Yes, I did spend a large chunk of my childhood in the UP.
That. Is. Not. Pasties.
At all. Blech. That sounds terrible. No it must be made with pie crust. Made with real butter or with lard, either will work. But no margarine crap. And never with lean meat. I tried that once myself. Awful. Always use a slightly fatty cut of meat. Much better. This isn't supposed to be good for you.
They are a lot of work, but good ones are worth it. And for me they are classic childhood comfort food. :)

She's like Jack Sprat, she only eats lean meat. She leaves half a steak on the plate sometimes because of that. I once fried and ate all the fatty parts from the stew meat she was gonna discard! Best flavor in the world!

Ah, Cornish pasties!
Everything we've mentioned can be delicious, except for lutefisk and barf. Might as well add in gefilte fish. Not going to try Rocky Mountain Oysters.
Ah but the tastiest thing of all....
....and my next post with this alias will be number....

So I am writing an article for the Workshop exploring the idea that Dungeon beneath Ptolus can be considered a Mythic Underworld. I am pretty excited about this concept, though I think I have reached the point where I have to ask myself if anyone would really care about a multi-page dissertation into the subject. I know it would be popular but those doubts creep in every so often, you know.
I am thinking I should take a break. Perhaps I will do some packing while I let the ideas percolate some more.
It sounds interesting to me. :)

It's because you kept trying to take my iPad. :)
That's why you held it on your person practically the whole trip. You were afraid he was going to take it behind some building and ... interface with it.

Must have Galchutts vs Cenobyte turf wars.

He pitched his tent, I caught the signal, and I gave him what he wanted.

Good morning folks!
I must have been a Southerner in another life, because despite being raised in the Yankeest of Yankvilles I LOVE grits. And chicken and dumplings, and chciken-fried steak, and jumbalaya, etc. Didn't have any until I went in the Army, but man, how bland food seemed up here afterwards! Oh and real Mexican food. Taco Bell is a pale shadow compared to the mom-and-pop restaurants in Monterey and El Paso. Mmmmm ... Chiles Rellenos ....
*blink*

Goooooooooood morning Fawlty Towers!!!!
Good news! After weeks(potentially months) of walking to work, my legs no longer feel like rubber 24-7! It's not the constant low thrumming/burn I had when exercising/training regularly, but it's something close- almost like my muscles are in a calm, ready state. It feels damn good, let me tell you. That, and my brain seems to be working better. I was able to remember a complex(for me anyway) string of things to check out online once I got to work, and I was able to call 'em up as soon as I got here, no problem. Overall, I feel more alert, awake, and refreshed.
Aside from this, nothing else is going on. It's going to be a crazy day, one of many out of this crazy month. A quick check of the schedule with gaming buddies reveals that there will be neither Ptolus or Darklight Sisterhood this month(*sniff*) and my weekly game hasn't happened in a couple of weeks. Goddamn this "mature adult" life we all lead. I'd kill for yesterday's much-touted naptime along with juice and cookies afterwards.

A bit more personal detail from the Doc than we are used to....
