Thanks for the supportive messages, guys! It's the community that makes this site so great. I love the chance to brush virtual elbows with other wanna-be's, and especially the option to see the judges' rationale and even the other community members' critiques of different items and contest entries.

I feel like I am learning a lot about the process just watching these discussions unfold, and it's helped me bring a focused critical eye back to my own work.

First session of PFRPG online is tonight, here's hoping it goes well! (And Lastwall is the coolest country in Golarion! :P)

Yay Lastwall! Yay Vigil!

Remember: Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty!

What's the price of Eternal Vigilance?

Scarab Sages

I'd like to thank Clark for being the face of the contest and being the gruff uncle who tells you what you need to hear in order to grow, which might not be what you want to hear.

Huzzah!

Constantly having to remind your Prot Warrior to refresh it.

With or without the extended warrantee?

And remember, "Eternal" is a long time, so we recommend the extended warrantee to all our customers.

WoW has three primary roles: Tank, Heal, and Replaceable.

Ah, but that's only if you have taken the 'Know who to Bribe' feat, otherwise it's triple! ;) (But I think that's from a splatbook, not PF core, so we can't use it in the contest!) ;P

Oh, and Swordless, that is just beautiful man! I hope your having as much fun dusting off your old books as I am dusting off mine! :D

I'll add my voice to the clamor and choruses of gratitude. You guys and gals have all been wonderful, to starting the contest in the first place, to poring over and through hundreds of entries, to putting up with <Self-edited for space, Let's just call it 'less-than-polite-people' and go from there,>! PLEASE keep doing exactly what your doing! It IS appreciated! And kudos to the previous contestants who typed pages of advice! Know that if I don't advance, it isn't because I ignored you all!

Thank you all!

With varying degrees of replaceable. For instance, the rogue that's mostly in "blue-quality" gear that's outdpsing the Death Knight (who is *not* a tank or off-tank) in full "epic-quality" gear by 30% is less replaceable than said Death Knight.

Not standing in the fire/void zone/poke ball rune/poo gas also decreases the replaceable factor.

There has been a disquieting amount of judge-bashing (well, Clark-bashing) on one or two treads lately, which I haven't noticed in previous years. I think this is a massive shame, and I hope this thread reminds people of how awesome this contest and its judges actually are.

I've seen it too, and I think that he has become a minor celebrity on these forums. That is bound to attract an amount of both negative and positive attention(there are as many threads praising Clark!). Anyone with as much visibility as him, especially someone who is not afraid to speak their mind and shoot from the hip, is going to get that. But no matter what you think of him, he's dedicated his time to help us find a voice. Love him or hate him, at least show the guy respect.

Also, why are we talking WoW? The 4e forums are elsewhere =P.

Another first-time entrant echoing thanks to both the awesomeness of the judging and the whole structure of the competition. It's very user-friendly. And everyone seems so darn nice when they're not blowing each other up.

That sums up Paizo messageboards very succinctly.
