My shoulders will be killing me later. Just got back from my first workout in a long time. I decided to focus on my shoulders for my punching power and arm stamina for Muay Thai when I go back. Fun new way to use dumbbells, Hold onto a 10 lb(er) in each hand and start throwing jabs, crosses, hooks and uppercuts. Do this for 3-5 minutes for a set and do 3-5 setsWe now return you to your normally scheduled topic

Do it on a saturday or on a day off. You'd be surprised how much ground you can cover when you aren't conciously thinking about it.

I was doing that. Of course I lived about 7 blocks from work so why waste the gas. Then we moved the center to a new building on the north side of town. 12 miles away. Then I moved 3 more miles south. 15 miles to and from work is outside of my personal fitness level right now.

That's a distance I've walked before, that's not what concerns me, actually. It's the fact that it would take me at least 1:45 (possibly 2 hours if I'm pacing myself) each way, and while I do need more exercise, 4 hours a day is a bit more than I can fit in.

I am only using 10 lbs to reinforce the muscles and get back in the swing of things. Let me work up to 40-50 in each hand. That should work out the arms and give some good power to my punches

lol. I just recently conquered my fridge and dishes mountain. It was difficult. There were casualties. It was truly nauseating, but in the end, victory was mine. ;)
Well, sort of. Turns out we don't actually have anything to eat, but you know, other than that. :)

Good afternoon! I'm finding out that working at 1 place for 12 years made me complacent, because that interview was tough. I managed to work through most of the questions they gave me. It's hard to read the people who did the interview, particularly the guy who's going to make the decision. I certainly did better on this one than on the 90-minute phone screen that I flailed at. Anyway, I'll find out tomorrow.
Lynora, sorry to hear about your son being stubborn, but hooray for double green.
Amby, nice to see you again.
I hope the rest of you are having a good afternoon.

I caved and bought a Nook last night, so am currently reading about 5 e-books at once. Also ordering puzzles for the store as we convert from baby boutique to toy store. There's one that is a scene from a bordello. My partner marked it to order. I'm not sure that's wise. Guys, what do you think of bordellos?

I'm curious about how you like the Nook. It seemed better than the Sony or the Kindle, but I'd like to hear from folks' experience. I don't get it. Bordello puzzle? Sounds like a different kind of toy store.

ANYhoo, the Nook is pretty cool. I was looking forward to newspaper or magazine subscriptions, but the papers are $1 per issue and both have very limited selections.
The books work well. I'm starting with their $1 classics and hitting a lot of the must-reads that I haven't seen before. I have not tried uploading a PDF for viewing yet, but it should be doable.
