In general, which is more awesome: Werewolves or Vampires?

I vote werewolves.

Gotta go with ya on that one. Werewolves.

What do you mean I'm biased?

Your answer doesn't surprise me in the least. :)

Werewolves.

In general is one thing, but in the direction that vampires have been taken by Hollywood in recent years? Werewolves. Especially, werewolves that kill douchy emo vampire kids, and fly into a rage when they sparkle. Also, werewolves who kill their pouty werewolf rivals.

Scarab Sages

Werewolves.

yay for biases!

Liberty's Edge

Werewolves!

But dragons are cooler than both!

Werewolves>Beastie Boys>>Waffles>>>>>>>>>>>>Vampires

Except for the Salems Lot vampire.

Vampires make excellent care takers, sanitation personnel and food service professionals.

Werewolves play professional athletics as a "day job", eat faces and mark their turf. Ever wonder how some pro teams have a 'core' of players that never seem to get seriously hurt? Wolf pack.

The real question: is it vampire ninjas or werewolf pirates? ;)

Werewolves of course. After all... we don't sparkle!

Spoiler:
The books are good though.

Werevampires.

Werepires can be found when playing Advenrture Quest.

Werewolf Rangers and a Cleric that can cast True Sight.

Advanced Ethereal Werewolves with the blood drain/latch of giant weasels, plus Barbarian levels.

I must be old. Vampires scoff at the gullible humans while secretly applauding how well the Hollywood wussification of their personae has gone. The feast will be well this night...

...

You know what else is wrong with this thread?

It completely fails to take into account Kate Beckinsale's future offspring, which will pwn both species.

Vampires, absolutely. They've had a metric crap-ton of awful movie appearances, but plenty of good ones, as well.

I haven't really seen a compelling presentation of Werewolves yet.

American Werewolf in London?

I'm full of hope, though history teaches me that my hopes are often dashed.

I enjoyed that film. I think they recently made a sequel film.

Wolf Lake! (Just kidding. That was the Kindred: the Embraced of werewolf fare.)

The Howling was only interesting around the third or fourth one, where they had that scene where Sybil Danning rips her shirt off thirty or forty times...

SS Werewolves are more interesting.

Unless they are led by a SS Vampire?

Double the evil at half the price. Good for a WWII era monster-killer beatdown.

Sounds all City of Heroes, with the Fifth Column (led by vampire SS officers, with lts. that would turn into 'warwolves').

What happens to the fleas that feed on werewolves? Do they become werefleas?

Great way to spread lycanthopy without player knowledge.

"You wake up covered in gore next to what used to be a cow. Remember when you stayed in the wolf den for the night, and the fleas were biting you? Yeah, you failed a Fort save..."

Vampires are kinda cool and all, but they ain't got s*^t on werewolves.

Wereravens are cooler than vamps, I'll give you that.

The wererat vampire from From Dusk Till Dawn. ;)

Vampires are so much greater.
Not even close.

Looks like Set and I are the only ones right here, all you werewolf fools.

Oh, and the best (maybe only good) werewolf movie is the Jack Nicholson, Michele Pfeifer(sp) movie Wolf.

....................

Werewolves are dumb brute monsters that can't control themselves. They're just personified rage.
Banal.

Vampires are guileful, sexy, intelligent, DYNAMIC characters. Oh, and they have the same strength and capacity for rage as the werewolves do.

Well vampires and werewolves both have an ECL modifier which means as wizards they'd lose caster levels which means a REAL wizard would pwn their faces.

Or so I heard on the tier threads.

[/threadjacktroll]

Srsly vampires. Seems like in most legendaria, werewolves get kind of dumb when they turn all wolfy. Vampires stay smart and in control. Smart > strong.

EDIT: ninjad by W E Ray.

Immortality...charm/dominate...

There is one in the Oriental Adventure setting, but I don't think that the vamp fans would like that picture...

Grand Lodge

Earlier someone mentioned mosquito vampires.

In issue 61 or 62 of Dungeon was a little adventure about Lyman Frack, a vampire who transformed into a swarm of mosquitoes (back before swarm rules).

It was a really cool little adventure, pretty novel I thought.

You know, in the original myth vampire is created when werewolf dies and rises from the grave. Well, not from the grave, exactly. When werewolf doesn't get burned after death, he becomes vampire.

So, what you're saying is, werewolves are so cool while they're alive they become vampires to make up for their coolness in life?

Mairkurion {tm} wrote:

Yep, that's why vampires are betterthey are more versatile in their interpretation. They can be ravenous monsters, seductive manipulators, oriental zombiesque or sparkly.

Werewolves are just stupid dogs. :P
