. AoO

Cole's turn.

Cole steps forward and touches Mash on his shoulder, infusing him with the Battle Rage of Iomedae. Domain power, War: Mash gains a +1 to his damage roll for one round.

Male Half-orc Barbarian 1

Is Mash now fatigued? I thought rage lasts for X amount of rounds, not X amount of turns. Should I not have 5 more rounds of rage?
